there is a colored glass on my Xperia SP's camera it shines voilet or blue color in white light. I compared it with another 2-3 SPs from mobile store but they didn't have any such colored glass. Then i compared my camera output live on 3 different SP. Mine came out yellow and with much more noise
Camera settings, White balance brightness everything was same on all 3 phones.
the other 2 were on .211 and mine is on .284
Do any of you have any such blue shining glass on your camera ??
I bought my SP from authorized Sony Centre in seal packed box still it came out defective

See this is the blue glow i am talking about. it is the cause of noise and dull colors in pics from camera.

And i yeah i wish it were a UV resistance layer.. until n unless it is not messing with my pics. but sadly it ruins them with noise

yeah that was one reason for sticking with sony. last time i got my galaxy note repaired.. samsung pissed me off.. all i could see was a phone full of scratches. I really hope sony does care and this doesn't happen to SP. SP is much more beautiful and delicate than Note.
I wish i had some way to simply get my phone replaced :silly:

Dude, you gotta go to a Sony Authorized Showroom and compare your SP with SP kept for display there. Just remember to match each and every bit of setting on both SPs and then check live feed from camera of both.:fingers-crossed: You shouldn't see a fu**** difference. If you see it, i feel sorry i would advice you to go straight to service centre and hope for them to get up to your point. Explain whole story to them. They will feel customer is kinda crazy but you gotta keep patience till they get your point. Simple! then wait for 10 days.

Eh I don't think there are any physical stores that have this phone on display in my country. On the weekend i'll try to find one! Thanks
I don't think there's yellow tint but compared to the sample photos of the SP I get a lot more noise even on very bright sunlight
to keep you guyz updated let me tell you.. i am getting my phone back tomorrow finally.
two days back i went to Nehru place, delhi to check more xperia sp phones. not to be shocked.. i saw more sp's with this problem and the retail shoppers refused to accept these are defective phones lol
but i think some of us should collectively take action and get it right to them. i need suggestions, how can i report this to sony? just enough so that they them selves start investigating it.

So I just got another xperia Z, used, from ebay, and there is 2 issues that i think could be warranty issues.
1) the tape under the seals is red, not white, showing water leakage? I saw reports of this from poeple on the forum, do sony cover repairing seals? This was the special launch bundle with headphones etc. so it is one of the first off the line
2) there is a blemish on the right hand corner, which lines up with where the dock clips in, could this have been caused by the dock? if so is this covered by warranty. See the images below

I guess sony wont cover those small damages, I even got a small dot on a gorilla glass, I peeled of the screen protector but when I cleaned it with soft cloth I discovered very tiny dot (scratch) and I got very pissed, it is almost invisible but I hate to know that my phone has a scratch because I always take care of my phone and I'm very careful! I also was interested if the could polish the screen or something but they said it's not a factory damage and would not repair it. I had Xperia S and I promised myself not to buy SONY products because of build quality and again I did it! I'm very disappointed Hope Honami will be better

Upon closer inspection, the issue with the screen is more because it has been replaced badly (didnt know this before), the corner is not stuck down properly, so sticks up and makes it easier to damage, all that has happened is the black bezel has come off a small chunk in the corner, meaning it is just clear, as it lights up when you turn the screen on. Also pushing on the sides of the screen presses on the actual LCD, just a really poor repair!
Still wondering about the pinkish tabs under the flaps though

Well..that's a great idea(if it works!) for those who want to claim warranty for hardware related problems. One could carefully rub some on it using an ear-bud or something.

If you break your own device man up and pay up. The only reason i left this here was because it wasn't due to hardware.
Just to update people on this, the phone is going back, the screen was poorly replaced and is loose on 2 corners, the back is also loose from where it has been dropped, so a combination of not well looked after and poor build quality really. Not going to stop me buying the honami on launch day though. I'm hoping for a Honami and Smartwatch 2 bundle

Hey guys,
My phone is Xperia V as many of you might know.. It fell out of my pocket last night.
The upper screen above the Sony logo got a little crack, but that's not the thing i'm worried about..
The bottom of the screen became unresponsive :/
Bad luck i guess. The screen displays perfect, it is just unresponsive to touch inputs.
Also, i'm out of warranty. Not only cause my bootloader is unlocked, the warranty period ended 4 months ago.
(relocked bootloader and reverted to stock, still nothing)
Look at this quick image if you don't know what i mean:

I honestly don't think there's an easy solution myself, but just thought of creating a thread anyway who knows..
What to do?
3 months ago, my xv fell out of my pocket too and upper screen above the Sony logo got cracked and my screens upper part became unresponsive I took it to repair center, and the found out that the touch input was broked. Because xv uses sensor on lens, I had to replace both screen & touch input together. It cost me about 100 dollars.

Yep, cracked mine a while ago, and it renders whole touch screen useless unlike some other phones. Managed to replace it myself, fiddley but do-able if you have some experience in taking phones apart.
really seems to be a hardware problem....maybe the colonel can give a little hint on how to repair it.

U can operate your phone with mouse over OTG cable. Using a mouse, go to developer options and enable show touches. I saw some touch points upper of my screen around the cracked area. Btw, I was not under warranty.
Thanks for the help y all, i am taking it to the service center today, let's see what they have to say. In case repairing is too expensive, i will do it manually.

The digitizer and LCD are one, so yes you do take the risk of getting a cheap panel. There are many on ebay, i looked for one that had a similar code on the back to mine, which was a Sharp panel. I don't remember the code now...
The phone comes apart really easily, apart from the hardest part of getting the old screen off, (a real PITA). I used a hairdryer and much patience and shattering of glass (wear safety goggles). Clean it up really well, and you will also need to get some 3M double sided adhesive tape to stick the new one back on(really really thin strips). I would suggest assembling the phone and trying to see if the screen works before sticking it in place..
Let me know if you need any more advice.

Just take it really slowly and lots of repeated heat with a hairdryer, and something really thin to pry it off that wont damage the plastic parts.
Good Luck.

I've looked for the adhesive tape and found two. When you say "really thin strips" do you mean 1mm or 3mm?

It depends on which part, you need different for different places. you can see what fits. I think i bought a sheet and cut pieces from it with a very sharp knife and put them in place. But strips will work also.

Have you solve this? My dropped today and my upper part of screen became irresponsible.
Did you buy the new LCD and digitizer or only the digitizer? I thought, that in this phone it is only one part, but I saw some offers on ebay where were only digitizers.
Can you please tell where did you bought it?
Thanks

First do this - Take the phone apart, then disconnect the digitizer (you don't need to take the screen off to do this).
The digitizer has a small connector on it - Disconnect that too. Now reconnect both. Then power on your phone.
screen works > good for you
screen still dead > bad luck
I would highly recommend getting the LCD and digitizer in one. HOWEVER getting the screen + front cover is much easier as you don't need to take the old screen off and stick the new one back on (not that easy). And + you would only need to move the hardware.
FYI; If you have the 'sharp' type of display now, i recommend getting the 'sony' display (much better colors and contrast).
Sony displays have a somewhat similar code to this on the back: Z181FF0013

I have(had) the display from sony, this is why I was thinking about the digitizer only. So the display and the digitizer can split up? But I guess that I will need both parts because of the crack on the glass.
I can not find any offers where the code can be seen on the internet. But I will try to look closer.
Anyway, thanks for the tip with disconnecting and connecting the digitizer, I will definitely try it.
EDIT: Did you find any good disassembling guide?
EDIT2: Bad luck
This is the desired code? http://www.ebay.com/itm/For-Sony-Xp...e_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item2c7cc7b012

Yes, that's it. The display and digitizer can be split up, but i don't think i would mess with that..
Keep in mind that some uses pictures from sharp panels even though it's sony. Better ask for the code to be sure.
And also someone from another thread said that the phone most likely would not be waterproof after replacing the screen. . http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2169802
There's most likely disassembling guides on youtube, have a look at them

i'm shocking because of that! i dont know. maybe there are some weak points or that was quite a bad bad bad luck
but i think a screen guard ( which i removed 3days ago) could protect it a little bit better.maybe It wouldn't break if the screen guard was installed.by the way , I was expecting the touch to stand working but now my z1 is useless totally! keeps yours safe and try using a front covered case.

man the problem is money ! in Iran these parts are totally expensive (about 250 US$) just for screen!which 1$ is 3000Tomans and i just earn 600,000Tomans each month
but thanks for noticing. I may one day try to replace it by my own!
It's just bad luck m8, I feel for you but the fact of the matter is the devices now cracked and it'd be impossible to convince Sony or your provider of how it happened and to get a sympathetic ear, looks to me like you'll have to either fix it yourself or claim on insurance.
Did you insure it? How old is it if not? You may be able to add insurance on from your provider, I know EE in the UK offer this service at any time.
It's actually Dragontrail glass. But both Gorilla and Dragontrail are NOT unbreakable: they are harder, so they are less likely to scratch, but that makes them more prone to break. Diamonds, for example, are the hardest material known; but they break/chip very easily. Our phones are like that, if there's a light impact on the wrong angle the screen will shatter easily.

check THIS out !!
see under Protection: Shatter proof and scratch-resistant glass there's no one said Z1 using gorilla glass eve in worldwide
that doesn't mean that Z1's screen unbreakable! but just scratchless, hope this helpful for you.... next time see detail specs and consider carefully before bought something

The Z1 scratches quite easily. My S4 remained pristine after over a year of use, so did my Galaxy Note. This scratched within a month and continues to get minor scratches over time.
I hear you with the scratches, i've had cases on my phone since day one and there are scratches on the back of the phone, it's never been without a case and i take very good care of my devices, the front and back now have Zagg shields on them so they're ok now but yea it does scratch very easily, especially the back.
Its breakable anyhow.
It's quite breakable as far as i noticed, and also scratcahble All tested and failed..

By the way, the touch screen is too expensive like 200 euros..
It's realy looks like i gonna sell it out soon..
I was walking to my car today and dropped my phone...It landed flat on the screen. Picked it up and it had about 5 pretty bad scratches on it, but when I got home I took the stock screen protector off and it looks brand new now.

That can be only coincidence. Have you ever noticed or heard that it's getting scracthed while all protecters on ?
Wonder why they produce so expensive mobiles that breaks so easly... I think we are the lazy consumers who don't search enough
It's all about luck chaps, i've dropped a phone from the top of a cupboard which is around 9 feet up onto slate, one single dent nothing else and yet i've seen someone drop the same phone from less than 2 feet and the whole screen has smashed ? Not worth trying to figure out, once that phones in free fall it's simply a case of luck.
Oh i forgot, we also threw a 9320 blackberry down some stairs, concrete covered with lino, around 50 steps. Some bumps and bruises but no cracks
In my phone too
by the way since i dont have enough money to buy a new phone ( z1 or z2 or any other new phones) I decided to repair it  and planning for the z3 . beacuase in Iran there is no insurance for phones ( just for HTC ) and no warranty and even if I had the bootloader is unlocked so its voided . the only concern here is for replacement cares. most of repairers dont care enough so you will see the repair marks on body.
one question , the new lcd even the original one (which i want to use) has the same quality ? does it fit on body completely? the colors? every thing is the same?
I think so
so a month ago i had a massive boo boo and actually managed to trap my phone in the car door, unfortunately this has smashed the front glass and the LCD, I've found many LCD replacements on eBay and several guides on YouTube, i feel confident enough to do it, however I'm just wondering, which LCD with digitizer do i go for, I've seen some saying they have retina i know this is resolution but would it be possible to get a higher quality LCD or will they all be the same quality, i don't want a cheap Chinese copy, i still want the phone to say "Sony" at this top as it would bug me without it,
and also finally, will my phone retain it's water resistance or would this be lost?
Thanks in advanced

I don't know where to buy the parts but I do know that there are multiple lcd versions, one made by sharp and one made by jdc. Some say the one by sharp is better and some say the one by jdc is better.
Also your phone will probably no longer be waterproof

thanks, i suppose the waterproof could be retained by buying the adhesive seals from that website, i just don't know what lcd to get, was looking at ebay because they are much cheaper, but their are so many variants, has anyone ever done an LCD replacement before on here?

Hey, i've changed the monitor and i can't really tell the difference from before. To me it looks the same and the touch works fine. Just be careful while doing the work, it's not that hard. About the water resistence it all depends on how u do the work and if the adhesive u use is good. I think my z1 still has the water resistence but i don't really want to risk just to check it. Who cares at this point, i have a beatifull working z1. I used it in the rain and snow and no problem, but i don't wanna drop it in the water. Good luck

Thanks, i've just bought some new front and back adhesive from ebay,
this is the screen i was looking at on the bay : "141107022314" i want the LCD to say Sony, i think it finishes the phone off nicely, but if there's an uprated display that'd be amazing, some are advertised as uprated and Retina, but i'm not sure if the quality would be any better from the display

Inside the phone there are 2 RF cables on the left and right sides. Check both. They should be properly connected to the mainboard and the other small boards.

thanks for the reply, just had a look and both are firmly connected at both ends, although one seems to have some minor damage to the cable, although it doesn't look like enough to effect the cable inside

Make sure both RF cables are connected aswell to the tiny metal brackets on both sides. Also check the colors. Maybe wrong cable colors can affect the signal too.

damn, unlucky :\. i'm not sure actually. if not the cables then maybe u've damaged some internal component. try diasembling completely your phone as you did when you changed the monitor, just don't remove the monitor and then reasemble it back carefully. This way if some connecter isn't connected properely, it will be.
I have LETV X800 US version. Drop from 1.5 cracked the glass really nice (see attachment). I am thinking to order screen replacement from here: http://www.vopmart.com/pa1013251.html or here: http://s.aliexpress.com/iemyi2Yz
Do you think it is compatible with my US version of the phone.
I guess it should work on both CN & US but I need to ask before ordering.

I also have the same problem.
Hi
Did you find a solution to your problem ? I also have the same and I do not find the necessary help.
Thank you for your answer
In my reading the screen replacement should work on both US and CN versions....
The screen of this phone is subpar to current phone standards. Mine cracked when dropped at 30 cm from tiled floor after 3 months of use! The phone was house into its original silicone transparent protection, with a glass protection on top! The glass protection didn't brake, only the screen underneath did. I had it replaced for the equivalent of 30 euros in China in a general phone fixing shop, and made clear I did not want an original replacement. They guy came up with a good quality screen, slightly thicker than the original. I have used it without problems for 8 months now. It withstood about 4 falls from 1 meter each, but I keep the phone housed in a metal frame protection since then. The original case is bad since it doesn't protect the phone all around as it should.
I bought the screen from vopmart.
Price is ok, delivery was fast (less than a week to Germany).
Disassembly of screen was actually easier than in the videos, works pretty well.
The BIG problem was (which I did not really realize or ignore until then)...the vopmart screen replacement did NOT come with the adhesive to glue the screen to the phone.
Since I was impatient and wanted to use the phone right away, I used some own tape and glue and damaged the screen in the process.
Bottom line:
- Screen replacement is relatively simple and screen is not too expensive
- make sure you double check that the adhesive is included in the screen you order or order separately, otherwise you will not be able to replace the screen
- I second what the previous poster said....my phone fell from about 70cm and the screen was cracked pretty badly, previous phones did survive this
I bought a Xiaomi phone now. I hope/think build quality is a bit better and, more importantly, you are not stuck with Android 5...
I'm planning to order screen on Aliexpress. I want to ask you that, is your screen's colors or quality worse than original? I'm not asking for durability, just asking for quality.

I think it is about the same as the original. I am not 100% sure though since I destroyed it a little during the replacement. And I believe the color quality from the original one is not great to start with anyway.

I ordered the screen which comes with the digitiser and lcd screen but no sticker so I ordered the sticker, however some people in this thread said glue, so I am confused. What more the replacement videos don't show people putting in glue.
And originally did the phone have a sticker I think not?

So I have ordered both and have the heat gun, and the pry tools, so technically if I am not a gimp I should be able to complete this successfully.
I am just again slightly confused because some videos recommend removing the back cover and the getting to the front by doing a full disassembly whilst others recommend removing the glass directly.
Has anyone tried both methods? I would understand if you were replacing the battery also but...
Thank you in advance.
I have only tried the "front" method, so just removed the glass from the front. I found this to be pretty easy. I did this with a Sony Xperia phone before and I must say the letv was much easier.
I can recommend removing the glass from the front.
Which one is the front method? What and where did you buy to repair it?

I think you use a heat gun to warm it up and then use a suction cup to loosen it then use a razor blade to cut away the glue/sticker and slowly pry it apart.
Then you detach it, attach the new one apply the sticker and then reseal.

Hello everybody,
The son of my friend break his screen (LeTV one Pro = LeEco x800 Pro).
He bought a replacement screen, but there is no sticker to fix the screen. It's hard to find this part alone.
Can you give me an idea to solve this problem?
Regards.
