Hi Guys,
A friend of a friend has the Samsung Note 1 (N7000) and they said it crashed the other day, it was apparently attempting to do an OTA upgrade. From what I understand, it didnt boot/come back on... Which makes me think its the eMMC bug.
She took it to her network (Vodafone) and they blamed it on the phone having to many Apps, and that her son (she doesnt have a son) had attempted to Jailbreak it... (which I told her, the shop was using the wrong terminology, so clearly the shop didnt know what they were talking about. However, she said she only has 633Mb left on her main storage.

https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd....20x720/1005339_4343299680050_2090572114_n.jpg
She said the shop just removed some Apps, and it suddenly started working again. However when she runs a couple of Apps now, the screen goes blank....
Does those pics sound about for a normal used N7000... Or does it look like there is storage space missing, due to a corrupt eMMC chip?
Thanks, Lister

Hi treacherous_hawk,
Thanks for your prompt answer, and re-assuring me... I shall pass this news onto my friend (well, as said earlier... She's a friend of a friend, dont really know her other than online.. lol). But basically the way she described her initial fault with phone, sounded like she bricked due to OTA update. She then took it to the shops, and they told her she had been Jailbreaking (that only happens on iPhones, surely?? lol) plus she wouldnt know how to do that anyway... They blamed it all onto her, and said she had to many Apps installed... lol
Anyway, she gets it back... and I ask about it... (as I am planning to buy this off her when the contract runs out). And she tells me they just uninstalled some Apps and it started working again. However she told me it was a 16Gb Note, and that she only has 633Mb left of available space, and that she has only used 1.4Gb..... So I wondered where the other 14Gb went....?? She tells me she has a SD Card in it too... And so not having seen or used a Note yet, it sounded a bit odd why she only had 633Mb left....??
I'd love to get Philz kernel on it, purely so I know it will always be safe.. But never met the lady yet, plus the phone isnt mine yet.. lol
I really wonna get and use this phone, due to the size and spec of it... But just been reading some more posts, and now Im all scared of bricking, locking, or yellow triangle'ing the darn thing...
My ZTE Blade is old, and slow... But you could chuck anything at it, without fear of bricking it...
Hi Devll,
I've never seen or used a N7000 yet... However when she told me she only had 633Mb left, summit didnt sound right.. As I was expecting to see more GB's left. I didnt know the N7000 kinda partitions storage off for ROM and data. Whilst my ZTE Blade does use partitions too, what you see is what you get... ie: You get the full amount as advertised on the box... (which is a mere 240Mb... pitiful...) So when she said she had only used 1.4Gb, and only has 633Mb left... I wondered where the heck the other GB's had gone too...?? lol
Re: the Note..... I am now super worried and now debating whether I should actually attempt to purchase it off her...
1) Its from Vodafone UK, so dont know whether its SIM locked or not? I've heard all contract phones from Vodafone UK are factory UNlocked, but dont know for certain????
2) I'm ok at flashing the Philz Kernel... that bit doesnt scare me... However its the ROMs that do.
3) When I get it, I want to upgrade the rom to the latest Android (4.2.2, as like my ZTE Blade) and will no doubt go with PAC Rom or if they do a RootBox.... However I am hoping these are eMMC safe once flashed, as in there is no way/chance of me bricking it under that OS.
4) If I do get that PAC Rom on there, will my Yellow Triangle appear as its non stock. And heard that Triangle away only works on ICS??
So I'm starting to think, or look else where at a safer phone... or am I over scaring myself as to how faulty these are??
Thanks, Lister
Don't get paranoid mate its very easy to root and install custom rom on Note provided you read before doing it. Read the stickies in the development and other forum, read carefully the instructions given in the topic of the rom you are planning to install and you will be safe.
I too was worried a bit when I got my Note but trust me those who can read won't face any trouble but those who can't.... well they can always pray
Best Regards

Dont worry about the availabilty of space... Might be some virus that creates shortcuts and hides the original folders... try exploring the drive with winrar... It will show all the folders that are hidden too
Yelloe triangle is nothing to worry about... There are many methoda to bypass thebyellow triangle and even if u get one u can easily remove it

Hi,
I own a Captivate on Rogers (Canada).
I had the ROM Firefly 2.6 (or 2.4) and decided to change to something quicker or at least different.
I decided to put Cyanogen 7 on it, because many people told me to.
I succeeded in installing Cyanogen and it worked great, easy to use, fast, ultra fast reboot, nice looking... but not all the software I was looking for.
So I decided to change again to a JVQ SIMPLY.
Put it on the SD, move it to sdcard via Astro under Cyanogen and reboot in recovery mode to install update from sdcard.
It wrote that it was ok, and needed to reboot.
Now the only thing I have is "booting" from
- the very first screen with Galaxy S I9000 on it to
- a second one with Galaxy S Cyanogen(mod)
I can access the screen with the little android guy in the public works sign, yellow, with Downloading... and Do not turn off Target!!! (did it trying hard reset).
I couldn't reboot with 3 buttons (tested many methods), the one with Odin, I never ever succeeded with that one, and it continues changing from a screen to another without stopping but if I remove the battery of course.
What can I do from there?
Thank you for your help... again...
Just for clarification, did you do the Odin One-Click to stock? If you can get to the download screen (the yellow sign / "Do not turn off target" screen), you should be able to flash back to stock.
I tried the Odin 1-click, but I think that it won't work right now because I can't access the administrator rights (from work).
I must try from home tonight.
Will it remove everything like the fact it is root?
Thank you for your answer by the way.
The lack of admin rights is very possibly why it won't work. There's also the chance that without admin rights, you're not able to install the samsung drivers. Either way, waiting until you get home sounds like a good idea.
You might be able to do the Heimdall one-click without admin rights, but it would probably be wise to read up on that one first as it's in Beta right now.
The one-click to stock will put your phone in the state it came out of the box, but leave all your personal files on the phone. You will have Eclair 2.1, unrooted, straight as it came from (in your case) Rogers. Any pictures, music, etc you saved on your internal sd card (not the microSD) will still be there, but you'll have to re-root and reinstall any rom you want.
Ok, so I tried different Odin (one click) I found here, and the last one, from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1126704&highlight=odin
I flashed the PIT only, because I didnùt know what to put where... bad idea, now my phone doesn't switch on.

Sorry to have to tell you this, but it looks like you might have fully bricked yourself.
If you are still under warranty, you can try to send it in for warranty service. If not, or if you aren't comfortable taking that route, look for a member named connexion2005 (or mobiletechvideos on google), who can do JTAG service for you for $50.
The JTAG thing is the special cable made from special resistor, right?
Or do you mean it is hard break and only expert can do something?
Thank you very much for your help and your support.

You're thinking of a Jig, which is a set of resistors that kicks the phone into download mode.
Unfortunately, you need JTAG, which is a special service that rewrites the bootloaders to the phone so that it can boot normally. That's something that you either need to be fairly knowledgeable about electronics to do yourself, or something you'll need to send in (to Samsung or mobiletechvideos) to have fixed.
Yeah I thought of a jig...
Ok, I will try the warranty, perhaps it is so much messed up, they won't find anything...
I will let you know.
See you.

Good luck - hopefully your next time around with custom Roms will go better.
I did many, many things with WInMo and never encountered any brick (sometimes I was close to the cliff, but never fell).
Since I have this Captivate, I not sure to really like it, I am fond of android either, and I don't take enough time to read carefully each post...
I think it is time for me to take an iphone...
Although you could do that, I think you'll find if you give yourself a little time with Android you'll come to really like it.
Don't get me wrong - the iPhone is a well made product. But it is one thing, and only one thing. Android devices can really be anything you want.
But that's my opnion. Do with it what you will.
People like you are gold, taking time to help newbie with the always same questions, don't selling android is the best (other are selling ios is the best), ...
I'll see what kind of hone I can find, because the Atrix was a cool phone I liked, and I always liked HTC (qtek before)...
Apple is expensive!!!

Thank you. I'm just trying to repay the many favors everyone else here on the board has done for me in the past.
Definitely look around - if the Captivate isn't working for you, there's plenty of Android phones that are every bit as good. I've also had good luck with HTC phones in the past, and Motorola's not bad, either.
And yes, Apple is expensive. Can't argue with you on that one.
This might be stupid question but, is your battery charged ?
Hi,
aww.W.T.F, I hope so yes... it was on the usb for hours... you put me a doubt... I need to check now!!
I asked Rogers for warranty, they charge $35 for an exchange, and 5 days to wait, I think this is a little bit too much. But I will do it.
What I discussed with a guy is that I will finish my current subscription with Rogers and take the HTC Sensation with Virgin... Another try with android, to follow jmtheiss.
I will continue to let you know about how it goes.
If my profile is closed tonight, this will be because I will be too ashamed because I had an empty battery...
P.S. Ok it is not the battery... I'm waiting for my new one and will send this one to warranty (I'll see what they can find or not...).
Would love to know how many people have bricked their notes. Is it just an odd few or are there 100s.Has anyone had repairs ,unbricked or replaced by their carrier?
I too would like to know this.
Ok
Soft brick? I am sure there are tons, me included, a proper brick brick after which you use the phone for a coaster, don't think so many, though I have one of those too (shattered display).
Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought it was nearly impossible to brick an Android phone? When I was learning to flash and so on with my SGS, I certainly bollocked it up a lot of times (ah... misadventures with using incorrect files...). I have always been able one way or another been able to get back in and mend the damage.
With the Note, Download mode is hardwired in so I thought it would be difficult indeed to properly brick it. That said, I haven't done much with the SGN yet since it's my daily device and I leave it alone. (@torqu3e, I don't think shattered screens count towards the typical definition of 'bricked' do they? I thought it was a software f-up )
When someone says brick, I think of a phone that just won't turn on and is completely useless...but in many people's cases recently, the partition tables have been messed up and the phone is as good as useless. It no longer holds its function as an Android device. So yes, add me to the list of "bricked" Notes out there.
I got a hard brick! :-( It's in the shop..

I was talking more about bricking from flashing that dodgy ics ROM.Anyone unbricked or had it fixed under warranty.
Add me to the list. I bricked when I flashed a kernel that messed up the partition tables. Its at the service now.
one more to the list
i need to sent mine to the US
I faced a soft brick when i was flashing ics betas (mobile to pc screen) but fixed it by flashing stock rom then flashed back ics!

In ODIN while trying to flash CF-Root ICS progress bar froze on Factoryfs flash and after 30 minutes I unplugged it. Phone at this point wont restart turn on or anything. Didn't respond to JIG to go into download mode so I took it to a service center in Southern California. They tried fixing it with JTAG and it didn't respond. It is Kernel related. I got some sort of good news today from the service center that they may have found a solution and are receiving a new tool to do the trick. I am crossing my fingers and waiting for the next phone call from them that if they could get my phone up and running again!!

Thats good news just hope they dont read this thread.Lets see if you get charged or they fix for free under warranty.
Okay, obviously I was rooted. Everything was great. I went into CWM, when I was going to flash a simple script mod (which every phone can use) well I accidently clicked off into my SGII files (which of course was stupid of me) and it installed fluxii kernel for SGH-i777. (intern flashes a custom recovery for the xx tweaker that that particular kernel uses. Of course, I didn't even realize I had done it, just went to Reboot Now. Now, I've got no Download mode, no bootloader, no anything, just blackness, I feel as if there is a simple key process or way to somehow get it fixed so I can flash it back via ODIN, but with all the confusing button combo's and ideas I've found so far, and all the ' types of bricks ' I dont know the best route about doing this, whomever helps me get my phone unbricked/unsoftbricked/superbricked/cute bricked, which ever version (assuming its possible) I swear on my life I will mail them a 32GB HP touchpad.
(I have 3 and only need 2) so, I hope this in some way will get me an answer soon.
I cantbelieve I pulled a n00b. No more not moving data from SD cards for me ever again...
Thanks, and the sooner the better.
Mail me here, or gmail me ( [email protected]) or heck text me if you want (i have my SGII still) just message me priavtely for the number. Thanks you guys you're the best.

I would rccomend trying to use Odin to see if it recognizes your phone? You may have to get a USB jig to force it into download mode and you may be able to save it that way I'm pretty sure a jig would work

Yeah thats Kinda my thinking as well unfortunately, Why the hell cant they sell them at like, I derno, the "rooted developer" store? hell Samsung should just include them in the box with as easy as root is. lmao What I don't get, is why the hell someone can't make a ' USB JIG ' out of their computer, or you know, something to tickle that little ports happy spot lmfao

IN TRUE NERD FASHION: any devices you'd be willing to part with for one or two of them, I have 10 16gb the day I remember telling mom "MOM LET ME BORROW 2000 dollars I swear it will pay off take it out of my savings anything" haha...
but cash isnt whats important to me, just technology really..idk, hell they're going for ridiculous onebay right now. and err, lets just say mine dont run CM9, or MIUI, hell I have my own recovery, Webos is all i knew for a while. I also have 2 Palm pre 2's running Android via a glitch in the Launcher/Wallpaper, and a Pre 3 Running ICS hybrided with basically the apps running in the 'recent windows ' version of ICS....
I really dunno man right now is I NEED TO GET THIS NOTE FIXED ASAP anyone know like a local place to go get it fixed temporarily they've gone to before. hell XDA should buy like shipments of them. we're the only ones that buy the damn things anyway.
also one more idea i found is this: idk if it just doesnt make sense to me, but if someone can make sense of it for me, and tell me its worth a shot...by all means..explain. http://samsunggalaxyreview2.blogspot.com/2011/07/one-click-unbrick-tool-for-samsung.html

It might be worth a go man. I would reccomend having it plugged into a computer and keep trying to turn it on even if the screen doesn't turn on and see if Odin picks anything up. Its not going to hurt your device anymore :/ you could always go to a hardware store and buy a mini USB and a 300k resistor and trying to make a jig yourself if that unbrick doesn't work (which I don't think it will)

Well what do I have to lose? Potentially (with better instructions of course and a noob friendly UI) if it works on my note, ill try it on my original galaxy...who knows few tweaks and maybe all these folks suffering from bricked Notes/SII/SIII's will have an easy way to fix it. (hey guys, just let me be optimistic here.. at least unti somebody else comes up with a bright idea haha

Fixed. I'll write up a XDA guide, and no I didnt use that silly guide. I used a trick the stupid guy at samsung tech support told me about something on the back of the phone will write up in a bit.
it involves a paperclip, and a hidden compartment behind somewhere where most would never dare stick anything, its rather a hidden reset button or something I wouldnt recommend it to anyone however...if someone finds themself in a bind id gladly help, but its that way or shipping it back if done wrong basically I just got lucky.

I got a note7000 offer at a bargain price; half the price of the original... the idea is that the guy is selling it as fault emmc bug. He told me that wiping the data - factory reset caused the problem.
The phone works from times to times he said, is still partially functional, thus he still asks for the price of SII for it, which he wants to replace with.
My question is:
Is the emmc bug permanent? I want to buy it cause is such a awesome screen\phone and i cant afford one from retails at full price. My plan is to downgrade from ics to gb with safe kernels and hope it wont brick with odin as unsafe as it is already.
Don't buy it. He is selling a bricked device for half the price (I wouldn't pay that for a used but fully functional right now).
And you will always get problems with it in many different situations.
Its risky for me, but also rewarding. If you'd seen this particular phone, is almost brand new. He told me it wasn't used much and that is visible on the over all aspect. And god, i love amoled screens, even if pentile is infamous.
Could you describe what you mean by being bricked? -> the phone boots and installs stuffs, but from time to times has the flaw of getting stuck -> require reset.
Its on the way
ps. I trust that if i had this stuff happen to me, coming from a samsung product, i would be able to get it fixed somehow.
Congrats: you just bought a bricked device. I guess he used the repartition workaround which reduces available capacity.
He didn't do the only real fix: replace motherboard in Samsung Service Center.
If you read here more before buying you would understand my "do not buy". Now you will learn later.
And he didn't lie to you - he told everything about the condition.
If you want to learn now while waiting for it, start to read about bricked devices here, about hg42's repartition thread etc. You might need it
Well, wish me luck. I'm gonna follow the steps from around the topics here.
I just hope i can watch movies, and pictures, and browse the mail... then he can get stuck but just a little.
I got an ace on my sleeves though. I can test it before i buy it... any advices, maybe doesn't even have the bug, how i notice
that ?
I'm gonna try these steps on the clip from rootgalaxynote:
youtube - hDtTNDVcTF4
If it doesn't work, i'm screwed cause i do not have a replace phone atm.
Following those steps will only mean that you won't brick it again... and anyway that is really outdated... When you've had enough of constant freezes then you will probably want to try a slim rom such as Slim Bean 4.2.2
I just purchased a n7000 from a guy on eBay for $350.00. It has the Ultimate rom installed in the screenshots. This means that it should be fine, right? I should receive it this week sometime. I bricked my i9100 back when the brick bug first appeared so I'm kind of worried about this.

Thanks for replies. I dunno what to expect. It is worrying, but probably i'll return it back cause is not worth the money if you put it this way "unusable".
He said to me to add a new sd card,,, i guess here is where he was just too honest. This confirms that there is actually a permanent damage to the hardware, especially the hefty 16 GB of memory.
My friend has the bug and he did the workaround , The phone freezes when you turn on bluetooth or wifi , And also the internal memory is low , but good luck with your's btw "restarting it from time to time" seems suspicious though

Apparently that was a slight misleading. On itself doesn't restart. I got the phone right now. Is so huge even an elephant could use it.
Only freezes when i try write something thru usb cable. The ram is smaller, only 5 gb.

Really? Then it might be double-bricked and double "workarounded". Each time lossing about 3 GB...
When I close my eyes I see the grinning of this a--h-le who sold it for real money.
That sucks...
Now I want to see if is only a memory problem of the storage sd, or is as well as for the last 'bastion' of my phone, 2GB rom... cause then i can install slimbean like i've been adviced here.

First off, i'm in a bit of trouble right now. As you can guess, i can do something about it, cause beyond this is the morality of getting into a mess on someone's fault. Now that has to be decided, as long as is not mine.
This guy told me it is partially usable, add a card, try fix it yourself. At 190$ i expect to be better then a S1 or nexus s which might easly outmatch this phone. If is a matter of pride. Just keep it to yourself.
Either i give this guy a bad review as is a site as amazon, where user feedback is noted, or i return it back myself. Is not the holly grail, is just a phone.
He told me is not permanent damage.
LE: I got some good news and bad new:
I cannot add videos, it simply doesn't write. It doesn't freeze my phone anymore, this time i'm using samsung kies. Good news, i can write photos and songs.
I'm half way there in trusting this guy that with a sd card, the phone will work just okay in installing stuff.
On the other hand, i dunno if the internal storage is damaged; can i install jelly bean? or change the culprit kernel? or should i live with it as it is.
the seller has a no return policy. so ur actually screwed. you think the seller is a noob and that he didnt know about the fix. sometimes being too wise makes u feel and idiot in the end.

Even if I do not always follow qazis messages I do understand him very well - because Oxford english isn't a prerequisite here.

How was his random ranting relevant to this topic?
So what do you think... flashing a new kernel and formating the sdcard do any good?
I may have a different term for bricking: When used in reference to consumer electronics, a "brick" describes an electronic device such as a smart phone, game console, router, or tablet computer that owing to a serious misconfiguration, corrupted firmware or a hardware problem, can no longer function. The term derives from the vaguely cuboid shape of many electronic devices (and their detachable power supplies) and the suggestion that the device can only function as a large, heavy object.
As far as i see, this device has stuff installed on it, and i can't figure how he did it.
recommend me a memory error checking app if u know, please!
Flash a safe kernel and flash a new ROM.. Try that and if all works good we´ll continue..
OK, I'm going to start by saying I know pretty much nothing about rooting and I may come across as a paranoid conspiracy nut, but here goes.
I recently bought a Note 3 on Swappa. In the description, the seller said that he had removed all of the AT&T Bloatware, but the phone was not rooted. He also stated that a system reset would restore the AT&T apps. Well, the first thing I did was a system restore, but the AT&T apps were still gone. Not that I care about the apps really, but it seemed weird.
Today, I downloaded the "Root Checker" app on the Play Store and it told me that my phone was, in fact, rooted. I also downloaded SuperU and it verified that as well. I've also gotten Titanium Backup (Root) and it shows I'm rooted.
I posted a message on my sale page at Swappa mentioning this, but the seller is adamantly denying that the phone is rooted. He says they use their "own process" to remove the bloatware.
My question in all of this is is this: Is this something I should be concerned about? The seller seems less than honest about the phone being rooted. He is a "trusted seller" which is one reason I bought from him, but I'm super paranoid that there might be something on my phone that I'm unaware of. (a keylogging app, etc...) Is there any way to tell this? How do I go about truly returning my phone back to its original state? I system reset didn't unroot it.
Any advice from people out there much more knowledgeable than me about this?
EDIT: well, I took andygev35's advice and restored back to factory. However, I enjoyed playing around with the things that being rooted allowed, so I re-did it. A huge waste of time? Maybe, but at least I have some peace of mind over the whole thing now. Thanks to everyone!
If you're worried about anything unsavory that may be hidden on your phone, you could always restore back to factory condition using the guide and files in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2838117

Thanks, and holy crap - just glancing at that it looks like a total pain in the ass. This is why I never bothered to root in the first place. Do you think I'm being too paranoid? Or is is worth doing all this?
It's actually quite simple. I know it may look overwhelming at first glance, but there's really nothing to it. Basically the easiest method is to use the all-in-one file. Just download that, put your phone in download mode, plug it into your computer, run the Odin program, place the all-in-one file in the AP slot in Odin and click start.

I agree it's probably nothing to worry about, but if he's anything like me, any doubt I have will always be there somewhere in the back of my mind nagging at me [emoji15]. Restoring wipes out any of that doubt.

Don't Worry, Be Happy
Why wouldn't anyone want access to the root files in THEIR phone ???
You have root access to your PC or Mac, why would anyone want a provider to lock down their phone making things inaccessible.
You're not renting the phone, it's Yours (always try and have root access if possible).
google up moborobo and download it, its free and gives u full access to your phone, please download it and check it out -
You will love all the stuff you can do with a rooted N3 -

I guess what bugs me the most is that the seller INSISTS that it wasn't rooted, when it clearly is. Its a "methinks he doth protest too much" situation. If he just owned up to it, I'd be less paranoid. If he can't be honest about the obvious, it makes me worry about the less obvious.
I've learned a little, and I'm kind of digging some of the options available now that I know its rooted. Considering spending this Saturday to restoring it back to "normal" and then maybe re-rooting it to have some of the things that I now realize I kind of want. I'm kind of worried I'm going to funk it up though... Jailbreaking seemed to be a much easier process, and harder to screw up.
Since we now have nc2 Odin files you are relatively safe in doing a restore.

I too am a former Jailbreaker and am so glad I jumped the fence out of Apple's walled garden. I do have to say, at least Apple readily provides the latest firmware for their devices. I can't understand why AT&T won't let Sammy publish our Odin files. As @mrkhigh stated, we DO now have the Odin files (probably gained in some nefarious manner by a sympathizing Best Buy employee), so now you can safely let the experimenting begin without worry.

I'm curious to find out if it is actually a clone... The HDC Galaxy Note 3 is a damn good clone of the real thing and it ships rooted. They are pretty cheap and can fool almost anyone... If it is a clone, he might have been selling it to make more than he spent and didn't know it's rooted.
If it's not, it is possible that he either bought it from someone else and didn't know that it is rooted, or it is a stolen device.
I would call AT&T and give them the IMEI number to check that. Do not mention root or anything like that, just ask them to check it to see if it's flagged.

Pretty sure it's a real AT&T - I took it to the store and had them check the IMHO when I had it activated. I finally just uprooted and flashed the 4.4.2 stock on it (I'm learning the terminology here so hope that's right) from the first post.
The guy is a trusted seller and has sold tons of phones in Swappa. He advertises on all the Samsung at&t phones that he removes the bloatware but does NOT root the phone. But, it was.
In the end, I'm happy with the phone. Seller was less than honest about his process and hopefully he didn't steal all my bank info, haha, but the phone works great.
You have to root to remove all bloatware...
---------- Post added at 10:32 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:32 AM ----------
Good to know though. *cheers*
Yeah, I asked him about that and he said they "have their own process to remove bloatware" that does not require root".
Like I said, he was a little squirrely about it.

Im sure its probably because he sells a lot of devices and didn't realize the one he sold had root.
Then when he talked to u he realized that u r uneducated about the subject so he thought he would bs u.
Of course one would have to have root access to remove root files.
I still don't understand why ur making such a big fuss?
If u don't feel like u lucked out, (like the rest of us do) just send the flipping thing back!
Did you download free moborobo?
Before he downloads that app... Excuse me... Complete PC suite.
Why do you think he needs it? I haven't seen anything on XDA about it, other than from you. And most everything I find on google/YouTube is Arabic, Chinese and Japanese.
It seems you are trying to advert it to new users that are unknowing and willing to take advice from most anyone.
I can give 2 things right now that are the same thing and one of them does not require a full PC suite.
Oh... And they are well known on XDA to be safe to use.

Excuse me but this is not an unknown app, it has been around for years and works wonderfully !!!
I have been using it since I got my N3 at thanksgiving and it works great, installs downloaded apk files in a snap, allows you easy navigation to your entire phone.Doesn't spam you. It just works great. I'm only recommending it because I have USED it for 9 months, (and you guys can't even google it?)
Since when do mods and forum gurus recommend staying away from something they have never used it, or even spent 10 secs researching ????
