Recently got this phone and I wanted to transfer my old pictures from my old phones (samsung and Motorola) and the format is just plain jpeg. The folder contains 400 photos and maybe 50 videoclips. I transfer the whole folder from my computer to my LG:s external sd card (32gb) and all is well. When I then unplugg my phone and open the folder in the gallery, I can se all the movies and pictures but there is also alot of empty grey squares(see pics). It looks like files but not really cause there is no photo. It now reads 900 files in the folder, so I suppose it has somehowe copied all the files but into unrecognizable files?
The sceenhots beneath are from the gallery and the information about an "empty file".
I have retried copying the folder serveral times without success.
I have also looked in the folder via my computer and I can't see these "extra files".
What to do?

But small file transfers works just well. Maybe it's just to many files in one folder? Going to try to split them up.

Hi. I found a way to make htc album ignore some folders you don't want to see . For example i do not want it to show me all pictures stored in "/Program files".
You just have add values to the registry with the route of the folder you want to ignore in
HKLM/Software/HTC/HTCAlbum/Ignore
the problem is that it doesn't work for folders in the Internal Storage, like tom tom map folder ("\Internal storage\Iberia" in my case)
Any help?
Thanks
Does this work for music and videos too?
music???? its about htc album, so i guess pictures and videos, but nothing related to music..

If you store album art in the form of jpg's, then the Picture Viewer will display those mixed in with your real photos. Ideally, you would want to exclude the Music folder.
in fact, the music folder is by default excluded in my daimond, but only music folder in main memory.
the problem is that i can not manage to exclude folders in internal storage, it just doesnt work.. if someone manages to exclude folders in internal storage, we will be able to exclude any folder we want..
Don't have a Diamond for myself to try it but worth a try if you haven't already. Have you tried e.g. using "\Iberia" instead of "\Internal storage\Iberia"?
thanks for your answer. yes, i did, but did not work.
also tried "storage card\iberia" and "\%storage card%\iberia
Any update on this?
Would be nice to get rid of unwanted folders in Album...
...If I find something I will post it here...

This has been mentioned a few times before.
Connect the diamond to a PC in disk drive mode and use windows explorer to find all image files. Select the ones you don't want to see in album and mark them as hidden. Once the files are all hidden, the folders will no longer appear in Album.
Thanks man,
Stupid me never thought of that.

TY for this info mas now Album folder is usable !
This usually happens when the SD Card has been changed and you've drag and dropped the DCIM folder to the new card. Try renaming the current DCIM folder, then reinsert the card and take a new picture. Copy paste the old 100media folder to the new DCIM folder. Soft reset. Tada!

I have same problem as these others and can't find can't find solution for this:
"So I've tried everything to get music to stay on my "external" SD card (32gb Micro SDHC class 6, by Kingston). I say
STAY because its syncs fine. But as soon as I try to unconnected it ( I've just yanked it, ejected the drive from
windows then pulled it, ejected it then shut off the phone and pulled it then turned it back on, etc...) it moves 90%
of the files from the music folder to lost.dir. I've done just about everything i can think, heres a list (sorry if some of them seem silly)
unmount SD card, remove from phone, plug into computer, load songs, re-mount = all files in LOST.dir
Sync "USB Mass Storage" Using
Windows Media
VCast media Maneger = all files in LOST.dir
Motorola "motocast USB"
WinAmp
Drag and Drop to folder
sync with the "windows Media Sync" mode not "USB Mass Storage"
Windows Media
VCast media Maneger
Motorola "motocast USB" = all files in LOST.dir
WinAmp
Sync to internal memory and move files to external. = All file in LOST.dir
Now here's where it gets strange, I've done this with 2 different SD cards, (both 32gb one a class 6, one a class 10)
and the same thing happens. I've use both of these cards on 2 different phones (talked to Verizon and they just sent
me a new phone) and the same thing happens. What the heck is going on?"
and this guy:
I'm having issues with music on an external sd card, can anyone advise?
I mounted a 32Gb sd card in Samsung Galaxy 1. I then copied music into music folder on card.
This has been done using Kies and several other times using a usb card holder and Win Explorer - all with same
results...
When I turn on phone, the external media scanner runs ok. I go to music and it only shows approx 16 cds of music. The
remainder seem to be "dumped" into media folder without structure,or alternatively get dumped into the Lost.dir.
Its almost like there's a limit on the size of the memory space allocated to the music folder.
I have used other apps to rescan media. I have also reformatted the cards to ensure no hidden files or attributes.
Also tried this with another new 4Gb card with same issue.
I just got a new Ainol 7 Advanced 7 inch Android tablet (which is pretty cool for cost v's performance).
Unfortunately, this has the same issues as the Samsung.
Obviously, this is due to the same "features" of the Android O/S and its memory mgt of external cards."
I'm using a 16gig card myself and the same thing is happening. Even if I transfer files over wifi and rescan media.
Someone said "I could be mistaken, but I think you may be right about the memory limit in file allocation on that device. I know it's true of some versions of the Android Operating System. The OS wants more storage area for system activity than
or media. Some users solve that issue by rooting their device and manipulating those parameters"
also said "In Unix the lost & found directory is for orphaned files and/or directories. They become orphaned due the OS no longer having the correct pointers to those files.
and "Some tweaks such as sdcard speed tweak and other sdcard related tweaks in init.d folder is causing this problem... Try to boot your phone without them and see if it works"
So I removed what I think was a speed tweak from the init.d folder and rebooted...same thing.
There seems to be from what I've seen, a 1.8 or 2gig limit on media files on the external SD. Everything works great until you add past 2gig, then the rest goes to LOST.DIR. So I tried something, format the SD and copied over 5gig of PDF files, I got the same thing only it seemed the limit was now 3.8gig. So does anyone know how to get around these limits?
Has anyone observed a similar issue on their Motorola Razr-i (or maybe it is an ICF issue/feature)? When I connect my RAZR-i to my Windows 7 laptop, I see all folders and files in my external card but the pictures taken with the RAZR camera. When I push into the DCIM folder I cannot see the Camera folder (my camera setting is to save all pictures on the external card). USB debugging is turned on and I get the same results whetherI I conenxt as Media device (MTP) or Camera (PTP). However, when I check the content using the File Manager app on my RAZR-i, I do see the Camera folder and its content. So it is there, just I cannot see it from my laptop. Finally, when I copy it's content (via the RAZR file manager app) to another folder on teh SD card, I do see that content on my laptop...somehow the DCIM/Camera folder is being blocked from viewing on my laptop.
Another topic: my camera makes ok pictures, but I noticed: a) corseness in parts of the pictures when there is a lot of sky and b) pictures tend to be a bit yellowish. Any app I can use to correct for that? I do not see any settings/options to correct using the build-in camera app....
Thanks for any hints - I am an overall happy RAZR-i customer.

FYI: My recent update to system version "81.5.39001.xt890.Retail.en.GB" fixed both issues (and the sluggish performance when one pressing teh home button on the home screen)....
Hi there,
I am new to this forum and this is my first time posting! I have the ATT samsung galaxy S5 and I am rooted but running the stock ROM. I am relatively new to android and this is my first one after three years of having iphones. Anyway, I just got a 32gb microSD card but I am having some problems making it work with the camera. Before I put the SD card in, I had several folders in my camera, such as videos, camera, screenshots, snapchat, transferred from my iphone, etc... When I transferred from my iphone, a lot of the pictures were out of order but I learned to deal with it. When I put my SD card in, all of the folders mushed together with all my videos on the top and everything out of order. Now I just have one folder called externalSDcard and one called "camera" where new pictures are stored and one called picassa. Im not even sure if they are folders or albums! How do I restore everything to how it was before but keep it all on the SD card?
HELP!
Nothing? Really?
Really the only thing you can do I believe is put the pics on your computer and then format your SD card then put them back on in their appropriate folder. Pics go in the pictures folder and mpegs go in movies folder. Hope you figure it out.

Android will scan your phone for media files and will show all in the gallery. Now in the gallery you can create albums then drag and drop pictuers or videos into them. Also the camera folder must reside in the DCIM folder.

Exactly, the file structure on your SD card hasn't changed, but gallery app is organizing them the way it wants. What's even better is if you are storing camera pictures on SD card after having stored some on internal memory, now you have two "Camera" items shown in your gallery.
Picasa, by the way, is any pictures you've stored in picasaweb (which may be "none").
You might find a different picture viewing app more to your liking. I've always liked quickpic and now it supports viewing picasa pics as well, which was one of the only reasons to use the stock Gallery. And it's free.
The only remaining reason I have to use the stock Gallery is for those "shot & more" pictures I still want to edit (but that comes with a big bug of its own).
Thanks
Thanks so much for your help! I think I am getting things sorted out. For some reason though when I move the picture around or make any kind of changes, it changes the date from the day it was taken to when I last changed the location. I think that is why all the videos are on the top. Is there anyway to change that back? Also Im not a big fan of the gallery app so I think I'll try quickpick! Ill let you know how it goes!
Hi
Yesterday after i tried to transfer some files to my laptop through USB cable, i observed that images in my mobile (Redmi Note 10 pro) camera album are not getting opened.
The error it is showing is 'file format isn't supported or files are corrupted'.
However the same files which were supposed to be under DCIM folder...were now visible in new folder names G Cloud -> DCIM. In the file manager, in the above gcloud folder, I am able to view the said images.
I am perplexed. What happened to my mobile ? Any malware/virus? Pls help me out.
Also today..I could observe some of my contacts disappearing.
The size of the files about 20k indicates that you didn't transfer the photos but the files of the generated thumbnails (little preview pictures) for the photos.
That several files are transferred in a bad way so that only the first 20k get transferred sounds not plausible, but could also be possible.
Not long time ago I saw a thread with a similar question. You may also have a look in forums of similar devices (same OS).
