Why root your phone if ur even scared to root it yourself? It will be useless if you dont even know how to use your rooted phone. Educate yourself. Period.

It's good advice actually. When the instructions are freely available in these forums anyone paying to have it done is mad and probably shouldn't be rooting in the first place.

There's no 'bad' to rooting. You just get root permissions, which in turn gives to access to the root directory, which also means apps that modify files in the root directory can run, this can add functionality to the phone.
If you don't have good reasons to root, don't do it. You'll know if you really need root or not.

Think of it as an upgrade. Rooting makes backing up your phone alot easier.

Crazy about android but noob on making root or etc....
rooting will allow apps to run with elevated user permissions (god mode)
Some apps like adblockers requires root rights. Usually a switch user (su) command is used to elevate rights.
If any app is requesting root rights, a popup will appear and you can confirm root access. This can be set permanently or each time on request.
heres a bit long process for 253 root http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2287149

Do You need root?
If You like to delete some useless apps which You cannot delete without root acces or You wanna install apps which must have root access to be installed and used - than YES.
If You are not in need of those things - don't bother rooting.

Rooting allows you to unlock the full potential (at least 80%, Unlocking bootloader the other 20%) of the Xperia, stock sound is really quiet so even if you root and install puresound mod is worth it

Why?
In fact can both of you guys provide sources of your claims?
Use Bin4ry's one (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460) to root .534 and update via prerooted.zip, Kingo steals your IMEI.
oh no. really? i just found out about this. i've already rooted my z1 with kingo. what do i do now?

Not entirely accurate.
The IMEI numbers were read. But at the moment we're unsure if they were read and stored somewhere like 'Chinese servers'
Over 80% of xperia users have used this kind of tool. Once you've used it then you might as well use it again.
If you have not used a tool like this, then its recommended that you wait.
wait for what??
- An exploit to root this device probably wont eventuate as most of us have already used a tool like this to root. So developers are not interested.
- For the company that develops the ROOT software to get back to us and assure us that there is no problem??...
You need to make the choice if you use it or not..

We have exploit to root 534(by Bin4ry's CLEAN rootkit), so we don't need Kingo anymore.
We don't want unknown person to touch IMEI, even they don't store data.
So this is all about, I heard Vroot and Kingo are suspicious apps. I don't like that. Why people using them anyway if they are not clean?
Hi guys, just received my Z1s yesterday and I'm enjoying the phone itself so far, but I'm more used to Nexus, & Samsung devices, so I'm a little lost. I did hear the bootloader is locked down on this phone but is there a way for me to gain root at least so I can at least use apps like Titanium backup, n stuff??

this sounds illegal !
but who cares
+ flashing uncompatible firmware or kernel can do this. (for example flash kernel of s4!!!)
BUT is thr anyway to know u were unlocked or not...
if i be instead of ur region service center i wouldn't accept ur phone cause first step of doing something with android is unlocking + rooting ! but this becomes a scenario; now service should think u were stupid (sorry) and didn't have any knowledge and f*up ur phone and ..................................
btw there might be way to know it for example ur phone logs on sony servers or any other servers that they can check it!
(one good thing is almost centers don give sh* with these and will replace ur phone!)
:good:
Thanks guys.. I hope it will help people to get there phone replaced.. Ofcourse it will be a wrong way.. But its okey..

You..

Try to flash a kernel, but immediately disconnect the USB cable
Take a 6 inch nail and a hammer, place the spikey end of the nail on the screen and hit the other end reasonably hard with the hammer. Boom...instant hard brick.

Yes! ..but you miss a best part. It's not covered by Warranty! ..hahah...
Well yes i knw.. But the question itself to be self understood that its been asked about how can v find loopholes in warranty if some f***up is done.. Also only for knowledge.. Who gives a **** about warranty .. My Z1 is already 5 month old just have to take care till 12 months after that warranty has nothing to do
