Custom roms - Sprint HTC One (M7)

Is there still the problem with the partitions if I flash a custom rom such as aokp Or cm 10.1? I'd like to flash one but last time which was a couple months ago I had the problem of having to reformat data to get my sd card back to normal in order to go back to a sense Rom . Thanks for any input

I was never aware that AOSP Roms were corrupting storage. You had to format your storage?
Or do you mean the whole 4.1 > 4.2 thing? Where a 0 folder would be created?

This is what your looking for.

Yes. You are correct. Does the problem still remain where multiple folders are created? Thanks

It does and always will. But there is this flashable zip that moves all the files for you. You can search this forum and find it.
EDIT: whoops! Look above. That's the zip.

[SOLVED] Unstable accelerometer on ICS rom

I'm desperate with this one please help me! I'm using SlimICS but it seems like i have a miscalibrated accelerometer. I tried apps to calibrate but doesnt work. I read somewhere about the sensorcalibutil_yamaha located in /system/bin/ but I cant find mine. Cant play asphalt or any landscape accelerometer games bacause it kept tilting. I searched everywhere regarding this but still cant find an answer. Im using semaphore kernel in case it has something to do with this.

Solution: I flashed back to Gingerbread rom, did the horizontal calibration and flashed custom ICS rom. Works for me
Go into settings/display/horizontal calabration.
Please hit thanks!

that wont help. As I've said, im on ICS rom and horizontal calibration is not in the settings. I tried gps status but didnt work either. I'd like to know how to calibrate it with emulator.

Well if you go back to gb and calabrate then go back to ice that might work. Unless of course you tried that already. Make backups in TB first if you don't want to lose anything.

I've got the same problem but I really really don't want to reflash my phone 2 more times. Is there a way to calibrate? I'm currently on Cyanogen Mod 9 Nightly Build
Thanks

I dont think there's another way buddy. I've searched everywhere but nothing helps. Flashing to GB rom is the only one that helped me.

Try reflash the rom you're on then u don't have wipe, only clear cache and dalvik
Maybe format system in recovery, find it in mount/storage and clear cache and dalvik, then reflash rom
I'll be putting the new nightly in a second so I'll try that. What will happen when I format system?

Phone stuck at splash screen please help!

I've followed the instructions below for installing jelly bean and my phone will do everyhing but once I flash the jelly bean ROM (and I've tried 3 different ones) they all get stuck at the boot screen. The phone is unlocked, rooted, has ext4recovery, blackrose, sd partitioned . Current ROM is cm 10 and its sitting at the cm screen. It will go into fastboot. Everything was done according to the instructions. What is missing. Please help me. Been working on it for hours.
Thank you

Is your partition layout 268/168/0? Can't really read it on that small picture. If it is, then there's your problem. Or do you have an ext-partition for A2SD on your µSD-card for userdata?
Unfortunately, no it is an 8. Darn. I also do not have that other thing you asked installed on the card.
I just can't quite understand why it appears that everything is set up right but just gets stuck at that boot screen.
Please if you can help, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

So it's 268/160/8 ? Then there's still your problem. It should be 268/8/160 [system/cache/userdata].
Thank you soooo much!! I have a question. How do I change it ? I wonder how come it isn't right.. But, most importantly I am grateful for you helping me.

You can change it by using blackrose.exe or by flashing one of these partition layouts in your recovery.
I believe they are not all on the front page, so search inside that topic too if you can't find your preferred partition layout.

Resize BlackRose (system : 260, cache: 8 , the rest will automatically be set to userdata).
And install 4EXT recovery on your phone and re-partition your SD card. That is what tommert38 has mentioned over there. You need atleast 1 GB of space in order to install apps onto your SD card.
recovery flashable zip of 260/8/168

No, you would not need that. a2sd comes with the JB Rom you are going to flash be it Evervolv or Vijendrahs

OK. I went back and saved hboot to sd card then followed instructions exactly. When I flashed the hboot it quickly flashed a screen and all I saw was installation aborted then it rebooted me back to the fastboot menu. Any suggestions???
Thank you

Infinite first boot after flashing Droid 4 with CyanogenMod 10.1

Howdy.
I've just flashed CyanogenMod 10.1 - 20130315 to my droid 4 with Safestrap, and I haven't been able to boot into it; the cyanogenmod splash screen with the rotating wheel graphic shows up, but it spins for upwards of 40 minutes without doing anything.
I followed the guide on the cyanogenmod wiki for the droid 4 device. The forum won't let me post a link to it.
Before I installed I wiped / factory reset, and after install I wiped cache/dalvik; still no dice. I've tried doing the same process several times (even wiking the system before trying to reflash), but the same result has always occurred: ever unhelpful eternal wheel...
I'm a bit at my wits end; I haven't been able to find any other information about this that wasn't solved by wiping cache / dalvik, so I turn to y'all for help.
Are installing on ROM slot 1? Also, you used to have to wipe data before booting the first time. Not sure if this is still the case but might want to give it a shot.

That would be my guess too, make sure you created a rom slot and flashed to that, rather than flashing to the stock rom. The only roms that work when flashing to the stock rom are stock-based roms such as olegfusion or eclipse.
Hey guys don't shoot the newbie, but where can I find the how to root post???

Resize Safestrap ROM Slots?

I'm currently running CM 10.1.2 in rom slot 1 as my only rom. Unfortunately I don't think the 2 gb data partition I created at the beginning is going to be enough for much longer... does anybody know a good way to deal with this? Is there a way to resize a partition after creating it?

I don't believe you can resize the partition after creating it. What you can do is back up your CM slot, delete the slot, recreate it with a larger data partition, and then restore your CM backup.
That makes sense... thanks kwyrt!

Is there any disadvantage creating a rom slot like it can lessen the lifespan of phone's internal memory?

Just boot in to safestrap, select "Backup", select where you want to save it, name it, then slide the toggle and it will back up your current ROM slot. Piece of cake.

Necro-ing to say this worked for me. Thanks kwyrt.
I didn't even realize I made a small slot until I went for months fighting against space limitations, wondering why DiskUsage wasn't recognizing all of my internal storage. Slot1 has been such a daily (read: only) driver that I didn't even think about safestrap's slot partitioning.
