How to repair touch screen (Update:24.09.12)

I repaired my touch (Update fail)
Instruction for you:
1. Download Android SDK (+ adb driver)
2. Download java
3. Download this (touch_tool):

6a. Connect your phone
6b.Look in the device manager and search this (Samsung ADB):

It didn't work for me
in step 8 when i click in call at the bottom bar of the screen that showed my phone screen nothing happened so I couldn't type that damn code
any suggestion?

USB debugging OFF !!!
Usb Debugging was set to off before my touchscreen stopped working due to the failure of touchscreen firmware update.. is there any way so that I can turn it on and proceed with the method .. plz HELP .. I really want my phone back
can fix the problem be fixed .. if I give it to the service center??

This working:
1. Download chocobread (debugging enabled-default)
2. After installation (Try install without wipe) download Android screencast for PC (extension .jnlp or similarly)
3. you can use mouse as touchscreen
4. Update drivers (you can enable wi-fi in phone and connect with network)
5.If you have success, reboot and working
If you have Chocobread and debugging is disabled make wipe

Will Chocobread rom for mini work on S5830I ??
The Rom is For galaxy mini...i have galaxy ace 5830i ... will the rom work on my device.....
Or is there any rom for s5830i in which usb debug on by default !!

Find ROM with USB debugging for your device (ask in S5830i section)

No roms for ace i with usb debug on
found no rom for my device with usb debug on by deafult...im totally frustated now !!!!
i m taking it to the service centre tomorrow...my phone is still in the warranty period..my final question is..will they be able to fix it..or my phone is dead forever

I failed to call
I followed all steps but when it came to run androidscreencast it only dispalay the locked phone.,
I cant unlock it as to call but yet I can only rotate it.
I tried to call from the bottom toolbar nothing happens.
Do it need to check superuser permission?!
If so how can I do it?!

I have Galaxy y duos gt s6102 ... will the rom work on my device.....
Or is there any rom for s6102 which usb debug on by default !!

Flash a i9000 rescue kit from My Android Collection or a solution from My Android Solutions Flashing guides in My Guides and Manuals

Unbricking i9000 step by step
If you have download mode, you are on the safe side.
Just flash any stock ROM now here just one example how you can do it (my little step-by-step guide):
Before you start, make sure:
- that the driver of your phone is properly installed on your PC
- Samsung Kies is not active (make sure it doesn't work in the background / kill it in the task manager)
- download Odin 1.82 or earlier (don't use later Odin versions as they like to freeze by unbricking the i9000)!!
1. Download the PIT file for your i9000 (s1_odin_20100512.pit) from this thread:

2. Download stock ROM fitting the region of your device, here you can get for instance stock Froyo 2.2.1 ROMs:

The downloaded file must be unzipped, best by using 7-Zip
After unzipping, you will have THREE files (with adjective PDA, Phone and CSC)
3. Run now Odin 1.82 as administrator(!)
- PIT: the file downloaded in step 1 (it will automatically check the "re-partition, don't change it)
- under PDA, PHONE, CSC choose the unzipped 3 files from step 2
- run your i9000 in download mode with 3-button-combo
- connect it now to your PC (all three options will be checked: Re-Partition, Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time)
- Odin must show now <Added!> in lower left field and ID:COM will display port number in upper left field in yellow color (if it doesn't appear, stop here and install again Samsung mobile driver on your PC)
- if <Added!> and ID:COM port number are there, click on "Start"
- take your beer, wait until Odin finishes the work, your system will reboot and you will get stock ROM with Froyo 2.2.1
4. Root:
- enable USB debugging in your new stock Froyo 2.2.1 phone under: Applications/Development
- download SuperOneclick by Shortfuse and unzip it with 7-Zip
- connect your i9000 now with your PC and wait until it is recognized (sound for "new hardware")
- run now (unzipped!) Superoneclick as administrator and click (on the left) the big button "Root"
- if SuperOneclick asks to install Busybox, do it
- if the Superoneclick wants to run the test, you can do it but you don't have to do it, sometimes it just freezes...
Your i9000 is rooted now
Check the root status with some root-checker app
After this, you can flash whatever: now you only need to install the CWM recovery (or flash via Odin some kernel that already features the CWM recovery, like SpeedMod kernel or so)
And be always very careful, before you flash anything new, read, read, read or ask wise people. Learn before and never flash anything that doesn't fit your device or ROM. Also never try to restore nandroid image done with different kernel, different CWM recovery version or different ROM than one you're currently running before you are 100% sure that all is compatible.

Great! Don't worry if SuperOneClick angers, there are also other methods. Remember that in superoneclick phone doesn't visibly appear like in Odin, that's why I wrote you to 1: connect phone, 2: listen after the PC sound of "new hardware detected", 3: after you hear it 4: start SuperOneClick and 5: just press "root".

Congratulations! I'm glad for your i9000.
One can root it on many ways, I've suggested you just one of them. It is normally safer way first to root and afterwards to flash the kernel.

Help me unbrick an i9000
My friend purchased a used Galaxy S i9000 from eBay, it had gingerbread and everything was working fine. He then decided to install some Custom Rom on it and he screwed everything up and brought to me a bricked Galaxy S.
The phone now has a clockwork recovery which does nothing, I've tried doing everything from it. I tried to wipe cache, repartition, toggle USB, install from zip for trying a stock zip rom. Nothing works clockwork recover keeps giving errors about missing data/recovery files. Odin does not detect the phone in Download Mode.
I then googled more and came across Heimdal 1.3.1, I searched and found out some heimdal packages. I did the Zadig driver which shows the phone as "Gadget Serial" but the driver gets successfully installed in Win 8. I then fired Heimdall selected the "XWJVZ_heimdall.tar.gz" file and pressed the Start button in Flash after ticking Repartition, This is what I get :

Detecting device...
Claiming interface...
Setting up interface...
Checking if protocol is initialised...
Protocol is not initialised.
Initialising protocol...
Handshaking with Loke...
Beginning session...
Session begun with device of type: 0
Uploading PIT
ERROR: Failed to send file part packet!

...... and again when I press the Start button, this comes:

It seems like the wrong re-partition has been done by your friend. Unbricking should work easy, look up on this page my post#3 (17th Aug) and go step by step, it should unbrick it. I hope it will help once again....
Before start, first check if you can reach download mode, like this:
remove the battery
now keep power button pressed for one minute without the battery (reset)
insert battery and try 3-buttons combo for download mode (volume down & power & home buttons)
if you can reach it, remove battery again, then just go like in upper post, find ROM for your region. Those ROMs get flashed with PIT file which makes proper re-partition again and after it you should have good working stock i9000. Then you can root it and flash whatever you want. Insert battery again short before start, when Odin is already prepared with files, because i9000 likes to "asleep" if download doesn't start soon after entering the download mode.

Since your friend bought this from ebay the likely hood it may not be an i9000 has to be considered as other ROMS may cause this scenario if it is an M110S disguised as i9000

Thank you for your support. I tried what you said but still was unsuccessful on my computer. I then redownloaded the drivers transferred your files and the drivers to a fresh Win 7 32bit PC and Odin detected the phone
I was able to unbrick using your files and the stock rom... seems Win 8 64bit was causing problems here.

yup, windows vista and up running on PC's can be a painful experience for flashing, best to use lap top, they seem to work better for flashing

[q] my galaxy pocket wont start nor can i enter recovery

HEY GUYS !!
I am new to xda so im not sure if i have posted it at the right place.
anyway, my phone (galaxy pocket GTS5300) is rooted runs on infuzion 2 kernel and has hydroperia v2 custom rom(i followed the instructions from xda)
so recently i wanted to increase its ram so i partioned my external sd and installed swapper 2 (just like the post in xda),everything went all right
then i downloaded "file2sd"" from play store and installed it to gets some space in my phones internal memory but as i opened the app and selected
the format as ext3 the said i have to reboot and i pressed the "" restart now ""button,thats it and the phone just got stuck i waited for some time no buttons responded so removed the battery and tried turning it on but it just shows a blank screen after showing the model no. and i CANT enter recovery mode but i can enter odin (but my laptop does not recognize the device,eventhough i have tried installing all the usb drivers and kies ,i dont know if its because of the data cable or windows8 or my phone ) so i removed my external sd copied all my files and saw (in mini tool partition wizard)that my 2nd partition was full(512 mb)i didnt know what to do and i formatted everything(sd).
i dont know what to do next .someone please help!!!

So you can actually enter the "download" mode. Thats good at least.
Win 8 comatible driver --> Samsung 1.5.27.0
Which version of odin do you use? This will wotk for you --> Odin 3.07

Check under device manager if it shows usb device with yellow triangle while phone is connected to computer (Be sure to set show all devices)

when i used to connect the phone it would show "usb device not recognized".i tried reinstalling the usb drivers but no use.

go to recovery mode by pressing vol up + home button + power button (Hold for 10 seconds)
Now in recovery mode select apply update from sd card and select cwm file...
Now in cwm mode again go to apply update from sd card ...
Select Stock ROm ZIP...
You will now boot normally

you have extracted samsung drivers in a folder on your desktop????
right mouse button on unknown device - install driver - searh pc for drivers -> show list -> select folder where the samsung driver is stored -> unmark "compatible devices" and then you can manually select a device if it shoes not compatible -> ignore just install
before we fill 20 more pages may be you can install "gtalk"?

the soft brick software will not do as i can access odin

MAN did you installed driver as i said? when its showing Samsung USB comosite device --> flash stock rom with odin. S5300 Stock firmwares make sure to have your region
Your phone has to b connected in "download" mode (by pressing the 3 button combo)
If you cant enter download mode? release battery and connect phone to pc with usb cable then press Vol- and home and power and put back in battery while. Your computer should get the device.

Sry for that complicated chat, but its not that easy using a browser based chat for that. Also you got more then 1 person tell what to do. Seems not workin that good...
So if something is still not cleat, may be install GTalk for easier chat or teamviewer that i can "show" what i mean.

sorry for responding late i tried all that you said but no luck.
i am beginning to suspect it is the problem of the cable or of the phones jack

Just install Kies and uninstall that USB driver . Download files exept .pit and try again . If boot is force closing , go to recovory mode . It should work . Worked in my case

First of all, This is not my original work. All credits goes to quangnhut123, who modified this tool for us. I am just sharing this GUIDE for easy flashing KZD to L90
I have tested this method myself and it is working perfectly for me, but it is also possible that it might not work for you for some reasons, so don't panic, just post your problem or whatever error you are facing (please attach screenshot if possible). I or other thread members will try to troubleshoot it. After resolving the problem I'll update this post, so that other members do not face such problem again.

Flashing KDZ removes Root and CWM, so you will need to root again.
Flashing KDZ does not wipe your data, but if you get bootloops you need to hard-reset it, so please backup data first.

1. Download KDZ file
To download KZD for you Device GOTO http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?firmware=1
Enter IMEI no of your device.

Enter IMEI Number of your LG Device and press Download Button. It will generate a download link for kdz file.
Be warned the KDZ that your going to use will be auto deleted (may be not) so make another copy
2. Precautions:-
Please temporarily disable any Adblock add-on in your browser and I recommend to check your host file
C:Windows\system32\drivers\etc\host
Enable Show Hidden Files in Folder Option (Don't disable this option until kdz flashing process completes) and Delete the LG Mobile Tool folder (if exist) from
C:\ProgramData\
Remove all other USB devices (external HDD, backup drives, other phones, etc.) and cables connected to PC to avoid issued due to voltage loss.
OFFLINE KDZ FLASHING DOES NOT LOOSE PHONE DATA, BUT YOU MUST BACKUP YOUR PHONE IN ANY CASE.
3. Downloads:-
Download zip file attached below.
4. Install LG Drivers (internet required for this):
Extract B2CAppSetup.zip anywhere on PC and Run B2CAppSetup.exe as administrator. Accept Agreement and a window will appear. Click on OK button (Bottom Right) on instructions. Now connect your LG Device to PC in LG Software mode. B2CAppSetup tool will detect it. Now Click on Install USB Drivers (2nd option on Top Left). It will automatically download and install drivers for your device. If Install USB Drivers options goes grey (Disable) after detecting phone, it means latest USB Drivers are already installed.
After installing USB Drivers please REBOOT YOU PC
Now Connect Phone in Software Upgrade Mode: Switch OFF the phone and Press VolumeUP button and insert USB cable into the phone, Now phone should show Firmware Upgrade Mode.
Let windows load any drivers, wait until it finishes. TWO ENTRIES SHOULD APPEAR IN DEVICE MANAGER IF DRIVERS ARE PROPERLY INSTALLED
After installing device drivers unplug the phone from PC
5. Starting The Installation Process:
Extract LG Flash Tool 2014.zip to C:\ drove of PC.
Open LG Flash Tool 2014 folder and run LGFlashTool2014.exe and administrator.
LG Flash Tool 2014 windows will appear.
Select "3GQCT" in Type of Flash.
Select "EMERGENCY" for PhoneMode.
Select your KDZ file in the Select KDZ File box.
Press "Normal Flash" button. (as pic below)
IMPORTANT: Do not change the names of the KDZ files. (They should look like.... "D41010a_00.kdz" or other version in same style.)
Now "Read Phone Information" box will open with blank information, Just press "Start"
Now "Select country and language" small box will open. Here select "Different Country" and "English" and press "OK"
The utility starts the official LG Mobile Support Tool
After a few seconds a screen will appear saying "The phone is disconnected from PC.". Do not click on any button.
Now again connect phone in Software Upgrade Mode: Switch OFF the phone and Press Volume UP button and insert USB cable into the phone, Now phone should show Firmware Upgrade Mode and click retry button.
Now actual flashing will start, and if your KDZ file is good flashing will end without any issue.
JUST RELAX!! SIT BACK WITH HANDS FOLDED BEHIND HEAD AND WATCH IT HAPPENING.
When it finishes full flashing and phone will start rebooting.
YOU CAN REMOVE CABLE AFTER 100%, AND FLASHING IS FINISHED!!! Close all programs.

In case of Bootloops try this :-

Heving Problem.....
Here are some troubleshooting steps :-
Check USB Derives installed properly for L90.
When you connect phone in software upgrade mode with PC, Make sure Device Manager Showing Phone is connected.
Disable any firewall or antivirus if active.
when flash tool prompts to reconnect the phone or saying device not found, just unplug phone==> pull battery out ==> insert it back==> Reconnect phone in software upgrade mode and retry flashing.
If still not working, then quit flash tool => Restart PC => This time first connect phone in software upgrade mode to PC=> then launch flash tool and try to flash .
Disconnecting and reconnecting phone for several times could also helpful.

This flashing process should recover phone from softbrick and bootloops. Try flashing KDZ in software upgrade mode :fingers-crossed:

This also works for the Optimus L9....in case anyone wants to know. I used this on that one and my Optimus L90. Thank you @gdjindal.

I went to the download site and put my IMEI for 1st number,,, i got a download file... Indian..
But i put 2nd imei also and second file i am downloading, but it has same file name.....
SHould i download both or only 1 will do ??

I am surprised by your question
But download only one KDZ file, it doesn't matter what IMEI number you use to generate the download link.
With both IMEI numbers the same link will be generated, so download with any link but only for once.

I want a v3.4.x kernel for the LG OPTIMUS L90 (D415) that has iptables/netfilter built in. Then I can get SSH tunneling to work.
With my Sprint Epic I would use a tool called Odin, is the method of flashing a kernel to this phone the same? Can anyone get me the instructions on how to do it properly? I'd assume it is much different. What is this KDZ thing about? How come there are no [KERNEL]'s or [ROM]'s posted in this L90 forum?

Because Display in myphone FLICKER.. and LG service center its wrong of software, meybe i used another version and flicker is fixed.

Because I have never flashed kernel to any phone, so I also don't know how to flash kernel to LG Phone. KDZ is extension of LG Phone's Stock Roms or Stock Firmwares (Eg. : V10C_00.kdz) . To flash a kdz file you need LG Flash Tool (Download from Attachments)

[Solution] Android one Hard Bricked Device

Hi guys , finally i came up with solution to revive your Android one device from dead . ( yeah u have heard me right )
Please read this tutorial fully don't skip anything in between and have patience .
My phone : Micromax AQ4501
What you need ?
* MTK device drivers https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BwbnsFYGZUGcdTduWkpLVjhTR1k
* SP flash tool latest ( v5.1604 recommended)
* Stock Rom for your Device ( I've used Micromax_AQ4501_V9_29.08.14 from XDA Firmware )
This tutorial is only for Hard Bricked Devices .
Want to know whether your phone is hard bricked ? Answer this following questions ...
1 . Your Phone doesn't turn on . (Even charging symbol won't be shown).
2 . No matter how many times you flash it , it won't work .
One last thing :
Your phone must be detected in computer , atleast connecting sound . If not your Motherboard is dead ( I'm sorry , i can't help you in this )
Firstly install required drivers for phone ,
Your Phone requires two drivers , Preloader driver and VCOM driver ( most of you already have it if not i've provided the link above :fingers-crossed: ) and remove your phone's battery .
DON'T CONNECT YOUR PHONE ( ! IMPORTANT)
STEP : 1 -- Open your SP Flash tools , goto options , then select download , Tick two checksum ( USB and Storage ) .
STEP : 2 -- Now select your location of Scatter file ( available in Stock ROM folder ) .
STEP : 3 -- Goto Format menu and select Auto format flash and press start .
STEP : 4 -- Now connect your phone (press volume down button and connect with battery). If you installed drivers connectly , then sp tools will detect your phone and it will format it .
STEP : 5 -- Disconnect your phone . select " Download only " Option . Press Download and again connect your phone without battery.
STEP : 6 -- Patience , it will finish and Display " OK " with Green box .
Voila ! I've have just revived your phone ! . Your 90% done . Once u turn it on ,
You will find two bugs
1 . No IMEI numbers
2 . NVRAM problem ( Wifi error )
Search through XDA for solution for these two , people has solution for these .

Known Problems and Solution .
Check Sum Error : It means your firmware has some errors . Try with other stock firmware for your device.
If you are getting errors , after flashing try holding VOLUME DOWN throughout the download process till green box appears.
One thing turn off internet while doing driver installation because your windows will update the driver and it cause your phone not being detected by SP tools.
To remove old driver . Goto Device Manager and Connect your phone in META . Preload Device will be displayed . Quickly right click on it uninstall.

Your Phone requires two drivers , Preloader driver and VCOM driver ( most of you already have it if not i've provided the link above :fingers-crossed: ) and remove your phone's battery .

STEP : 5 -- Disconnect your phone . select " Download only " Option . Press Download and again connect your phone without battery.
STEP : 6 -- Patience , it will finish and Display " OK " with Green box .
Voila ! I've have just revived your phone ! . Your 90% done . Once u turn it on ,
You will find two bugs
1 . No IMEI numbers
2 . NVRAM problem ( Wifi error )
Search through XDA for solution for these two , people has solution for these .

Same here, used Flash tool and Firmwire as told by the OP

my computer detect phone and after some second it don't. this continuously happen

usb error?
I recently flashed a rom onto my phone. I hard bricked it. I plugged it into my computer and it said it recognized my phone as a snapdragon qcomm processor. I unplugged it and plugged it back in. now my computer says it malfunctioned. Is there a fix for this. I really want my phone back and I know They won't repair it since I rooted it and flashed twrp.

Check Sum Error : It means your firmware has some errors . Try with other stock firmware for your device.
If you are getting errors , after flashing try holding VOLUME DOWN throughout the download process till green box appears.
One thing turn off internet while doing driver installation because your windows will update the driver and it cause your phone not being detected by SP tools.
To remove old driver . Goto Device Manager and Connect your phone in META . Preload Device will be displayed . Quickly right click on it uninstall.

Use the installer that automatically installs all the signed and signed drivers automatically. Will do the link when I find it.

So, a while ago I soft bricked my lg tribute, so I downloaded the firmware for an Lg tribute 2 consisting of a tot file and a dll file, the dll file is called lgupwebdl.dll, so I assume the firmware I have downloaded to my computer isn't the right one for my hardbricked lg tribute 2 (I'm really bad with devices I guess) since now I'm trying to unbrick my device with mediaTek and Sp flash tool. So, will the firmware I have right now cut it for mediaTek? If it won't, could you point me to the place where I could download the proper files to unbrick my device using mediaTek? Thanks!

To flash using SP Flash Tool, you need a firmware package, not a custom rom. Every firmware package contains a scatter file in .txt extension. See attached image.
If you can't find scatter file. Maybe you got wrong firmware.

Ok, where should I get firmware package from? Phone is a Samsung galaxy s3 i9300 Canada. A bricked one. :silly:
