My Note does not starts, please help. - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

First I want to apologize if this issue is already treated in the forum, my English is not so good and I don't know how to find it. I will appreciate if someone can help me to fix the problem or to find the right thread.
The phone was working normally, battery was fully charged, then it started to change the bright of the screen and suddenly the battery was low. Some seconds after that the phone turned off and it does not start again. When I try Samsung Galaxy Note logo appears and then it turns off again. If I try recovery mode it doesn't start but I can put it in download mode if the phone is charging. (If not, a no battery message appears). Anyway, I cannot backup and I cannot use the phone. Android version was up to date and the phone was rooted. I would like to backup it if possible but if not I would like to tray a hard reset, but I cannot do this without recovery mode...
Thanks

You could start with trying a different battery.

I will try this, I get the battery in 2-3 days. If not I will tell in order to try other solutions. Thanks

I think the problem is the battery, too.

It was the battery, with a new one works fine.

What were you doing before it bricked? ie. Were you flashing something, using it to hammer nails, or mixed it up for soap in the shower?

I wanted to install cm-9-20120804-NIGHTLY-captivatemtd on the device. Actual the installation was successful then when i was trying to restore my backup. it now stoped in d process of installing boot sector. after which remove the battery to start again. that was when it started showing that. actuall when i press power to on it doesn't respond but it only show the display when i plug my charger or usb to computer.
I had exactly the same problem. Use a program called one-click unbrick, that will get your phone back into download mode. After that you can use odin to restore stock. Watch out though, I was very happy when this all worked and I booted into stock only to find out that restarting the phone would brick my phone even worse than it was before. Now the computer wont even pick it up at all and it is stuck in a white at&t bootloop screen when I turn it on. When it is plugged in, all I get is a grey battery that isnt charging and it will not go into download mode. I don't know what I did wrong so I cant tell you how to prevent this problem so just be careful.
A jig would likely be your best option to force your phone in download mode.
If you haven't tried it already, try flashing a stock rom using Heimdall. I've had much better luck using that program than Odin with my own phone.

droy... The problem you're describing is exactly what happened to the first cappy I had, fortunately for me, I did it within a week of getting the phone.... I took it to an AT&T service center *aaack*, they were nice enough to tell me that there was nothing they could do and that I should be able to get it sent back in. Fortunately for me, it was right around the time when the 2.3.5 stock update came out and there were a few other people that were having somewhat similar problems. To try and fix it, I tried the jig, which I constructed myself only, ran the meter tests and found out that it didn't work after trying 3 different ones. I sent it back and got another, fortunately, I haven't ran into the issue again, so I think it may just be some kind of fault on the board given that I've never read of anyone else until now running into the problem
Thanks youall, gr8 help

[Q] screen will not stay off.

Hi every one this is my first post and was wondering if anyone has had this problem come up.
My wife has the I9000 and a couple months ago it started to show this problem of everytime the phone is in standby the screen keeps coming on or about a second or to then goes off for about a second the then on and it will keep doing this till it runs the battery down.
I have tried to do a complete ROM install fresh and factory resets and custom roms and the phone still keeps doing it. is there anything i can do or is the phone beyond fixing unless i take it apart??
Thanks
Andy
Hi,
This sometimes happens to me also. Reflashing does not seem to help.
The one thing that seemed to do any difference was to turn off the device, remove battery, sim card and SD card. Then plug them all back in and start the phone.
This sometimes worked or at least minimized the number of problems, but not a permanent solution.
Although your problem could be something completelly diferent.
No arm in trying this suggestion
Hi thanks for the reply.
I havd tried that. Atp the moment it has no sc card or sim card as she got a galaxy mini to use for moment and it still dose the same thing.
It is quite anoying as ya have to have it plugged into charge all time as batt drains really quickly.

One possibility is a hardware problem. Maybe one of your phone's buttons (home, power, or volume) is grounded and keep on contacting.
Another possibility is a program that is running automatically. If you're on ICS or JB, you can check your running apps in Settings/Apps/Running and see if there is a running app that can be stopped without affecting the system...
Just a suggestion.
is there a known solution for the "screen-turning-on-problem"?
friend of me has the same problem with non-rooted galaxy s+
The phone is on stock gb fresh install.
Might have to try and open it and see if anything wrong.

[Q] big battery problem, Note shuts down on its own

hi everybody, please help me. i'm going to explain the situation:
1. i'm using jellybam and paranoidandroid.
2. while i'm in recovery, no problems. the phone keeps working pefectly.
3. during the boot or after very few seconds of usage the phone dies completely (no sods, it shuts off, like with discharged battery).
4. if i use the Note with charger no problems, the phone keeps working perfectly.
in conclusion, it seems a battery problem, but i'n not sure because i can stay in recovery as long as i want and nothing happens, but on rom boot the phone shuts down.
have i to buy a new battery or send it to samsung?
flash stock rom, if problem still persist buy new battery, if still..sent it to service center..
BTW, all questions belong in the Q&A Section, not in General or Development..thread reported.
Get a new battery, this is the only solution.

go to the store manager, explain what you think the employee did. He will see if employee screwed you.

Thanks for all your answers. This is how the story ends. I decided to bring my note in an assistance center, but before i had to turn back on stock rom. I installed the new rom with odin. When the note rebooted, i unplugged it. It worked still the end of first configuration (with samsung logo on screen), then shutted off again. Now it does not boot anymore, stuck on device name. They will send to repair with the problem "-the phone does not boot."

[Q] Xperia T won't boot up..

For some reason my xperia T won't boot up anymore. Its very strange and the second time it happened.
Previous time, after some tries with holding to volume keys while holding the power key, eventually it boot up again, but this time, it
just flashes red. Which means that it is empty. So I plug in the power cable and the red light stops flashing for a second and just turns solid red.
But then it turns off again.
Don't know what to do now. Pc companion obviously doesn't recognize the device since its off.
Last time that I actually fixed the problem, the touchscreen wouldn't work anymore, so I reflashed a very old firmware.
Then it worked again, so I installed the latest cyanogenmod, and had no problems for a few days.
I do think its a firmware issue. I think it actually has to do with the apollo app, or atleast the headphone plug being in use while the phone charges.
I was listening music while the phone was recharging, yesterday, and in the morning this happened. Last time the exact same situation.
Any Ideas? Not planning on spending money right now :fingers-crossed:
Leave it on charge for a long time and then try the hard reset.
okay. I'll try that. Already tried hard resetting few times now.

Didn't help. Left it recharging for hours, but when I try to boot it, it just gives me a red light that blinks 3 times. Maybe it is the battery or the usb,
but its still weird. Sudden death? Hard resetting still won't work..

I said a long time....
Lots of people leave it for 24 hours
I absolutelly do not recomend my solution untill everything else failed.
So here it goes:
When my phone was totally unresponssive (soft and hard boot reset failed), i dissasembled the phone and disconnected the battery and what solved my problem. I didn't know it was possible until i did it myself and this is the only reason i'm telling you: it's the very last thing but it's an option!

hmm, I want to try this. I just can't figure out how to open it. I saw a dissasembly vid on youtube, but when I get the first screw out, I can't seem to snap it open.. Im getting a bit desperate. Already went to the store, and they want to charge 45 euro's for a new battery+dissasembly.
Best way is to find the plastic tool it is shown in the video. But i had none so it takes some gentle force starting from the top left and then right to the key point that is the corner . It has to snap a little. Any metallic tools will damage the plastic and will leave traces. The tool might be replaced with a guitar feather if a friend of yours has one

If you are in a bootloop I suggest you have the wrong kernel
Just flash a stock ftf in flashtool

[Q] My Note keepsTurning off, help ..URGENT

Hello developers,
Suddenly my note cant start any more, it shows the Samsung logo and then turn off.
in rare cases it will continue to the splash screen but then quickly turn off. ...
what would this be,,, a soft brick,,, a hard brick,,, or a battery problem,,,,

Easiest way to make sure it's not a battery problem is just to buy a new one from ebay and eliminate the possibility.
But it sounds like an internal problem to me, not software related. You could try a wipe.

I did a factory reset ( I was on JB then) and didn't solve the issue. when the phone is connected to the charger it can go beyond the Samsung logo and the splash screen for a while but will turn off quickly. without a charger it will only show the Samsung logo and then turn OFF.
Can you go into recovery, plug the cable, and then power off the phone? leave it like that for few minutes.
I can go into the download mode but not recovery.... what does that mean???? Tried your other suggestion, but no luck...!!
Is your battery swollen if looking at the side and you say it will go past splash screen if plugged into charger so does that mean it will boot into the Rom if plugged in or does it just stay splash screen and also if not able to get into recovery could mean something happened with the kernel so flashing a fresh jb Rom with Odin maybe what you need. The problem with that is if your battery is bad it could cause more problems trying to flash anything with dead battery as in bricking the device. So you should start with new battery and let charge a few hours then see if your phone boots up if not then you could flash with pc Odin and go from there.

He should try kernel option you gave him, if everything else failed. I read around there were like 3 people with same situation. Maybe they used the same thing?
Search philz kernel, download one or two, and flash those in odin. Its a safe kernel, and powerful cwm.
He probably fixed by now. Hope so, for his own good.
Issue Solved, It was broken battery, Changed the batter and the phone is working again. Thanks everybody for your help....
