Wi-Fi Direct hot-reboots - Nexus 7 General

Hi.
Anyone here experiencing issues using Wi-Fi Direct? I couldn't manage to connect to any other android smartphone/tablet, because every time I try SystemUI (or Settings) freezes and my Nexus 7 hot reboots (reboots directly at nexus logo (passes Google logo)). Although Wi-Fi Direct successfully turns on and scans for devices.
I'm on Android 4.3 stock rooted with stock android 4.3 kernel.

[Q] Wifi connected but not working?

Hi, I've searched for similar issues, but can't find one, so please forgive me if it's covered elsewhere. I have a UK EE HTC One (1.28.61.7) which is fully stock (not even rooted) and aside from an issue with the capacitive buttons being hit and miss have one other issue. When I connect to a wifi network (tried on multiple networks) it will connect, and be fine for a minute or two, but then it will show that it's connected, but refuse to transfer any data. The only way to get it back to life, is to turn wifi off and on again.
Has anyone else come across this, or should I go back to EE, and swap it?
TIA!
Yes I noticed this, at times it disconnects but if you give it time it reconnects ...never had this problem with my old phone. Samsung glide.

HTC ONE (Stock so far) Just got 2013-04-21
Samsung Captivate Glide
Installed:

ICS 4.0.4 LiteRom 0.9.0
LiteKernel
hmm, mine doesn't - it just shows it's connected, and won't transfer any data .

[Q] Problems after KitKat 4.4 update (WiFi and Google TTS)

I am using an HTC One with Rogers. Ever since the KitKat 4.4 upgrade, my WiFi doesn't work properly. I am not able to connect to WiFi access points. Attempting to connect to any WiFi network will give me the error "Failed to connect to network". I cannot turn off the WiFi either. The button will grey out for a while, and then remain in the On state. Rebooting the phone will give me back control of WiFi for a while, but it will soon not work again.
Also, since the 4.3 upgrade, my Google Text-to-Speech will continuously crash when I use Google Maps for navigation. Once it crashes, Maps will not be able to read out street names. I was hoping the 4.4 upgrade would fix this issue, but this is still broken. My wife's phone has the exact same issue.
No one else has seen any similar issues with their One?
have you tried factory reset?
My wifi says turning on but never turns on after i updated to kitkat

[Q] CM11 WiFi Connection Issue

Hey guys! I have only just joined XDA Developers so please excuse me if I have posted this thread in the wrong area. I have a Samsung Galaxy S Advance (GT-I9070) running stock Jellybean firmware (4.1.2 ITV) but as you all know the stock firmware for this device is full of bugs and freezes often. I successfully rooted my device and installed Team Canjica's CM10.2 ROM (4.3) from the thread on XDA Developers but the WiFi wasn't working. I then installed Maclaw's CM11 ROM (KitKat) because I thought that might solve the issue but it didn't. Here are the details:
Device scans for nearby wireless routers.
I type in the password for my home router.
Device saves router. "Saved, Secured" message displayed.
I tap on my home router in the list to connect.
Device says "Connecting" for a couple of seconds and then goes back to saying "Saved, Secured".
I browsed through the forums and some users suggested switching WiFi Frequency to Auto and turning off WiFi Optimisation but neither of those methods worked for me. The ROM was installed successfully and all other features are working properly so I don't think that is the issue. And my router settings are also alright since I am able to connect to it from my Nexus 7 (2013) properly. Can someone please provide me with a working solution for this issue? I will start receiving very high data usage bills soon because my data plan isn't unlimited. Thank you!
Is your ssid hidden (not broadcasted) by any chance? i had those troubles on hidden home network. Sometimes it worked after a while, sometimes it didn't. What helped me is to broadcast ssid for a moment, get connected with phone, remove broadcast (it will reboot router so phone will lose wifi for a moment). Then somehow it got connected normally
Sent from my SGS Adv. using xda-developers app.

I just checked my router settings and SSID Broadcast is enabled. I tried flashing OmniRom 4.3 thinking that this may be because of a problem with CyanogenMod but the problem still persists. Is there any additional kernel that I was supposed to install perhaps?
CyanogenMod 11 version ?

Just a detail to those who have not upgraded to JB stock and think it is impossible to use it without problems:
All bugs and freezes in Stock JB currently are perfectly finished.
I use STOCK, only with modified kernel (cocore 8.2) without freezes or bugs in months of use.
Enjoy the developer's work (cocafe), because without it JB probably would be impossible in SGA. However we have JB 100% functional and bug-free.
About KK and WIFI bugs:
The only KK (or based) ROM that used without WIFI bugs was RR 20140313.
In fact, the only issue is incall vol. in my experience.
WiFi Direct, Camera -> Panorama is laggy , Screen Recorder not working Not Tested
I also noticed that the battery is worse durability.
But I went back to JB Stock -- personal preference.

Actually I did try that method. Flashed Samsung's latest stock firmware I9070XXLQL (ITV) and then rooted and installed CoCore. To be honest overall performance was much better and UI smoothness was improved. But after a couple of days of regular usage with just a few basic applications such as a note taker, train arrival time, WhatsApp etc. the device started freezing up a couple of times a day again. I admit it worked much better than before but freezes and hangs were still quite frequent. Running OmniROM 4.3 now with no issues so far except for dialer FC, laggy panorama and non functional WiFi hotspot.

WIFI not working with cm-11-20140521-UNOFFICIAL-janice and cm11.0_janice.nova.201406
Same wifi problem with cm-11-20140521-UNOFFICIAL-janice and cm11.0_janice.nova.20140601. Wifi not connecting even after giving the right password (used to work correctly with jb4.1.2 and still works with desktop) only showing saving and connecting wifi. Then the wifi connection is shown to be saved. If wifi does not work with cyanogenmod11, then what's the use of upgrading?
Is wifi is not working in any custom kitkat Rom?
Please suggest a solution.
Try couple times to connect. I remember sometimes I had to reconnect 2-3 times before it gets connection. And the problem with kernel was about WIFI not turning on at all, it was not even search SSIDs.

[Q] Any Kitkat ROMs with working bluetooth tethering?

Hello,
I've started to reuse my galaxy tab in hope to lighten the usage of my phone. It's been a long long time since I last used it myself, I've restocked it and now have CWM installed. Currently on a CM11 nightly but bluetooth tethering doesn't work. The phone and tablet pairs, and the tab even shows on connected devices on my phone, there just doesn't seem to be any data transferring.
I had omni nightly installed too and bluetooth tethering also doesn't work. So is this a global KK problem? Would that mean i need to roll back to say, Jellybean?
Thanks.

High CPU Load/spontaneous reboots when activating VPN under Lollipop

Before I start, the problem underneath appears on a fresh installed lollipop installation on a XT1092 which is converted to a XT1095.
After setting up my VPN on my Moto (using IPSec Xauth PSK) I see some strange things happening:
- CPU load is going max ("System" process is using all CPU)
- When pressing the ON/OFF button the device is rebooting.
- Wasn't able to check data connection due to slow performance/spontaneous reboots after turning VPN ON. However settings are 100% correct and key symbol is shown(used them before on this phone (as original XT1092 under 4.4.4) and using them on 4 other devices).
Sadly I cannot find anything in the logs which can point me for the reason of this bug (using OS Monitor for this). Somehow I have however the feeling this bug is caused by the conversion from XT1092 to XT1095 (while using a backup of the XT1092 4.4.4 modem). Can somebody let me know if this is a general problem, a problem that only appears with model conversions or a problem that only I have (because I messed up something during the conversion/lollipop installation ).
Thanks.
I just discovered that the lollipop update also broke all of my tethering options (just when I am stuck somewhere and need to do some work on my laptop)..
Guess I am forced to roll back to 4.4.4, anyone knows the best way to do this?
