[Q] MTP / Mass storage mode not working

Hi Guys,
I am running the Indian version of Jelly Bean with CoCore 6.8.
Recently flashed the V6supercharger script.
Earlier the MTP and Mass Storage mode worked, But now when I connect to the PC, Neither works but the phone starts charging.
I am pretty sure this is not a kernel issue. Could it be because of the V6 script ?
(Have tried everything i know, disabled dev options, unchecked USB debugging, uninstalled the v6script[though i suspect some residual data might still be there]) Havent tried re-flashing the kernel yet.
Any suggestions ?

Cable is ok? Try with another if you have. Or on other PC.

Have tried 4 different cables, 2 were samsung ones, one is from LG on is from HTC. So I don think thats an issue.

Nandroid backup. Wipe everything (system too) and try to install some custom ROM.

Well I just re-flashed the cocore e 6.8 CWM. That Fixed it !! will try to investigate what caused this problem. Still suspect some residual data left by the v6 script

[Q] Stock recovery issue

Hello, guys! One friend of mine have a problem with this phone. He want's to install Root+CWM on stock JB 4.1.2 but recovery isn't working, the phone just boot as usual. Download mode is still works. Any suggestions about restoring Recovery? Android was upgraded from GB to JB via OTA

Root.zip can be flashed in stock recovery. If you want permanent cwm,you must flash CocoreE kernel with Universal Kernel Flasher.
-Download CoCore E kernel and extract 'kernel.bin.md5'
-Flash it with using UKF

The problem is stock recovery isn't working, we CAN'T use root.zip. The phone just boot as usual

Flash again with Odin stock Jelly Bean and see if work to go in recovery.

Use temporary recovery and flash root.zip with this

Yep if you can't enter recovery, flash the firmware back using ODIN as you can still go into download mode. Steps are here.

Ofcourse it boot normaly after rooting. What you expect to be after root? It just gives you root permissions. Nothing is changed in visual.
To get CWM use CoCore, UNZIP IT and transfer KERNEL.BIN.MD5 to phone, install Universal kernel flash and some explorer with root permissions like ES FILE EXPLORER. Open Universal kernel flasher, and open kernel with it and install it. Both things you have in Play store. Before doing this you need to root it.
P.S. To enter recovery turn off phone, and power on by holding Volume Up + Home (hardvare key below screen) and Power at the same time untill phone vibrate.

We don't install root yet, we need stock recovery for that. Thanks everyone

Apparently his stock recovery isn't working so he can't flash anything
Yeah, try to download a firmware from sammobile(ublph) (lqg) and flash via odin, since your downloading mode still works

I am sure that you two was not using right combination of buttons, or you did it wrong. Do like I wrote. VolUp+Home+Power, untill it vibrate.
He need external SD card, in stock recovery you can't install anything from internal memory.

And you can flash that root.zip for our JB on any recovery.

Help samsung galaxy advance i9070P

My samsung g advance i9070p which is rooted but still running stock Rom XXLPE,is not going beyond the Samsung logo. I suspect this happened after i did some kernel tweaks in the ROM toolbox application i had downloaded from Google play and rebooted. I have tried all options in the bootloader like rebooting, wiping data/factory reset, trying updating from sd storage (I haveTitanium backup of the stock ROM but it shows empty but a CWM xxlpe ROM i had downloaded from XDA can be read but when i try to install it says its unsigned). The computer now does not recognize the phone as the MTP is not installing so download mode will not work. Help me out guys

Did you make a nandroid backup? If yes, then restore it..

I have a stock rom titanium backup on the external SD card but the phone shows it blank, but shows up in a computer which cant recognize the phone

You must enter in Download, and phene will be visible there. Flash stock firmware from sammobile. You can find guide for odin in dev section. MTP has nothing to do with it.

Just reboot into download mode [press Volume Down+Power+Home buttons at the same time] and use Odin3 tool to flash stock firmware for your device.
For stock firmware go here or you can have it from http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-I9070P

Hey guys i just rooted my friends galaxy using odin , i also installed superuser, downladed rom recovery manager , updated it , downloaded rom and google apps files and then from rom manager rebooted into recovery but sd card is not appearing! I also uninstalled rom manager and entered in recovery using volume up button but the same result, any suggestions?

Go to recovery and see if your card is mounted.

hey guys when i press home button and volume down button this is the screen whitch appears, but in the recovery i only see phone memory.. ;/

1. That is stock recovery.
2. Root your phone, HOW: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jij-Bssni1s
3. Install CoCore HOW: Download it from here, unzip it and put kernel.bin.md5 to your phone (remeber where you put it). Use one with CWM, it is most similiar with stock one (that you do not get confused) Then install Universal kernel flash and ES File explorer. In Universal kernel flash thread is explanation how to use it, read it.
4. Reboot to recovery like you did (now it will not be stock one) and than you can install custom rom.
You can't install custom rom from stock recovery, that is why you need to do all this.

Wait, that root method is for Gingerbread? You have GB?
If that is correct than install custom rom for gb only. Your solution is to repartition sd card. That's why you can't see it. I had the same problem, and I am telling you from my expirience. Search xda with "how to repartition sd card". Like I told you on my first post on this thread.

Just to know, now if you want to go back to gb you can't just flash fw from sammobile. You need to use guide for going back to gb.

So everything seemed ok i flashed cyanogen 10.1 but sim card would't work so i flashed jetmod but nothing happens after booting i mean i stucks in the samsung galaxy screen so i tried reflash cyanogen but i get the following error.. Any suggestions??? :S

Yes. For begining would you read my post that you just quoted. JetMOD is GB ROM. You can't just install GB ROM over CM. You can't even install JB ROM over CM (you need to change kernel first).
For JetMOD downgrade to GB, root and install custom recovery and than JetMOD.

Ok so now im downloading firmware from sammobile, then i just flash it using odin right?

network problem

was on gingerbread DDLK baseband..rooted and installed cm10.2 and cm10.1..but network nit available.. radio is off while doing *#*#4636#*#*
is this a baseband problem? will ICS work? can somebody give me cwm flashable baseband? at least Odin work? somebody give me links for GB and JB..hotfile link not working

Did you do factory reset? And wiped cache and dalvik cache? We do not have ICS, for fw you look on samsung-updates.com

Hello!
I have the same trouble. I've done factory reset, wiped data, cache, dalvik but network does not do anything... I restored stock rom from samsung-updates with Odin, but dont boot up. Then I tried again cyanogenmod but the network is off again...
Any idea?

When you downgrade with Odin, after instalation is done go to recovery mode and do factory reset again. I am not sure what cause that problem on CM, I read some users from Argentina had problem with it.
