Hey guys!
I have madea mistake and need your help... Today I finally decided to unlock the bootloader. That went ok. Then I wanted to install a custom rom, namely PAC. I was on stock 434 firmware. I then proceeded to flash boot.img from PAC to get the recovery (big mistake, I know). And now the phone is stuck turned on with a black screen and I cant turn it off at all
If i wait for the battery to die and then try to enter fastboot mode and install another boot.img (doomlord for 434 firmware) will that be possible or what should i do :S Hope its not permanently bricked...
Thank you for your help!
No big deal, just don't get nervous when things like this happen.
Ok, so first, to turn off the device, you have to hard power it off by pressing Power Button plus Volume Up together until the phone vibrates three times. Now that the phone is turned off, you might as well try to enter recovery by pressing volume up after the purple led flashes (if the kernel was installed correctly the first time).
If you get a black screen still, download EMMA Flashtool, follow the instructions to bring your phone back to life.
Now you are now on stock rom and kernel and you might as well give it another shot.
Keep in mind that flashing first the PAC kernel to get recovery is not a mistake. Kernel is not rom dependant, as long as there is a kernel with recovery booting, it don't matter if the rom is not compatible with the kernel (like in this time, you have pac kernel, and a stock rom over it, right?)

Is it bootlooping? How long as it been on the boot screen?
Are you able to get in recovery? If so, reflash (dirty) right over CM10. If that doesn't work, get in download mode, flash stock KK4 with Odin then Corn kernel with Odin 1.85, from there, you can flash CM10 and the Gapps.

what is the method to get into Recovery without the power button? My friend just told me his button is janky at best? It goes to the white AT&t screen then sits on that screen the whole time never moves sometimes is goes black but just pops back up. We wiped everything so there is nothing to boot to. We were trying to just wipe everything clean and start over to just clean up the device. So what options do I have, or do you suggest? thanks again

The buttons combo to recovery is both volumes + power button, Download mode is volume down + power button
this worked for me

The bootloop you are experiencing isn't really something that you did wrong. Going from ICS to JB includes a partition layout change and when you flash a JB rom the first time it will either reboot during the first flash or it will flash quickly(only flashing the new kernel and changing the layout) then when you try to boot you end up in a bootloop.
Now as far as getting back into recovery... my power button is jacked too so heres some ideas for you. If you do a battery pull and then replace it does the phone automatically power on? If yes then do a battery pull, then before replacing it, hold down the power and both volume buttons. Insert the battery while still holding them all. You should then see the att screen then maybe the kernel splash screen or itll just go black. As soon as you see the att screen again release all of the buttons and it will (hopefully) boot you into recovery. This has worked for me even though my power button doesn't work.

The method of adb or at least "[Utility] ADB Portable by Red_81" found in the dev forum would work... but only if somehow ur debugging was enabled. If not, then download mode is the only option.---hold both volume +&- and insert mirco usb...

So I'm trying to flash a custom ROM but my phone either doesn't want me to or I've misread something.
I'm running the C6603 rooted w/ locked bootloader and CWM recovery 6.0.2.8 for locked BLers http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2187363 and lastly the stock ROM
I'm trying to install Avatar ROM but for some reason I can't get into recovery. The page says pressing volume up when the green light flashes while powering up will go into recovery but I can't get there. When I do it nothing happens. I've tried pressing and holding both volume up/down to no avail.
My bootloader also seems to be acting weird as when I boot into it it's just a black screen with my LED lit up blue.
If anyone could help me out that would be great. This isn't my first flash but this one is bamboozling me. Also, yes the button does actually work.
You need to unlock your bootloader before flashing AOSP/CM based roms as they require a custom kernel.

Black screen + Blue LED = Fastboot mode = Your bootloader. This is totally normal, nothing to worry about.
Anyway, there is no way for you to install avatar rom, as it needs an unlocked bootloader in order to install the cm kernel. If you can unlock it, then do so.
Once you HAVE unlocked your bootloader (You'll lose BRAVIA engine 2 btw) there is still a problem getting into CWM...
A user on the topic fixed it so you'll have to do a bit of searching within the topic to find it. But installing CWM from the OP will mean you can't get into it on the latest firmware.
Another work-around is to use TWRP. You can reboot into the recovery from the app provided but if your phone messes up and won't boot you can't get into recovery to flash a backup.
It's on page 56 of this thread! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2187363&page=56
Second post from bottom!
Thanks all
Thanks for the help all. I've thanked you all.
Just to make sure I've got this right can I use Doomlords kernel? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2172888
Once I've flashed the kernel do I already have recovery installed (as Doomlords' adv it has both CWM and TWRP (how does dual recovery work anyway?)) or do I still have to manually flash through fastboot?
If anyone can show me another kernel to use or the correct one that would be great.
Cheers all

If you've unlocked your bootloader then yes, you can use Doomkernel.
It's best to flash the Doomkernel zip in your existing recovery rather than in fastboot.
After flashing Doomkernel you will have dual recovery, it's basically the same as normal recovery except for the volume up key is CWM and volume down key is TWRP.
I recently flashed a stock rom so I can update firmware automatically, but the touch screen doesn't work, I can't even unlock it and when I try to shut it off, by holding power button, it just flashes the buttons and doesn't shut off no matter how long you hold it, so my only option is to wait till it dies I guess. My question is, what the heck am I supposed to do if I can't flash other ROMs with a stock recovery? It's as if I have no rom, nor custom recovery on my phone. I can't enable debugging cuz I can't get into the phone.
Hi, i flashed the CM12 rom, but it was very buggy so i decided to go back to pac-rom. But the cm12 rom switched to a cm bootloader, which sucks since i cannot flash rom from there.. But phone is working and im trying to flash with flashtool. Its waiting for flashmode, phone is off, i press the volume down and insert the cable, but nothing happens, i have installed drivers successfully. What happens on the phone side is that i see the sony logo, then the battery/charging. Help?

If the battery charging comes up, looks like the volume down button is not being recognized, check if you are able to get the fastboot/bootloader mode. press and hold Volume Up and connect usb should see a blue led, if so try flashing boot.img from any other rom, if possialbe system and userdata. you could try this ASOP ROM to start http://www.blinkenlights.ch/ccms/android/yuga-l.html
Anyone else? i get into cm bootloader, but there is no option to flash new rom..
Hello all,
I've "inherited" my brother's Xperia SP. I've rooted it before, so now that I "own" it I've decided to flash a custom rom on it. When I flashed the rom and gapps, tried to restart, now it won't boot. I flashed using TWRP. Not bootloader is not unlocked, and neither can it be unlocked.
It doesn't even want to charge, I plug it in, but it is not reacting at all.
When I press the off button at the back, and the press the power button, I get a soft quick vibrate and then nothing happens. I go press and hold on the off button again, and try power + vol down. I get the middle notification light to flash green quick and then disappears. Nothing happens.
Help? I followed and read up instructions to install the ROM. I was on the 4.3 stock before flashing.
How I flashed: went to TWRP, factory reset, wipe system, install rom, install gapps, restart. Did I screw up somewhere? I feel like I might have, but I didn't think it would get bricked when I have a locked bootloader. Any insight to what might have happened, at least? Thanks.

I don't remember the thread, but the file name is this one: Slim-huashan-5.1.1.beta.0.12-UNOFFICIAL-20151119-1622.zip
Now that I go through the stuff, I see what you mean that witha locked bootloader I can only flash a limited selection of roms... What bugs me is that the phone isn't even starting up. Not charging. PC can't see it either.
When I turn on, just a soft vibrate and then nothing. I press the off button at the back, and then press and hold vol down + power, the middle green led flashes once, and then nothing. If I connect to charger and hold the off button, it vibrates three times and then nothing. I try again, it vibrates two times. I don't get it. :S
I feel like I screwed up big time. (won't be the first time) but I'm curious is this is really dead or is there something I can still do about it.
It's a softbrick. You need to find an official firmware for your SP and flash it flashtool. You can look on the forum for guides for this.

It seems you have soft bricked your phone by flashing that ROM.
For installing official firmware, this video tutorial can help you.
