Is there any way to get CWM on my rooted Xperia V (Latest .140 firmware) without having to connect to a PC? Right now I don't have a PC and lost my kernel by accidentally flashing stock kernel through CWM. Now that I lost CWM, I can't restore the kernel I had from the backup I did.
No

Hi folks,
When I back - up a rom i can't restore to it, always ends up saying "restore complete" the phone reboots and hangs on the samsung galaxy s screen for over 5mins, then reboots into cmr with various E: errors, such like cannot mount cache, or cannot cache/mount/log.
Also the rom i was using was cm7 rc10 and when this rom is installed the phone reboots straight into the rom where as it should reboot into cmr.
Any ideas ?
Depends on what rom your trying to restore? And what bootloader is on your device

You cannot restore a nandroid backup from a Samsung ROM directly over cm7 via cwm. You need to reflash a stock ROM via odin first. Then you can flash your nandroid backup from cwm.

If I backed-up my phone using xrecovery, then i flash new kernel and rom, then after that I used xrecovery again to restore. Will my phone be in its original state when I backed up? I mean all? also the kernel and rom? I
just want to make sure so that if 3 hours (this night) isn't enough to flash and put apps back to normal after i flashed new rom, I can just restore to get everything fine by tomorrow. =)
No you need Flashtool to get the kernel back.
And stock rom doesn't work on custom kernel!

I unlock the bootloader on my xperia z and then I rooted newest firmware 10.3.1.A.0.244 by following the instructions from hire http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2386405 . And everything worked as it should. Than I instal recovery and android 4.3 from hire http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2354328 . Then the problems started, I tried to install app via recovery, but android did not want to boot. I decided to go back to 4.2 with 10.3.1.A.0.244 kernel, but it was no longer possible to root the phone and every time when I install recovery android will not to boot. Is there any idea about my problem. Sorry for my english
Do you want to stay on 4.2 or 4.3, just flash the kernel you need via fastboot or flashtool then that will give you a recovery to then install custom roms. As you are on a unlocked bootloader it is a lot easier to root just search for supersu cwm installation and that will root your device.

Okay then we'll look for doomlords stock kernel with cwm take the boot. Img out if that and flash in flashtool, then load up your phone and enter cwm. Flash rom you need (a lot of Roms are pre rooted. If not then once loaded new rom install supersu zip and there you are done. Kernel with cwm, custom rom and rooted device

Hi all. I recently reverted back to a stock rom 757 I flashed the ftf using flash tool. However I still have twrp working (bootloader unlocked) is it possible to root using the Recovery by flashing a zip? Instead of having to install a whole new rom?

The recovery is in your kernel not in the system partition, that's why you kept recoevry
You are rooted
In order to have a superuser app to manage your root rights just flash SuperSU.zip from chainfire (Google it)
