The battery is not user replaceable. That being said, you will most probably lose warranty. If battery is damaged then take it to service centre. The battery is actually very good. Gives me a day's usage when used heavily with around 4.30 hours of screen on time and 20 hours of on time. This is without stamina mode and youtubing for 30 minutes, gaming for an hour and whatsapping and checking mails. Am always connected to 3g or wifi. Also add around 2 hours of talktime. That said this kind of battery life is like heaven compared to what i used to get on my Nexus

That would be no problem.
Background:If you root the phone the warranty is away, but sometimes you have got a bootloop and I don't want to wait until the batery is empty

You can switch it off using the off button available after opening the back panel

Improved battery on newer models.

I got my Nexus 4 RMA'd. I was fairly satisfied with my original Nexus 4's battery, it lasted a day solid, with some change. I still tried my best to squeeze more battery out of it, cause I didn't want to cut it so close. Anyway, after I RMA'd it and got my new model (with the little plastic feet) I noticed a HUGE difference in battery life. I'm talkin' 50-70% more battery life! I'm running the same franco kernel, and having even underclocked or undervolted, and also using Juice Defender Plus (Also had that on my previous N4). Anyway, the difference is night and day, so I'm certain they improved the battery in the newer N4's. Also I held my friends N4 that he bought the same time I got my first one, and mine feels significantly denser. Anyway, just wanted to let you guys know, if you're not happy with your battery life, maybe you should consider getting it RMA'd and if you were holding out from buying a N4 because of the battery life, this might make the difference.
Useless,i cant see SOT screenshot ?
Also everybody who use franco satissfied about battry life,4-5 hours SOT..
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
I just went about 40 hours on one charge, I charged it last night though, so I'll see how long it lasts and post a screenshot.
I have a 301k (got in feb)
Watching about 4 hours of hd video (LoTR with lowest brightness), half hour of youtube and a couple hours of reddit and texting
and at the end of the day I have 20% battery life. I can last another day with that, as long as I dont wifi or youtube too much.
Also, Greenify is a really good app.

All i want to say is that if you flashed franco kernel you get 4-5 hours SOT and on moderate use 20-22 hours work time,it doenst matter what is your model 301k,302k or newer..
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
I had franco kernel on my previous N4 (not sure what xxxK version this one is) and have seen a MASSIVE improvement in battery life with this newer one, BEFORE trying to implement battery saving techniques. I'm convinced by that and the weight difference that the battery has been improved.
When you say consider getting in RMA'd, how would I do that? Doesn't there have to be some fault with it - the only fault I think I have is the rattling back?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
I can relate to this, my friend got a new n4 and i was on 79% batter with 23 mins screen on time and he was on 93% with half hour.. its a joke
With the same hardware and software, the only way to improve the battery life, is to increase the battery capacity (mAh). So today, the only way is to increase battery size.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
Yeah I'm trying to think of a reason to get an rma. Do you think rattling back is enough?

Fo real! Smh!
My nexus isn't as loud as his...better RMA.
My nexus doesn't have nubs...better RMA.
I bricked my nexus...better RMA.
His screen looks better than mine...better RMA.
I choose to go naked and my nexus got scratched up...better RMA.
New Hardware revision?...better RMA.
My battery sucks like everyone else's...better RMA.
I genuinely understand if someone needs a repair or got a defective device, but some on here clearly are abusing the system.
This is probably related to the 4.2.2 issue I saw in another thread
Basically people were getting better battery life by flashing the stock 4.2.2 image and then reflashing their custom kernels/ROMs
Since the new Nexus 4 came with 4.2.2 on it, it probably bypassed having to do those steps. I doubt the battery is different at all..
LOL with all the RMAs I think google is going to put up a new page for refurbished nexus 4 models.
Hopefully they learn from it and not f*** up the next nexus launch, Jesus Christ this phone has been nothing but a disaster

seriously its fricken ridiculous. and from what i read here, most of it fraudulent, dropped the phone, bricked, opened it up. i mean come on guys. and then some people have the nerve to complain that Google wont honor a return when its clearly stated in the warranty info that user caused damages arent covered.

Just to let everyone know I haven't ever done an rma in my life, and I have bought a nexus 7, 10, and now 4. But if a product is significantly better less than one month after I buy it I would like to enjoy that.
Sent from my Nexus 4 on Solavei network!
It's probably just placebo effect. Unless we have some hard evidence ("weight" and "feel" won't cut it) we can only assume the battery is the same. At the most, it might have something to do with heat dissipation and containment regarding battery current flow in the newer models.

Nothing is "significantly better". All these RMA's make it sound like everyone on this forum has some severe form of OCD. A few people's non-scientific observations don't make anything better or worse. Just live with what you have, it's not like you're missing out on anything. If there was a "significant" improvement, Google would have just incorporated everything into the Nexus 5 and released that instead.
I got a 303k. Noticed exceptional battery even while I'm stock rooted. I use it semi heavily so the battery is surprising. I get a full day out of it unlike on my s3.

whats RMA and 301k/303k??
just bought a nexus 4 and new over here
btw i get upto 7 hours on ultra heavy usage(stock) (will root when i get bored of stock) (torrent downloader always running in background+dead trigger/svz2/temple run oz etc)
is that good enough????

Battery HTC ONE

Hello.
Yesterday I received my htc one.
So far so good but there is something that does not have me happy.
Is the battery life, I had loaded all tonight at 9:00 unplugging and went to work.
At this time I have 39% of battery, and use only a little web browsing, whatsapp and twitter, but not much, I think it was downloaded too use it and die, and all this with the power saving mode activated.
You think, what should I do?
Thank you.
I had a a similar experience during my first couple of days using my One but it seems to have sorted itself out now. I noticed having it on wifi seems to use less power than mobile data if that helps.
Wait a week or so before forming an opinion. As with many smart phones it takes time for the battery to bed in and be fully calibrated. My battery life is superb. I've used my one today heavily with music playing non stop and it's still on 70%.
I wouldn't be worried at all. Mine was the same when I first got it but I wasn't worried because I've had the same thing with every phone I've had in the past few years.
Give it a chance to hit full stride. If it does turn out to be an actual problem, which I strongly doubt, then you'll get a replacement. Nothing to be concerned about.
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
Mine was poor the first one or two days and now it's fantastic. Give it a few more charging cycles.
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
Thank you all for the answers, the truth is that I think it has improved, and as you load and 2 cycles and it seems that if it improves enough.
Thank you very much for the help!
Also keep in mind the first few days you own a new device you are using it a lot more because you are checking it out all the time.

i suggest you to buy it from official samsung service centre or smartphone hub as these sellers in ebay etc are not trustworthy as far as genuine ness of the battery goes

Just keep in mind one thing, size of battery = capacity
I just wonder how Extended Battery is with 1500mAh, our normal value is 1500mAh.

No, exactly the same size as the original battery. As well as power capacity is much longer than the original. As the name implies double power battery.

Woa 3000 mAh?
You should post battery backup usage later on
Curious on how long it'll last on continuous 3G usage
I only got about 2 hours max, or almost 2h30mins if I limit the cpu freq on stock battery

Mmmmh ... I guess my daily battery usage is quite stable. I recall with regular activity my internet (3G mode) without wifi and without the use of phone and sms as needed. I can reach as much as one and a half the day more. Unlike during the original battery, I only get a day time use only 8 hours.
Note: on average every two hours once in 24 hours using the internet. and my mobile data is off continuously. And Yes, I do a bit of overclocking to 1.15 GHz
Maybe next time I'll show you.

Yes, that's my daily use, senior. I use it all-saving mode. And while all-round needs to be, and even then did not have many hours I think. Because I'm always support energy-efficient world. The important thing is I do not have to lose until significant moments, when having to deal with a job that requires me to connect to the internet. To call and sms I have a separate number for it. So my device is specifically for work-related activities, hobbies (not games) that must be connected to the internet only.

Should I replace my battery?

Hey guys,
So I have had the m7 for exactly 2 years now. Performance wise, it's still pretty smooth but the battery life is beginning to get horrible. With all the updates over the years, the battery life just seems to be dropping. I get max 45 mins to 1 hour screen on time and total life of about 10 hours or 12 on a good day. I've tried a lot of different roms but in the end they all show the same stats. I'm beginning to think my battery is wearing out. Do you guys think this is the case? And if it is should I go to the service center and get it replaced or do it on my own? (It's obviously not under warranty). I live in India.
Thanks!

I got this phone few months ago and my battery life is terrible after 5.0.2 update. It's dropping by 1 % every 2-5 minutes, even on sleep.
Well, unless you want to pay for HTC to replace it, I'd advise against trying to open up the phone to replace it yourself. If you do open it up, it's very difficult to get the phone apart, or to put the phone back together, without damaging it.
I was wondering the same thing, I've already bought a new battery but haven't replaced it yet.
It doesn't look hard to replace (regarding to this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k44Y2zpbhOo)
If you're comfortable with that, sure. I'd still advise against, as even the people from ifixit couldn't open up the frame without damaging the plastic stripe
I did battery replacement once, but it's almost impossible to crack open the phone without damages on the housing no matter how careful you are. Better order the following parts before you start:
- battery
- full front and back housing + display
- omnivision camera
The result will be a brand new phone with no camera issues. Parts cost is about $100 total.
