Hey I've had my phone for about 5 months now and the battery life has been fine. I primarily use it for listening music but as of late ive been noticing huge battery drains due to Audio_out 2 wakelock. I assume that this wake lock activates when I play music but its never drained this much battery before. I drain almost the same amount of battery with the screen on as I do with the screen off and listening to music. is this normal? Is there any way to reduce battery use while listening to music?
I keep most of my music on an external sd card and I've tried scanning my media files for corruption and have fixed them what could the problem be?
P.S I use Cyanogenmod 10.1.2 with Prime kernel 2.53

Thank you but I already use greenify.
I had the same thing so I turned off all ui sounds under sounds in the settings menu and wakelock is now minimal. See if thus helps because I don't really listen to music

Hi guys, how long can you listen to music using your galaxy note built-in music player? Does android perform deep sleep while playing music? I noticed mine is using 6-8% battery an hour of playing. Is this normal? I remember using blackberry and iphone where I can listen to music for more than 15 hours and still have battery left.
using gingerbread darky 3.3 rom with 4.0 abyss kernel
Thanks!
Mine doesn't go into deep sleep while playing, so yeah it uses more battery.

I have always found the battery life to be poor but I have come to accept this device has a large screen and great processing power etc!
My UK phone is rooted on the latest ICS and has various apps frozen with titanium backup manager! It use to be in deep sleep mode for about 68% of the time but since 2 days ago cpu spy says it hasn't been in deep sleep mode! I have installed various apps that kill running apps but the phone fails to sleep!
Any ideas why it isn't sleeping, just sits at 200mhz!

Go to Settings -> Sounds -> Go to the bottom -> disable touch sounds. (Better if you untick all 4 options). Reboot. Leave phone for 10 mins. Check CPU Spy. :good::highfive:
Thanks for the reply, I did that when I first got the phone! Just checked and all the boxes are un-ticked!? Any other ideas?

Turn off custom power saving mode.. Check after that.. I faced issues with these two.. Sometimes even l2_hsic goes crazy and drains the battery.. Check that too.
Thanks, again this setting is disabled on my phone! Still sitting at 200mhz! Though the battery doesn't seem to be draining as much!?

hello sir..
hmm since i read that you installed various apps that kill running apps, maybe that is cause to kernel wakelock since your system always working to searching what app running and killed it in various time you set
..many system app that switch back on like google app no matter you turn off except you log out your account
or maybe you can try one off the famous airplane metode which is
- switch your phone to airplane mode
- turn off your phone and pull out your battery (until 10 sec or more)
- put again your battery and turn on your phone
- after complete reboot let it for a while then turn off the airplane mode
I had the same problem with audio_out one but only in imilka's paranoid Android.. Couldn't fix it in any way so left the rom..
the reason taskkillers are disputed is because memory works different on android. It reloads certain stuff afterbkilling it, causing a cycle of killing and reloaded that can cause more drain than is intended to safe

I have my LG 4X for about 3 months!Everything was great until today.I charged it this afternoon and now, after 7h10min it`s on 50%! WTF? I didn`t use him at al! Maybe 5 min of internet..In 20.00h i went for practice and left it at 74%, killed Wifi and when I got back at 21.55h it was at 54% and it`s still dramatically dropping! Is the battery dead? Help!
P.S. From 7h23min of battery it was 7h13min on stand by..46%..

The charger usb cable not touching all the pins. Try to clean usb port

Sometimes after charging the phone I notice high drain after 3 hours it is as low as 50%. I checked with cpuspy that the phone wasn't going to deep sleep at all, it remained at 475MHz when the screen was off.
This has happened to me twice.
Only solution I found was reboot.
Hope it helps

How do I do reboot?
Press power button down and select the reboot option.
I thought there was a reboot app...
I did that and now it seams stable..It "stuck" on 27% for about an hour with WiFi on..Wow,it gave me a little scare..I hope this will solve the problem for good!
If you installed Chrome at some point, you might want to find the option to turn gps-positioning off as well. Not sure if it's been fixed in a later release, but on the previous version the api prevented the processor from idling, and never turned the gps-antenna off again after use.
It's most likely an app is causing that drain, try installing BetterBatteryStats...

how can we know which app is forcing the phone to does not enter deep sleep mode? i installed cpu spy and note that deep sleep mode is not being used by my phone since yesterday, but ysterday i rooted and installed all my root required apps, but i don't know which is avoiding deep sleep mode.
I just turn on the phone after full charge, and in 10 minutes battery had drained was about 7% and the phone is warm, obviously something is running on background or something, i closed all apps that I know and used Greenify to stop background apps and now i close all google+ apps, i will measure again

i solved my problem, it was caused by the google+ app, I just logged out and the phone can enter in deep sleep mode again...

Lolz, you need to give somemore information
1. Did you root your phone? which firmware are you using? if you are rooted did you do factory reset?
2. did you do anything related to flashing JB, unlocking bootloader, etc or anything that happened recently to LG 4X.
3. what app did you download or updated 1-2 days before this?

:crying: Guys, My MI 3W is getting sudden battery drain issue..phone reboot suddenly and battery is drained by almost 10% after reboot. I'm using AOSP 4.10.15. I'm using many apps to control CPU clockspeed. Do they have 2 do something with this problem? I'm attatching a screenshot herewith.

Stop using them?
Hi, what are you using to increase your battery life? I have never used such an apps (only doze of course) but now with Oreo I have quite an idle battery drain so wanted to try something.
What do you recommend and what do you use?
Naptime? Naptime with franco kernel? Grenify? Naptime+Grenify? Naptime+Grenify+aggressive doze? Since some time Greenify has similar options to Naptime but what I read naptime works better? Is there any advantage of using paid versions?
None, those apps are useless.
If your ROM has it, use Privacy Guard. That's all.
I have also replied to you at the other topic that you were asking something similar.
I am using Doze+Boeffla kernel+Akt profiles+Naptime.
Maybe it's an overkill, but it allows me to have almost 0% consumption during night.
Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk
do you have aggressive doze on?
What AKT profiles are you using and how? You just install their APK and select what you want? And of course for that you need root, right?
I've literally tested on Oreo using without any that kind of apps, vs using it, and actually, i found out that it didn't really do any noticable difference. So on oreo i feel its quite unneccessary.

I would use a wakeblocker. NOS has one built in.
https://github.com/MrLast98/scripts/blob/master/Wakelocks.txt
Those are the wakelocks I block. It gives me about 5 hours SOT vs 3.5. Don't have to charge for 2-3 days, granted I use my phone much less than other people.

Oh. Well i use OOS so it's not really workable then.
Anyway, i get 5.5h SOT with stock OOS anyway also so i don't really feel the need of any bogus greenfify, naptime

Nothing special.

At AKT the extreme battery profile is on.

I use ForceDoze. The only reason I need it is that it works around the Mobile Radio Active bug. If you do not experience this bug, you don't need these apps.
I use L-Speed's aggresive doze + AKT Nameless Battery profile
7-8h SOT
for the AKT profiles do you need to have root? As I see it works even on stock kernel.
My SOT is terrible, from morning til evening I can get it fine, but I sometimes I need my phone for 2 days without charging and then it is a problem. My idle drain is quite high.. and it is mostly from the system or something.

Yes u need root.for AKT.profiles.
And it's not an easy task to spend 2 days.without charging.
Get a Power Bank in this case.

I have a problem with wifi or overall internet connection. You can see in the graph that when I had wifi off my idle usage was almost zero, and the next night it dropped 10%. I don't really have weird wakelocks or apps running, it's phone idle, android system and android OS

No the only social app I have is messenger lite, no snap chat, Facebook and other stuff like this. Mostly notifications comes from Gmail only.

Disable "WiFi scanning on all the time" under WiFi settings. Your WiFi does not shut down in idle Mode.
scanning is OFF but wifi during sleep is ON, without this I will not get notifications after some idle time during the day
