Hello, just looking for a hand in some strange stuff.
1st. I had a stock AT&T Atrix HD on 4.1.1
2nd. I unlocked bootloader with Motopocalypse and rooted with Motochopper.
3rd. I had issues installing CWM, so I installed Holoblur Performance via SS3 Recovery.
4th. This resulted in a bootloop and I used RSD Lite to bring me back to stock.
5th. So back on stock I re-rooted and flashed CWM 6.0.3.2 to no avail.
6th. While trying this, I found that I'm stuck in Fastboot AP.
Any ideas on further steps, I just want to install a custom rom.
Stock is still currently installed, and rooted. 4.1.1 AT&T.
Would a different recovery work, or did I screw myself by installing Safestrap on a unlocked phone?
Thanks.
Just fastboot a stock firmware on the phone then install cwm, root then pick a rom.

Stuck.
Okay, I flashed stock 4.1.1 via Myth Tools then, flashed Recovery via Myth Tools as well.
Every time I enter fast boot, it goes straight into Fastboot AP aka Fastboot flash.
I can't enter recovery by normal methods and I use Myth Tools to enter Recovery it does nothing.
Any further ideas!? Thanks.
Update: Volume up seems to not be working now either!?
As in when you reboot to fastboot?

This should fix any issues.

Tried to root and install CWM, CWM installed fine but I am stuck at the unlocked bootloader warning.
I've also tried installing stock roms and Pi-Llama's and Omar's custom roms using CWM, but neither would work (P-Llama would stop at the lying down android (in CWM) and Omar's finishes installing but brings me no further).
Now I think I should flash the original boot.img but I don't know which version to flash (I don't know my device info), what steps can I take?
Also is there any way to know the software version of the phone (for use with RSD Lite)?
Fastboot -> recovery brings me to CWM
Installing stock recovery and then Fastboot -> recovery brings me to the lying down android
Update: found and installed (Through RSD Lite) the right original firmware

First questions:
Is your bootloader unlocked?
Do you have a custom recovery installed? (Safestrap? Clockworkmod?)
If your bootloader is LOCKED, unlock it using Myth Tools.
If your bootloader is UNLOCKED, and you do not have a custom recovery, download Clockworkmod and install it (boot your phone into fastboot mode then shift-click inside the folder you extracted the recovery.img to and click "Open command window here" and type the command posted in the thread).
If your bootloader is LOCKED or UNLOCKED and you have Safestrap installed, boot into SS and delete any ROM slots you have made (do not delete the stock slot), then uninstall the recovery through the app, then uninstall the app itself. Now follow the instructions above to install Clockworkmod.
If your bootloader is UNLOCKED and you have Clockworkmod, boot into CWM and follow the instructions on the ROM's XDA page.
Same problem
Same problem here. My MB886 is definitely unlocked, CWM and recovery are installed. Attempted to install Holoblur v.9 Performance from stock 4.1.1. Followed the directions including a format of /system but it hangs during boot every time. Restored stock rom via CWM, loaded latest CM 10.2 nightly build temporarily but ultimately hope to switch to Holoblur when I have more time to work on it.

I think the Performance version was broken for some people, have you tried the Tuned version?
Just flash tuned version then flash PurePerformance mod over it. Voila. (I got a link in my sig).

Are you rooted? If you are, use Root Explorer to change the file named install-recovery.sh to recovery.sh.bak and flash CWM via fastboot using the command fastboot flash recovery name-of-recovery.img.
Hi guys, my friend just bricked his LG Optimus black, by trying to reach recovery mode through Rom manager...
When booting, the security error screen flashes and it turns back off.
I've tried to reach recovery/download mode, by trying several button combinations found on the internet, but none of them seems to work, I get the same security error screen (even when the phone is connected to PC).
Can you guys please help, I have zero experience with this phone
Your friend's phone shows security error because he flashed recovery while he was running a v30x stock rom.
With the update to official ICS, the bootloader changed and if you want to keep stock ICS with recovery you need to flash an unlocked bootloader following this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2160394.
You could also try using SmartFlash Tool to flash this ROM that already includes a recovery, but, if you flash it, you'll have a gingerbread ROM with an old bootloader and a recovery that can be used to flash CyanogenMod based ROMs.

Thanks, I finally managed to access Download mode and flash stock firmware, and I also flashed the unlocked bootloader, using the exe file...
But I still have a problem...
I still can't access CWM. When pressing the combination in the post you linked, it just shows me a screen, writing recovery mode, and it does nothing.
Didn't the exe file install CWM?
Is it safe to install it with Smart Flash Tool now?
Can you boot to stock ROM? If yes, is his phone rooted?

I can boot to stock ROM, and yeah I rooted it with Unlock Root after installing the unlocked bootloader.
Download terminal emulator from play store, download recovery.img from here and place it in the root of his sdcard.
Open terminal emulator, type su, press enter, type dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p4 and you should have finished! :highfive:
So I basically flashed a modem.zip file that was for 5.1 on my 4.4.4 Moto X. Yup, I'm dumb, I know.
So now I'm stuck on boot loops and I'm trying to figure out how to flash the stock firmware using Fastboot.
I can put my phone in fastboot mode but as soon as I hit recovery to go to TWRP it just boot loops so Recovery is not an option for me. Any help or useful links would help. Thanks!
EDIT: I was finally able to get into TWRP. I wiped Cache and Dalvik Cache and everything returned to normal.
If your bootloader unlocked.... You should be able to just flash the appropriate modem using fastboot. Or flash all of 5.1 via fastboot or rsd lite

I currently have PacMan rom 4.4.4 KitKat installed on my Moto X and when I went to update to a new rom I found that TWRP didn't work. I can boot into recovery mode, but the splash screen just displays and never actually enters the recovery. I have to hold the power button down until the phone reboots to get out of it. I currently have TWRP v2.8.7.0 installed. I tried some of the older versions of TWRP and none worked. I also tried updating to the unoffical TWRP 3.0.2 and that behaved the same. Lastly, I tried Philz CWM recovery v6.57.9. That loaded and I was able to navigate the menu but once I selected a option that performed a task, it would freeze. If anyone can help me out it'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Had a similar problem on my XT1060 Dev Ed., lost all my data coz of it. Only method which worked was to flash a stock firmware via RSDlite or manually through mfastboot.
Try option 5 from here with complete data wipe.
Try to go to bootloader first and load it from there. Already saw this working some times.
