Hack? You could flash it, depending on your device. Otherwise, no.

Hi Guys,
I have a Sensation XL with the following specs:
Android Version: 4.0.3
HTC Sense Version: 3.6
Software Number: 2.31.401.2
Kernel Version: 3.0.16-gc297c99
I can't send or receive any files via bluetooth. When i try to send anything it says sending file but then nothing happens. I've made sure my device is always discoverable and still cant receive anything even from paired devices. Whenever i try to receive a file it just says sending failed on the phone i'm trying to send from. have tried to send and receive from various phones and pc's but nothing. All out of ideas now!!
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanx.
Try installing a new Rom, if you can be discovered or discover other devices it must be a software error!

Thanks for the reply ricky.
It was working fine till about sept last year, which is the last date of an item received in my bluetooth exchange folder, then i dunno what happened to make it go funny.
Considering i am from the land of noobs, how does one go about installing a new rom? I wouldn't want to screw up and have a dodgy bluetooth be the least of my worries!
Is your phone firmware stock? Or is it a custom firmware?

It's firmware stock...i haven't ever installed any custom roms on it...
I dunno if there is an app i've installed which might be causing this problem?
If its stock firmware I doubt an app would be able to do as it does not have root access, but then again I don't think it could be a hardware error, have you rooted/ unlocked bootloader?
Have you tried factory reset?

download an adb set, open commant prompt, navigate to the folder where adb is then execute 'ädb logcat' and copy and then on your phone try to transfer something via bluetooth, that will DEFINATELY find the problem!

If you have warranty i suggest you get it to warranty, does your BT activate?
If your BT activates, can you discover or be discovered?
If yes to all the above, what was the last thing you did before this happens?
Hey guys,
I had a problem with my pc, so I wasnt following the forums for a while. Here's my question :
I have a message in my notification bar saying New system update available 10.1.1.A.1.253,its been there for weeks. I remember seeing here that updating to 253 will remove root n all that. So I want to know, wether updating via my phone will remove my root?? hope the question is clear enough.

Hello, I am new here. I need some help with my Lumia 920.
I have installed the 8.1 Preview for Developers, and by that momento Nokia Black update wasn´t available on my contry/operator, so it was installed over the Amber update.
Now, Black update is available for my device, but it won´t install. My country is Argentina and operator is Movistar.
Is there a way I can install the black update without flashing my device? since I don`t want to reset my phone.
Thank you very much!
Daniel
The quick answer to that is no, unfortunately. You'd have to flash a Black update ROM for your device then reinstall 8.1. Once it is installed, any firmware targeting a previous version will not install over it.

IF you can detect updates through erecovery then it is fine but if it doesnt show any file.
then you have to use 3 button update method to roll back to previous version rom.
