Can't Install (Not working) Sygic Aura GPS - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I'm running Slim Bean 4.2.2 Rom and can't get Sygic GPS Navigation and Maps (Aura) to install properly on my I9000.
Starting from a fresh installation of the Rom, I download Sygic from the Play Store. The download and installation appears to be successful. On first run, I do not see any notification of the customary "Downloading resources..." shown when Sygic further downloads base maps and other files. Instead, I get a black screen for some seconds and then Sygic exits and then returns to the home screen. I have tried this multiple times, each time wiping my phone and factory resetting before reinstallating Sygic but I always get the same failure. For some reason, the Sygic folder is not created either on the internal or external SDcard during installation.
Sygic support suggested that my phone is too old to run the app, which is unlikely as my friends are using the same phone and running Sygic without any problem. They further suggested that the problem is related to the fact I am not running a stock Rom.
Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong? I think a very obvious clue is that something is preventing Sygic from creating the Sygic folder during installation.
Thanks.

[Q] Problem with Fast Web Installer and Appbrain on Froyo

Is anyone having problems with getting Appbrain and the Fast Web Installer to work on their Captivates with Froyo? And yes, I have installed the Fast Web Install app and activated it on my Cappy. If I am on my PC and I try to install an app from the internet, I get this error message:
"Fast Web Install is not available for your phone due to a bug in the Android Operating System"
AlsoI noticed sometimes if I download something directly from the Android Market, it says it is downloading but it will not do anything. Other times, it works just fine so I'm kind of confused. Anyone else notice anything? I did not have any problems with Eclair.
Also, I wonder if it was something to do with the fact that I used Titanium Backup to restore apps + data. I did not however restore any of the system data, just the app data. I have already reinstalled both the Appbrain and Fast Web Install app.
Just to update: The problem I am also having is that something will download completely as well but it will not install. It shows that it is fully downloaded but won't install. Any suggestions?
I'm having problems with appbrain as well. I had 2.1 unmodified, did the 2.2 flash and can't send installs from the appbrain web site to my mobile.
Just encountered this problem with app brain as well. I also have occasional weird frozen installs from market, have to restart those. wonder if we missed something.
I had the market force close on me earlier when I was loading a bunch of applications. Not all at the same time either.
Problem with Fast Web Installer and Appbrain on FroyoArrow
Only issue I had was my app lists were not syncing after I updated to the new 2.2 leak. I had to delete my appbrain account online, uninstall the app from the phone. Then sign back up for a new appbrain account and reinstall the app. Seems to be ok now.
I have the same problem.
I try to delete the account and sign up again.
Deleted both application in the phone, and reinstall.
I can send text and url's to the phone just fine.
uninstall seems to work too.
But automatic instalation does not.
What could i try to solve this?
(yes its on froyo)
After reading extensively on the Cognition thread, I found out that the reason the Fast Web Installer does not work is that since we are running a leaked build of froyo, everyone has the same Android device ID.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8604909&postcount=3550
After following these steps, I was able to get Fast Web Installer to work. Hope that helps.
How did you install sqlite3 on the device?
Its not in mine..
Thanks howsleyd!
I ended up copying the db into my desktop and modifing it there.
I actually has a android_id code setted up. So i modified it and invented a new.
Now Fast install works fine.
Thanks!
Fast Web Installer not working for me either after 9.1
I downloaded Android ID Changer and changed a few numbers and changed it.... reboot and everything is good with Appbrain and the market

[CM7][Fix]Had problems with CM7, here's what they were and how to fix it

I did an extensive search on this website and on Google for this subject, and never found a precise response. I eventually figured it out patching together experiences from multiple sources, but I'm sure I'm not the only one, so here is what happened and how I fixed it.
I have a Nook Color that came with the 1.2 software version. I installed CM7 following the guide on this site. I used a variety of nightly releases including 177. I reset and re-installed several versions always with the same result. CM7 would install, but with these problems:
1. On startup, I would receive the error: "android.process.media stopped unexpectedly" and "process.com.android.setting stopped unexpectedly".
2. The market would allow me to download, but the download status would just hang at 0%.
3. The Kindle app would not allow downloading with the error of "your device is not compatible"
4. CM settings cause the same errors as in point #1
The fix is simple. Clear the data and cache in various applications in settings - applications - manage applications and select all applications with the buttons at the top of the screen. You want to clear the info in certificate installer, download manager, google services framework, market, market apps installer, package installer.
I don't know why this works, but it does. I don't know if one needs to clear all of the apps that I did, but it is what worked.
Lastly, the CM settings still crash. I haven't found an answer to that yet.
Good luck!

I had the first issue's problem. I used ROM Manager to reinstall CM7, wiping all caches. It fixed the problem. Obviously it's not ideal, so thanks for posting. I'll keep it in mind if I run into the problem.
I also had force closes on Facebook and Words With Friends. I thought they were related to the original issues, but the force closes came back. Any ideas?
EW2X4 you don't say but if you are running of SD card then many cards give force closes.
Assume you aren't as you talk about using ROM manager but others with Force closes reading might be on SD so will post this
If SD card read some of the threads which recommend Sandisk class 4 or lower cards

Use CWR version 3.2.0.1 when creating the bootable image on the card. Then wipe system, data, cache and Davlik before installing. You miss one of them and you are going to get FCs. It can be found here: http://www.multiupload.com/0DLC9QATOW

[Q] My Download Agent stopped working

I have a standard Sony ROM 4.1.2, only rooted. Recently I lost any possibility to download any file with my mobile. I can launch Google Play, I can browse internet with browser. Actually I can do anything normally, apart from downloading files. I.e. when I start downloading anything from Google store I got stuck in "Downloading" state. No download icon on status bar appears.
What I can do to try to work it around is to reboot the phone. Then, in some seldom cases, this one particular file gets downloaded after reboot. However in most cases, when I check Google Play I see "Waiting for network" information, while network and data transfer is on. Nevertheless it just works this way only for one file after reboot. No other file can be downloaded.
What I can say else is that I get "Unfortunately process.gapps has stopped" and "Google Play has been stopped" on reboot every time. I am not sure if this is related to my problem since I was receiveing this information also before my problems with Dowlona Agent has started.
My Download Agent (stock Sony ver. 4.1.2-Aff_nw) appears on list of normally working apps. Strange thing is that when downloading I Force Stop Download Agent, download icon in status bar appears, but no downloading is started.
What I would like the most is to reinstall current or install a new Download Agent/Manager. I would like really to avoid restoring original mobile software, then rooting and getting all apps downloaded and configured.
I think I found solution myself. I made a copy of Download Agent with Titanium Backup. Then I removed Download Agent and reinstall it - again with Titanium Backup. I reinstall just app, without data. Then reboot of the device and now the downloading works OK.

Update to Android 12 and dual apps not working

Hi all, Ive been running dual apps on my mi8 for some time now, specifically Nova Empire. On Saturday the Android 10 update dropped and was installed.
When I went to play Nova, i was able to login to the primary app but with the clone app it wouldn't get past the splash screen. I tried to uninstall the clone via various methods, I uninstalled the game completely and reinstalled then tried to setup the dual app with the same results. I tried to run it in Second Space but still couldn't get past the splash screen. I tried to repair permissions as googling suggested that could be an issue with MiUi and clone apps.
I then tried the drastic step to reset my phone and start again! installed Nova and setup the clone app. I still have the same problem. Again tried to setup Second Space but can't get past the splash screen.
The primary app works fine so I can still play the game, ive tried other apps on both dual apps and second space and they work fine so the issue seems to be with Nova.
Does anybody have any ideas please?
Hi, I am using MIUI 12 eu on Ginkgo, and dual apps gaming not working properly. I played Pokemon Go on dual apps and the graphic is stuck.
Have you found any solution yet? If yes please share.
check the respective game/app folder inside android/data and obb inside 'storage for dual apps'. most likely no files are created inside this folder. so copy everything from the original folder (internal shared storage) to here.
