With CM instalation CM kernel will be installed. So you can install it when you are on CoCore. I suggest you to make nandroid backup of Stock based JB in CWM, that you can easily go back from CM when you want. If not you need to flash stock based kernel, and then ROM, or to flash firmware with Odin.

in order to run the rom you don't need to change anything. just flash the MIUI zip, don't leave the recovery and flash libteefolderCM10, then reboot

a little help here ^_^

okay i have seen kernel in the android development section there.. there 2 type devil ics/jellybean kernel and a semaphore kernel.. now the problem is how do i use them? or how to flash them?
Read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1379650
Essentially, you want to use Odin to flash a custom rom that is rooted with clockworkmod recovery. From there, you can simply download the .zip file of the rom to your phone and flash it from recovery mode.

[Q] Flash CoCore Kernel with UKF in GT -i9070PXXLPE fails

Hi all ,noob here, i have upgraded to stock XXLPE some days ago and rooted my GT-I9070P, i have verified that it is indeed rooted and i want to flash a CoCore kernel, however when i try to flash it with Universal Kernel Flash i get an incompatible device error from the application. (This kernel is not supported for you device)
I tried to flash 5.6.2, and 6.2 of either TWRP or CWM versions from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2140597
Also in the UKF thread i have found a post reply that says i don't need to have CWM or TWRP i can do it only with UKF.
Any ideas?

Did you unzip file? You need kernel.bin.md5 from zip.

Yes i did, i select the md5 file but i get this error. The only time i don't have this error is if i select the CWM 6.2 version which however is not recognised by UKF anyway so i guess this is why i don't get the error... the kernels that are recognised are labeled as unsupported for my device
Thanks for the quick reply shut_down

You have I9070P?
P.S. Yeah, you have. That is why UKF is telling you that your phone is not supported. Because it is not.

Yeah, but there is no CoCore for P on JB official. You can use it, but it is without NFC. And there was some problems, probably heating maybe. So that is why it is showing that your phone is not supported.

For now there is no custom kernel for P, you can use CoCore. Read in his thread what version is best for it. We only have development of CoCore right now, other kernels are abandoned.

Galaxy S plus i9001-Ican't flash any custom Rom from stock Rom

I'm on stock Rom GB 2.3.6 on my Samsung s plus and I tried to flash any Cyanogen Custom Rom in CWM ( Ics and Jb) and Always i get the same answer . O f course I rooted My phone ,Installed CWM and did all the wipes .Always the same answer no matter what version of Custom rom I tried to flash. What can I do?
Makesure you have to use correct version of cwm to install the cm. I recommend try cyanogenmod 10.1 JB 4.2.x . GO to the cyanogen official rom post (under ADC team).
FOllow all the instruction that stated inside the topic.
Any mismatch of the version of installation can fail to install rom.

Exactly.
Looks like your installation is failing because the file is for an I9000B. If you want to use CM10.1 on an I9001, you'll need to go here.

[Q] How to extract kernel from other ROM ?

I want to using certain kernel on other rom but Idk how . Someone ? :fingers-crossed:
What do you exactly mean? I use Semaphore kernel instaed of the standard-kernel in CM 10.2 ...do you mean something like this???
You have to download a new kernel which is available for you android-version and flash it via Odin....

Just download the zip file for the kernel and flash the zip file by going to recovery. And you will get switched to the kernel.
This is the alternative i forgot, thanks:good:

You don't have to extract kernels from other roms, you can just search on the development page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1786220
or you can choose any kernel you want here :
for android 2.3 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1112908
and for Jelly Bean : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1786220____http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1795274
just flash the zip file in recovery mode
And have you flashed an other kernel ??? Are you satisfied ?

[Q] How to install android Kiktkat 4.4 on my Samsung Galaxy Note Gt-N700

Hello,
I want to install Kitkar 4.4 on my Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000(India).
I'm completely not aware for this android installation. So please help me.
Please tell me steps and download links. I tried steps which is i got fro internet but most of the time file location was banned by government or removed. So again tried with CWM but still i got stuck. Now I'm using Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2, Build no- JZO54K.N7000DLSC, Kernel version- 3.0.31-906407(SMP PREEMPT WED MARCH 6 19:53:40 KST 2013). This is my phone details. Please suggest me for this model.
Thanks in advance.
Rahul.
I use Firefox with anonimox extesion to bypass the banned's site... But i'm in Italia. You Can try.
The Step to install kilkat are:
Install The correct philz kernel version.
Install the raw kernel and reboot the recovery.
Full wipe.
Install the 4.4 Rom
Install the gapps.
Wipe cache and dalvik
Roboot.
Inviato dal mio GT-N7000 utilizzando Tapatalk
try cm11 by herna (try the latest built by frantisheq) really stable and smooth
btw: full wipe means wipe data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik and manually format /system.

I've tried to install 4.4 kitkat on my note n7000 too but there are too much cusrom, such as asylum, omnirom, cyogenmod and much recovery mode like cwm, twrp, this is make me so frustating, what to choose what to install? If anyone can guide newbie like us step by step and also the link, the best step that never make our phone brick
just stay away from Stock ICS kernel (dont wipe anything using stock ics recovery)
then root your rom and make a backup of your efs (this is the most important step)
now each thread contains all the steps you need to follow, just read them carefully)
I advice you to try herna cm11 (very stable)

Ok my friend
I use this method to install cm 11 4.4 kitkat
1- I install philz kernel+safe kernel for my JB 4.1.2
2- I install cm 10.2 (4.3) or cm10.1 (4.2.2)
3- I install cm11(4.4)
It work to me and I install 3 kitkat rom
Or as he is already on philz kernel, just flash raw kernel reboot recovery and flash omnirom or asylum omnirom or Nameless Rom or DU or SlimKat

Install this recovery
http://downloadandroidrom.com/file/GalaxyNote/recovery/n7000-CWM-KitKatCompatible.zip
Aftarthat you can install kitkat 4.4.2
Just flash the raw Kernel from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397000
Then reboot into recovery directly (DO NOT reboot into system) then flash directly whatever you want of KitKat based ROMs.
Remember to follow the instructions of each ROM that is mentioned in the opening post of the thread.

so cwm is raw kernel too. How we know what kernel is support SELinux? So, if i dont instal philz kernel on my official stock rom before and then directly install cwm, so after that i can install kitkat ?

raw kernel r4 is cwm while r5 is TWRP. To root and get custom recovery for your stock rom,you must flash philz kernel. Once you have philz kernel, reboot recovery and from there flash r4 or r5 kernel and again reboot recovery and then do the wipes and flash any kitkat rom with gapps. Kernel with SELinux support are raw kernel, r4 and r5, Asylum kernel http://asylumrom.com/Asylum/Asylum-Roms/KitKat-4.4/N7000/kerner/.
