Hello,
I have recently bought galaxy note, which was already 1.5 year old.
I've heard that the users had to change the battery after 1 year of using.
So here's my problem.
The phone needs 2h to charge the battery from about 5% to 100% and I can use it only for 3h when the screen is on whole time.
Watching a movie uses about 35%.
My dad has note 2. He can use it whole day long and his batt isn't empty by the evening. Ok it has 3100mah instead of 2500, but the difference shouldn't be so big?
Here are some screenshots:

You think my battery is dead?
Are there some special behaviours that indicate the battery is old already?
Cause I remember there were some on my old X10.
Also could You post some of Your battery stats if possible?
You can look for background apps. But if the battery is old it will be like that.

I already did. When the screen and wifi are of the battery lasts good. But whenever some activity is there it goes down like hell.
So would You recommend replacing it?
Usually yes..

Ok, I've ordered new one. We will see if the battery life will improve
Nope, new battery hasn't improved the battery life
What battery did you buy and what rom/kernel are you on?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I was on cm10.2. The battery lasted 3h when screen was on.
I bought for 100% original battery and went back to ics. I also removed as many as possible autostart apps. Now the battery lasts about an hour longer.
Whenever I turn on the WiFi the battery drain increases rapidly.

Guys, I got 2 new Samsung oem batteries and they have crap life cycle like my old oem battery. Does this have to do with the battery, calibration or what I have installed?
I'm using stock rooted 4.0.4 with hydracore kernel. I have a lot of apps installed, but running in the background is almost 0. Anything to do with services running. How can I analyze what's screwing my battery life like that.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
Battery calibration doesnt increase your battery life
It just improves the accuracy of the displayed battery percentage
Use "betterbatterystats" app and you can find out the apps causing battery drain
also cpu spy can tell u if u r phone goes to deep sleep mode

What does this tell you?

Attach a screenshot of your phone after it was in sleep for few hours
Better take a screenshot when you wake up in the morning

There might be some app causing your phone not getting into deep sleep
Install betterbatterystats to find it out
But how can your battery be 96% without getting into deep sleep through out the night
If you keep your phone in charging,i think it will not enter into deep sleep
take a screenshot of the battery section in the phone
settings> battery> "click on the graph..
i huess it was put into charging

also make sure that oem battery is 100% original. They may look the same, but the devil is in the details

What Rom is this? Stock?
I also face this problem of excessive ram usage sometimes, then I restart my phone and kill the apps in task manager, then it shows about 325-350 free ram. Please any expert's comment will be of great help here.

is your phone lagging due to the heavy ram usage? android automatically cleans up ram when it needs it,so if your phone isn't lagging, there isn't anything to worry about

I see you using "GO blahblah" apps. Dont use GO apps. They use a lot of ram storage. Uninstall if and your ok

It could also be the USB port you're charging from. Despite USB standing for Universal Serial Bus, the amount of power given out for charging varies wildly depending on things such as cables, what device the USB port is on as well as the device being charged itself.

I second mrguy's opinion. I have lots of usb sources and cables lying around, some combinations I already labelled as slow charging, in the sense it takes whole day to charge, others charge from almost 0 to full in an hour or two. on same viper rom and stock kernel..
Sent from a pizza..
team7's kernel supports quickcharge
Been happening for about a week now anyone else having these problems? I'm running Mokee rom, will try re flashing soon
As you can see mobile data is eating everything and battery dropped from 70% to 0% instantly!

Good idea didn't think about that one lol
not much help as its for screen & cpu while this seems as the mobile data is munching on everything, I will just reflash the rom over the weekend.
I thought that if it used mobile data it would be bond to use CPU also

Quick update. New battery came today after like AGES! works like new

Does changing a new battery will improved the life?
Do you know any battery with higher capacity that can fit the Mi note pro?

You can use a new battery with the same capacity and you'll have as new battery life.
You cannot use higher capacity battery.

Looks like it's not here. Not sure if other carriers have it.
Device maintenance > battery > toggle percentage on status bar
I'd rather keep the percentage and hide the battery icon.

After getting rid of battery percentage install app from play store called Battery Percentage Enabler, and it places percentage on top of battery image.
