Hi,
I installed today Cyangenmod 10.1 but I don't like it.
My backup is overwritten with the Cyangenmod backup -_-
Soo how can ik go back to stock rom?
I had v20b on my device 4.1.2
now I have 4.2.1
Please help me
Just download the kdz and do a software update.
This will do a clean install, but since you don't have a backup it doesn't matter anyway.

it will restore your phone back to stock
after nvflashing v10b back on your phone, you can restore your backup if you like to. root and clockworkmod must be installed first though. To install clockworkmod you can also download the clockworkmod recovery img and replace recovery.img in the nvflash files. this will install cwm directly and you don't need to root your device.
You don't need to convert back to ext3. I'm not even sure if cm7 uses ext4...
The reason why you are not able to restore your backup is because of some bug in cwm with restoring boot.img I think..

Don't know if this is the right forum to ask help for this question since this is my first time here.
Well, i've tried both miui and cyanogenmod. I wanted to get back to stock rom, but my problems start here.
It wouldn't let me restore previous backup. It says it's done, but when the device reboots it get's stuck at the LG logo.
My backup is gone now.
I had to flash cyanogenmod again to use the phone.
It won't even let me do a factory reset. Still stuck at LG logo.
I've flashed backtoext3 and tried to flash custom rom, but i only get "installation aborted".
Now i have no clue how to get back to the original rom on my lg.
Can anyone help me please?
Ps. I have CWM recovery, and i don't have a backup of my stock rom.
Sorry if this is looks like a mess and for my bad English.
There is a way to flash your original rom by downloading it from here:
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=000000000000000&model=LGP990
(replace the zeros in the URL with your IMEI)
The browser's output will be something like this:
OK 000000000000000 LGP990 AVDHDW 104KPVH223375 20110423 V10F_00 http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LGP990/AVDHDW/V10F_00/V10F_00.kdz http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LGP990/AVDHDW/V10F_00/V10F_00.kdz GLOBAL/GLOBAL N N EI GSM
The link you see: http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LGP990/AVDHDW/V10F_00/V10F_00.kdz , is your ROM. Download it.
When you download it follow these steps here http://android.modaco.com/topic/339...workmod/page__st__20__p__1708746#entry1708746 . Yes, it is for the p970, but the procedure is the same for the O2X.
Hope this helps
Look for a answer in the android development thread.
I really really need a help!
By the way im using Cherry Mobile Magnum HD
First of all, i downloaded last night Cyanogen Mod 7.2 Bumblebee rom. and it was succesfully installed together with the CWM v5. After some tests i found it buggy and i was so upset that even though i back up my contacts and other "needed files" it was deleted and gone.
So i really need to go back to stock rom!
So here's what i did first:
- I just bring back my stock recovery to it's place so CWM v5 is gone.
- After that i Downloaded the Firmware of Cherrymobile magnum HD version 2.3 Gingerbread.
And i dont know what to do next?
- Should I install the Firmware via recovery?
- And after i install the firmware? will my stock rom be back? and Cyanogen Mod will be uninstall?
PLEASE! IT'S MY FIRST TIME TO HACK MY ANDROID PHONE and i wanted to go back to it's original rom!. Please help me!
Thankyou so much in Advance!
Rename your downloaded firmware file to firmware.nb0 and place it in the root of your SD card and flash it with stock recovery, you will get back your stock rom and CM will completely go away
Thanks for replying but, the bootloader is looping and restarting
EDITED: OMG I JUST WIPE DATA AND INSTALL THE UPDATE AND IT WORKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG..... AT LAST. MY PHONE IS BACK TO NORMAL THANKS TO YOU!

If you had taken the stock backup before installing custom rom, you can install the recovery apk form this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2123602&page=10 , install it as normal apk, reboot into recovery and restore with your backup.
It worked for me perfectly

There s a way to make Super Reset on 4X HD, but after a super reset guss what comes...
An ULTRA Reset which is basically vol- and Powering 0n the device.
After an ULTRA Reset if you are not satisfied with the results, you can try making an ULTIMATE RESET, by downloading v10h firmware and flashing it with tool called KDZ.
You can find many tutorials about this on the General section on this forum.
You previous system doesnt exist anymore.
Only way to get back to any stock LG Rom is sadly the pc-kdz way

Hi, device is rooted, and clockworkmod recovery 6.0.4.5 installed.
ROM is JB, the official update from LG. Today device reported there is an update to the installed firmware.
I rebooted in CM recovery, took a nandroid backup, booted, and accepted to download the official update to my official JB rom. After downloading I was asked to reboot (in order to install), and the phone reboots to the CM recovery.
From there I don't know what to do. I have tried rebooting, but again find myself to the CM recovery. I have tried "reboot to bootloader" and get stuck at the LG boot screen logo with the message "Now Ready!" in tiny white letters on the upper left corner.
I would try "install zip" but I don't know where the downloaded update is (if it even is in an acceptable zip format)
Phone isn't bricked, I guess I can always restore from the recently taken backup, but I really would like to know if there is a way to install this update.
Thank you

You're right, but you know, sometimes you just can't nail the right keywords especially if its not your native language. I searched, but obviously not good enough.

Sadly, this seems to be the case.. bummer.
Thanks everyone
Not even my nandroid backup can help me get to where I was before? So much for nandroid being the ultimate backup, a "snapshot image" of the device...
So, what if, I use CM recovery to install a custom rom, and then restore from my nandroid backup (being the official JB) ?
Flash with kdz flasher original ROM then flash cwm you can put back your backup. I think the problem starts that the update pushes something in the boot section that is expecting an other (read original) recovery . when you installed cwm it boots up cwm so that's why an nandroid backup doesn't work I think ( to be honest I'm not 100% sure this is correct)

I can't even flash cyanogenmod???
I downloaded latest stable build, copied it to sd card, selected it from the CM recovery ("install zip"), installed fine, reboot, still stuck at CM recovery!!!
What gives?

Have you yet followed the advice and installed the KDZ?
Trying to avoid that, as it seems too much work for a phone that was working fine, and stuck to recovery due to some silly boot flag or something.
Saw it as a chance to try cyanogenmod. But it seems having CM recovery and the cyanogenmod rom on the sd card won't cut it! Talk about failure..

I don't think you will have a choice. If you created the nandroid backup on your SD card then you aren't going to lose it, so just flash the KDZ, root again and install your backup, or accept the LG update and rebuild all your software again.
Yes, one thing is for sure. I had to install the KDZ to be able to proceed with anything..
It's just funny having a working CWM recovery and a cyanogen rom on the device and after flashing it, still not having a device that boots. A "recovery"/flash tool, should be able to "recover" from such a situation..

You can't blame the recovery. It is clearly stated many, many times that you should never attempt an official OTA update with a non-standard (rooted or recovery installed) device. On other devices you could even hard-brick AFAIK, so consider yourself lucky that you only had to reflash a KDZ and start again.
For restoring stock rom use this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2682146 I can confirm it works and it is (very) easy.
Yes that's what I used and I also confirm it works and is very easy.
