I saw a post somewhere that insinuated that launcherPro used more battery than the stock launcher, thus decreasing battery life.
Have any of you any comments regarding this? I have always been a LauncherPro user and i have always complained about battery life with various devices ( I found the HTC Inspire almost unusable because of poor battery life and the Atrix was a similar experience and even my broken HTC desire Z was borderline for battery).
I recently switched back to the stock launcher (albeit without actually uninstalling Launcher Pro) and I can't say I've noticed any difference in battery life.
I would say though that using the LP Pro widgets for Friends and having that do frequent sync checks will chew through some battery life, if you didn't have similar widgets on the go in the stock launcher.

I just got worse framerates when using Launcherpro, no battery drain though.
It was a must on the HTC Hero, on the nexus S its kind of pointless i guess.
Well as watsa,is leaving captivate development , I decided to shift ROMs now I like Galnet MIUI but. . .people say it has battery issues. Are the newer builds of MIUI as power efficient as apex. I used to get 18 hours battery life with above moderate use. . .If MIUI is weak in the battery department. . .suggest me a good ROM.

neophyte2008.
I've had no issues with Fusion VI. The best I've done is 2 days on battery with moderate use.

Thanks dj_mol3y_x8, I will give that theme a try.
CM9 Beta 8 gives me almost 40 hours of battery time. Those 40 hours includes 90 min of phone calls, playing Solitaire around 1 hour, listening to music (headphones on) for around 1 hour or so while traveling.
P.S. I use Advance Task Killer Pro and I have set AutoKill mode to aggressive.
Thanks

Use OOM Priority Charger:

And Apply in Recovery.
I also felt the same so try it works successfully extends battery life in the beta 9.
Guys, Thanks so much for the replies... I will try your suggestions.
P.S. Will hit thanks button as well

Cool Thanks
Just an Update.. may not be relevant to this topic however, might help if some one is interested...
Installed CM 10 Alpha 1 JB for Galaxy ACE. OS looks pretty cool However, has few glitches at present.
I have started another thread just in case if you would like to visit and have some suggestions for me
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1793141
launcher
TouchwizUX (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1730313)
nice and really smooth
I know there's a battery discussion thread on here, but could we either get a sticky or a thread where the original post is updated with suggestions that work or tips to improve the battery life on the Nexus 4?
I don't think anyone would deny the current battery drain is abnormal so I would love to see a thread where I don't have to page through 400 posts to see if there's any update from Google as to a new Android build that improves battery life to tips such as the poster who removed several installed components on his Nexus and saw an immediate improvement.
I think this issue is important enough that having a single post/resource to keep up with the latest news and tips is justified.
Thoughts?
Hi,
Yesterday i rooted my Galaxy Note using the LiveNote ROM.
The ROM itself is very good, very smooth and retaining that Touchwiz look that i love but i have found it have serious effects on my battery life. The battery life is diabolical, only lasting 1 hour and 22 minutes of screen time, half of which i was using wifi. Before the root, my battery was not good anyway, only lasting about 3 hours screentime but this new ROM has pretty much crippled my phone.
What i want to know is this, is there any way of keeping this ROM but vastly improving battery life, say to where i was before at around 3 hours screentime? OR perhaps is there another ROM with decent performance, using the Touchwiz interface and also having good battery life?
The phone is running Jellybean 4.1.2 and i am using Philz.
Regards
James

There is a way:
Start reading the uncountable (and mostly idiotic) threads about bad battery life after flashing a ROM.
Or read threads about battery life when the baterry is older than a year.
If that is too difficult or if you are too lazy then please stay on stock ROM - not only the life of the battery will benefit from it.

I do agree mostly with the previous reply.
Still, Sweet Rom 10.5 has good batery life and performance. Live Note seems to come with c.o.h kernel which has Gpu OC. Unless you have change kernel that may affected batery.
