[Q] usb file transfer on my linux box - Sprint HTC One (M7)

my device shows up fine but is there a reason I can not access the full memory? It says I have one like 1.5gb and can't transfer all my files.

HELP -- Internal storage disappeared

description: During file transfer from my PC to my Diamond the process was stuck, then sot reset i have looked on my diamond and couldn't find Internal Storage via file explorer.
via memory manager there is a message of " Internal Storage: not installed".
i dont have backup of Internal storage and i don't want to format it. how i can safe my Diamond?
thx
Internal Storage disappears when you connect USB
Hi
When you connect USB, you get two options - Disk Drive and Active Sync. If you connect as Disk Drive, the PC takes over and it cannot be seen inside the explorer of Diamond. Better connect with Active Sync for transferring data.
this works try it. google htc diamond internal storage hot fix.
I also have the problem that the internals storage can not be found anymore. I tried everything including double hard reset,... - internal storage could not be formated because it was not found or "not installed". I can connect my Diamond to the PC via ActiveSync but not as a storage device (harddisc).
Cant`t install the sprint hotfix on my german Diamond either (wrong device message).
There is a chance that your internal storage is infected by some virus. The virus for windows desktop versions might not affect Windows mobile, certain times, it could block you from accessing your internal storage.
I had this issue with my Symbian phone (nokia N91), where i got infected by an autorun.inf file, and symbian was unable to access data from the builtin harddrive.
I had this problem last night. Here's how I fixed it:
Connect the phone via USB, and select Disk Drive.
Go into Windows Explorer and wait for the drive to show up. Don't try opening it!
Just right click the drive and wait... When I did this, this step took 10 minutes!
When the menu finally loads up, click Format.
You should be able to leave the defaults that come up. But here's the settings to the best of my memory.
Format: Fat 32, Allocation: 4032 (or something like that), check Quick Format then click Format. And wait some more...

[Q] Can't copy the file to my NOOK 8G disk

Can't copy the big files (like video ,more than 200M) to my NOOK 8G disk by the USB cable ,but it's OK for the small files (like document, mp3 , less than 100M). After the copy start ,The PC will show the error "the disk is not ready", then the copy is interrupted. Erased and rebooted the NOOK, changed the PC and the USB cable, but the problem still exists. What's the problem? Thanks!

[Q] SGN freezes during file ransfer to from PC

Does anyone know why the SGN (or is it all android phones) do not multitask during file transfer to and from the PC?
I transfer many/large files to and from the external 64GB sandisk and would like to be able to use the phone during the file transfer - what is the problem - even the iphone can do this...

You connecting the phone through the MTP protocol or the USB mode?
In USB mode the apps and widgets that are on sd card will stop working and even can hang the phone as they stop responding to the system commands!
I connect my SGN via the USB cable to my PC so i can transfer files to the SGN. I have USB debugging off.
I have had no issues with copying files back and forth between my PC and SGN.
My un-answered question still stands: Why is there no multitasking during USB file transfer like on other smartphones?

Internal memory of Lumia 620 is not fully accessible in mass storage mode on PC

just bought lumia 620..didnt get memory card in retail package..so right now i just have phone's internal memory to store data..now the problem is..after connecting device to the PC, whenever i transfer files from PC to device, m able to see them in explorer of desktop os..but when i send .xap files from my android phone over bluetooth, m neither be able to install them in lumia nor able to see them in explorer when i connect it to PC..in simple words, where unrecognizable files (transferred over bluetooth) get stored in wp?? or how to see ALL contents of internal memory of wp?? i just want to remove those files transferred over bluetooth to clear the space and which are not seen in mass storage mode
hope you understand what i wanted to say..
You need SD card to side load applications.
Phone memory is not all seen by the system because part of it is occupied by windows phone OS root files, which protect themselves against other explorers.
Ya.. But how do I clear those files? Unnecessarily taking space.. seems internal memory connects in MTP mode n not in mass storage mode.. :X
You should be able to delete the files from the built-in file explorer from the phone.

Transfer Interrupted: unable to move media to SD card [SOLVED]

Anyone else getting this error message?
After using this phone heavily for the past month (and loving it despite all the controversy with the bootloader, btw), I've managed to fill up my internal memory, so I decided to pop my 32 gb micro SD into the phone, but not before erasing everything and formatting the card. However, upon attempting to transfer all my pictures/video/music to the micro SD, this is what happens. Is there a fix? Or do I just have to manually do the transfer through a file browser?
Figured it out thanks to this post in the Z2 forums: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2775213

I had the same problem with Xperia Z
In my case the problem were a few files created by DS Photo+ third party application. The files had characters within their names (colons) that are not allowed on FAT filesystems but are allowed on Linux/Android filesystems. This is why the app was able to save them on the Internal Storage but then the phone was not able to move them to the SD Card.
The solution whas to find and delete these malformed files using file manager application. After that transfer to SD Card worked like a charm again.
For reference: list of illegal characters for FAT filesystems: \ / : * ? " < > |
Good luck.

Turns out I had some files in a separate Camera folder that had colons :, so once I renamed them, the transfer finally went through.

You can't transfer if a single file is over 4gb. That's a limitation :/
