Usb device not recogniced - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Dear xda developers ,
Since some time i have a new phone the htc one . When i got my phone it worked perfectly when i attached it to my computer , and also to my laptop. But recently it when i connect it to my computer it gives me this message:
USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED : one of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned , and windows cannot recognize it. for assistance in solving this problem , click this message
I got everything on my phone settings and so on in right way. I allready got alot of android phones and i know everything about it , It doenst connect to my laptop ether same message . After contacting HTC Service , sending it to someone who can fix it has no use and i wil waste my money . At least that is what they told me. I reinstalled drivers , i updated my phone and i buyed new cable's to try them out, nothing works.
So my question is: Is there a way to fix this ? ore is this defenitly a hardware problem
Thanks for ur time allready!
Greetings from holland

have you tried killing all samsung/kies processes in the taskmanager (ctrl+shift+esc) that could help
If your phone is only not recognized in download mode, try this solution:
http://arvindgaba.com/computer/sams...o-install-for-samsung-galaxy-s-kies-resolved/
It worked for me when my Windows 7 x64 suddenly wouldn't recognize mine. Something gets screwed by a Windows update in some cases (one which specifically supplies Samsung drivers).
Thanks

Thanks, I have this problem for 40 days (I spend many, many time looking for the solution), sometimes my SGS connect (I need to reeboot 1 to 3 times or more) and connect. When is connected I disconnect and try again and the same problem the PC dont recognize de SGS, but now I connect then disconnect, connect again and work. I hope that this solution work always. I hope, up to now work. I was looking for a solution all days, I saw this alternative, but it was difficult to do, but with the link all was very simple and the most important it work for me. Sorry for my english, and Thanks again I dont try in download mode, but i have an alternative to go to download if the SGS is connected. Carlos
But when I reboot the SGS the problem appears again I will continue with this issue. I dont know I am lost.

First see if your phone is able to connect with any other laptop or pc if yes its prob with your laptop may be damaged usb
If no its prob with phone usb
Since you already reset both pc nd phone OS.
Remote chance :Install HTC driver on laptop nd then try

I would try to install the HTC Sync drivers first. If that doesn't help, it's probably a hardware issue.

[Q] USB

Htc desire c connected to pc in disk drive mode.computer detects as android phone.but no drives are coming and i cant browse files.no detection in htc sync mode.but charging is done..wats the problem?help me.i am using windows 8 and nameless rom v7.1.1
I also had a similar problem. It was solved after I did a full wipe and reflashed the Rom again.
But before doing that make sure all the drivers are installed correctly. Also try deleting all the scripts in init.d (might be because of some script too) reboot and retry

There was an issue with the N7 (and Android coding istr) . People were connecting with usb3 sockets on their pc's . Using usb 2 solved the problem .
Sadly a lot also reported issues with the usb cable too . So try a different usb cable if you have it .
I know it all sounds freakish and I have never had the problem with my phone or N7 but you never know .
Hope this helps

how to delete it?
You can delete init.d scripts by going into your /system/etc/init.d folder.Mount system as r/w using root explorer before deleting. Then reboot and retry.I'm not sure it will help though(but no harm in trying )

its a daft question I know , but have you accidentally set the phone to go to charge only when connected to pc and not to ask what connection you would like ?
the other is did you ever have htc sync working on that pc with windows8 ?(or have you upgraded since you unlocked your phone) If win8 is new and after you unlocked your phone you may have to do research or borrow a win 7 pc
I've never actually been able to get HTC sync to actually work on my windows7 pc. After quite literally a fortnight of searching and research and trial and error(this forum for the desire c didn't exist then, and I had no understanding what xda was or what they could do as this is my first smart phone) I eventually got my usb drivers to work using an old version of HTC Sync version 3.3.10 is what I'm using . I have usb working but HTC sync doesn't actually work .
I know these questions are stupid but they need asking to troubleshoot your problem .

first thing then > check usb debugging is still turned on .
2nd go to settings>connect to pc > default connection type> and make sure its set to HTC sync Manager as its default setting..
If you set it to HTC sync and connect it to the pc and you stil;l get nothing my gut says its at your pc side . usb drivers or some other issue .
did you try a different usb cable ?
you have to give me some info back as to what steps you have tried so i can start ruling each one out.
do you have any nandroid backup at all ? it doesn't matter how old it is , if we can flash back to someting we know that works we at least can connect it to the pc and once again rule out if its the phone end or the pc end .
