Hi Guys,
I'm currently running CM10.2-20130827 and experiencing some odd behavior in some apps.
Namely when using apps that have in streaming adverts built in the screen goes black when the adverts appear, I can circumvent this somewhat by putting my finger on the screen and moving it about, but if I then remove my finger it goes black again. I think it must be something to do with how the adverts are overlaid on the screen.
I am seeing this behavior in the following apps
Bad Roads
Tapiture
The Chive
to name a few, I basically see it in any app that has streaming adverts.
Does anyone know if there is a fix for it, or does it need to be escalated to the CM crew.
Quick search would have gottin you the answer of this is a know problem with cm10.2 graphical glitchs in browser and apps that have advertisements. Use adaway to remove adds and it will be greatly reduced

Hey guys, zi have looked all over and can't seem to find a fix for this issue. My rooted Nook works fine with the exception of the Google Calendar app. There is a big white box along the top when in day or week view. This box makes it hard to see the dates i'm selecting. Dealers es anyone know of a fix for this?
Same problem here. Its really annoying.

Yep, I have that as well.
Has anyone figured this one out or are we the only 4 people on the planet having this issue.
The white box blocks out the top of the calendar and makes it impossible to see the dates
I have the same issue.

I just use the agenda view and it goes away
Here's the fix I've seen mentioned multiple times, involves changing a png to a transparent image:

Many apps are usable but not optimized at all such as Google Reader which would be awesome with a UI similar to Gmail. Also while Kindle works the background image doesn't take up the whole screen and the page turns are choppy. Anyone hear of if and when these apps will be updated? I just got my Xoom so I haven't been following this for long.

Im new to android so take it easy one me. I just converted from iOS to Android so i got lots to learn still.
I have a HTC One Running viperROM with Wolfpack kernel.
I have noticed that while running Pandora (haven't used any other music apps) i get a lot of stuttering (Skipping) throughout the whole time it plays no matter what song plays. I noticed it stopped skipping when ViperBoy sent an OTA update (1.0.3). i looked at the change log and noticed that he Improved hosts file code.
Now i went and added a bunch of new apps to my HTC One and notived it started to do it again. After going crazy for about a day i started looking around for the problem and noticed that i installed an ad blocking app (adfree) that happens to mess with the host file. uninstalled it and the problem was gone.
after this i decided to download other ad blocking apps and it did the same with all. (Adaway & Adblock).
I don't know if someone already brought up this issue anywhere else on the forum since i did do a search and nothing was really found.
I just figure i would give a heads up on this situation just in case some others are having the same issue.
(Remove or disable ad blocking apps and Pandora is working fine.) hopefully that helps some of you.
This was a major piece of discussion in the viperrom thread.

I know I could just google it, or read and find out, but I really wanna know from people who actually use and make it.
What is HALO? I've seen it in many roms these days and it's got something to do with bubble notifications? I haven't gotten the slightest clue
so could someone explain it to me?
Thanks for answering this noobie's question
I use it for Whatsapp, its like the facebook messenger. Floating window

Imagine Facebook's Chat Heads.
Now imagine that they appear whenever you get a notification.
Now imagine that each bubble opens the notification's app in a minimised window rather than opening the app itself.
That is Halo.

I've been getting stupid pop up ads on my phone for the last week or so. I read that on 4.2+ I can long press on the ad and it'll tell me which app is causing this but it's not working for me. I'm using Dodol launcher; could that be why? I've also tried TrustGo Ad Detector and it doesn't tell me squat. How do I find out exactly which app is causing these ads so I can get rid of it?

Is there anything in the notification window when these ads popup? Do you have a screen shot?
I ask because there seems to be two different kinds of ads: those who have a notification and those who don't. With the first kind, you can just do what you said and kill the app's notifications. If it's the second kind, you will have to uninstall anything that may be causing it until it goes away.
My wife used my old S3 for a while and was plagued by this problem. I had never seen it before, but she had a few shopping apps that I don't use.

There's nothing in the notification bar. The really sucky part is that I downloaded quite a few new apps and now I have to get rid off most of them just to be sure.
