App now on the market, thanks for all your help.
great emulation. see my magic/sapphire device specs below...
no sound
very slow response to fire/shoot tap
...other than those issues, nice work.
Hi, great looking and I like the neat touches about adding 10p etc.
Comments - as posted above, no sound and the motion of the base is very slow either by motion detection or using the trackball. Though the trackball seemed to be very intermittent.
I'm running a T-Mobile G2 touch with the latest stock rom. All other background apps, had been disabled too.
Most gracious thanks for your comments. I think I've found the sound bug proper now. I've also found a vast improvement in speed after some GFX tweaks.
The control issues sound odd as both the emulator & my i7500 don't have these problems (but neither have a trackball, the emulator has no sensor), maybe the speed increase will fix things, as the phone was probably getting bogged down with unnecessary drawPixels.
Version 5 is available in the 1st post above, be grateful of any further feedback.
Edit: I've also updated the sensor updated time to maximum to see if that helps.
Great improvemnet.
Sound - now works, firing, explosions, flying saucer. Though the sound of the "invaders" moving is slow, but I am guessing that is as the original?
Movement - The motion sensor works fine now, though the trackball still does not function for left or right movement. If you try the trackball, the app says "motion sensor disabled", but the trackball does not move the player. The fire function works when you depress the ball though.
I love it, takes me back
Daft question but
Could this be used with other arcade roms?

Yes, a limited few though, those what run on similar 8080 hardware (a few tweaks may be needed).
I will probably add these later.
OK, nearly at the finishing post. I reckon I've sorted the trackball issue, though I don't have a device with a trackball to test it on. I've also added the suggested full screen mode, though it runs a bit slow even after skipping a few frames, but I've left it in for the moment as it will encourage me to further optimize (will probably have a go at h/w acceleration in v2).
Version 6 Now available in the 1st post.
Trackball works fine now, not sure if it's just me but it seems slower than using the tilt method. Nice work.
I prefer the "bordered" view as it reminds me of the actual screen in the cabinet with the border around the black and white screen. Though on some machines they added coloured bands across the screen so that the invaders "appear" to change colour the lower they got. Maybe you could add that in?
"Edited"
Just a thought, not sure if you can do it, but can you override the "back" key functionality, then you could use it as a fire button and the trackball would be movement only. This way it is slightly more authentic in having the left right control and a fire button just like the original.
OMG that's slow!
Uninstalled... sorry
Love the idea, though

Seem to have a problem there... read the new control instructions in version & to see if that helps. It's hard to sort until I get a real device.

You can still used the touch screen when using the trackball.
I don't fancy overriding the back key

I've tried extra hard to speed things up a bit more in version 7.
Might be able to squeeze a bit more???
NEW UPDATE: v7
more speed
vibrator
control tweaks
U seem to just have increased the gamespeed, it still laggs like before.
Very slow and lag in sound.
Looks promising...
Hi guys and gals.
Long story... Gave my code a bit of decent profiling to see what was going on with the trackball. Seems like the cpu emulation core is taking so much time up that there is very little left for the main thread to pick up any events, and when it did, it bogged down the cpu thread. Trackball events have a huge time overhead with keyPressEvents the least, TouchEvents lie some where in the middle.
A nice solution would be to replace my java 8080 cpu source with native code (anyone want to help out here?), but my skills level is probably not up to it.
So, trackball support has now gone completely , replaced with screen buttons. Dpad will still work though, and touching almost anywhere on the screen, other than the left/right buttons will fire too (so your fingers aren't all over the place). Let me know what you's all think.
Found some extra speedups from the cpu core too, but had to butcher a lot of nicely structured code to get the gains.
Updated the first Post with the last version.
Thanks all.
Tidied up the GUI and while I was there...
Deluxe Support.
Catch the APK in the first post.
Could someone give it a final try to see if the controls problem has been fixed???
Thanks very much.
Now on the market. Thanks for all your help.

[AOSP]LiquidMetal for the Incredible
First I need to thank Jermaine151 for allowing me (to attempt) to continue his work on the LiquidMetal For the Incredible port. Which goes to say I have to thank BigRushDog for his ROCK SOLID Metal build that the RC1 for the Incredible was based off of. I would like to also thank Sac23 and bmxerkid954 for allowing me to use their work and port their build to the Incredible, and were used for Jermaine151's previous versions of this rom. BIG thanks to Koush and the Cyanogen tam for their CM6 files and all they do. Thanks to Koush for his kernel and too many contributions to name. A thanks to gmichaelow for answering questions asked by Jermaine151. A special thanks to Incredibledoes for the original Liquid port. Thanks to jrummy for his ROM Toolbox (look into the donate version.) A thanks to 3MX10 for helping me out with all my stupid questions and helping me pick up where Jermaine151 left off. A special thanks to ALL the testers that have been involved with this project (before or now) for their time and trust that their phones wouldnt get bricked.
If i forgot anyone, it wasn't intentional. PM me and i will update this (this was based off Jermaine151's thread on XDA).
BigRushDog's thread- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=870944
Sac23 and bmxerkid954's thread- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=903470
Jermaine151's thread- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920804
This ROM is based on Android 2.2 (Froyo) and is built from the Android Open Source Project Code (AOSP) With the Acer Liquid Metal UI on top. (continuing where Jermaine151 left off)
*This rom was not intended for the INC, it is a port and has bugs; it is built off the Metal base. Close to it original source code, just modified for the your phone*
-Proximity Sensor doesn't turn the screen off immediately, but prevents buttons from being pressed when the phones against your face and eventually does turn the screen off. (Works perfectly on LiquidLight)
-Location and Security FC's (Crazy workaround: Rename Phone.apk to Phone.apk.bak, reboot, go intomenu and make changes, rename back and reboot - thanks iceman99393)
-No LEDs for notifications (I'll see what I can do. Any help is appreciated)
-LED flashes orange when charging and turns solid orange when fully charged
-No TV Out
-Changing the Dolby Mobile settings could throw you for a loop.
-CarHome doesn't play nice and will not be included.
-Light sensor (Rom includes Brightness widget)
PLEASE READ - Tips & Tricks:
-To Drag Icons to Other Screens Faster
Drag the icon to the numbers at the bottom of the app drawer
-To Dial *228 for Activation or PRL update (*228 FC's on some AOSP roms)
Dial *228+ (long press the numeral zero key to add the plus sign)
-To Hide the Whole Dock or Half of it
Drag ALL of your icons for the launcher into the app drawer and the notification bar will rest at the bottom of the screen.
Leave just 4 icons in the top row of the launcher and the dock will become half size.
-To Do Normal Reboot/Recovery Reboot
Use Quick Boot app.
-To Make the Weather More Accurate
Open your widgets app (either with the icon or by long pressing the home button, while the screen is unlocked).
Long press the weather widget and drag it to the trash can in the bottom left.
Hit the "+" button and add weather again. It will let you search for your specific city.
-If You don't Like all of the Vibration Feedback, You Can Turn it Off
For Buttons: Settings-->Sound-->Haptic feedback
For Stock Keyboard: Settings-->Language and Keyboard-->XT9 Text Input-->Preferences-->Vibrate on Keypress
-If You Don't Like the Transitions, You Can Turn Them Off
Settings-->Display-->Animation-->Some or None
-If You Don't Like the Launcher, Install Your Favorite Launcher (FIRST!!!!) and THEN Change it
Settings-->Applications-->User Interface. After rebooting it will ask your to choose you launcher (DO NOT CHOOSE LAUNCHER2) (Thanks cooljames2186 for finding this)
If you don't install another launcher before doing this, you may end up in a bootloop
-If You Select Custom Wallpapers and No Longer Want Them Displayed in the Wallpaper (Home Decor) app
Use Root Explorer (or your favorite file manager) and navigate to here: /data/data/com.acer.android.breeze.launcher/wallpapers/user/
Delete any of the numbered folders (i.e. 1, 2, etc)and they will immediately disappear from the wallpaper app.
What's Included:
MMS (Send/Receive)
720P Camcorder
8MP Camera
GPS works
Bluetooth works (Wiimote should work but I can't test that)
Working Wi-fi
Wireless Tether (I've tested with included kernel)
Koush's kernel from CM6.1 (Thanks Koush!)
Gingerbread Keyboard is the default
Google Talk
AdFree
Brightness Widget
T9 Dialing like SENSE!!!
MORE Acer Bloatware Removed
Zipaligned and Deodexed
VERY Fast System (Please allow it to settle down after first flashing)
New widgets
Verizon apps show up in the market
and much, much, more..
Instructions:
1. Download the Rom to your SD card.
2. Nandroid
3. Wipe data/factory reset, Wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache (i recomment formating /boot and /system in advanced menu)
3. Flash the rom zip via recovery.
4. Boot it fully (You shouldn't get a FC if you hit back arrow at region selection, but the FC doesn't hurt anything).
5. Go through set up or skip though it.
6. Set up your Gmail account, let it sync, get your updates from the market.
It may be sluggish after your first boot (Rom's take time to settle in). 7.Please give it 15 mins or more (depending on how much media you have on internal memory and your sdcard) because the media scanner is going through all of your media, adding it into it's database and creating thumbnails.
8. Enjoy!
**PLEASE do not ask for ETA's on updates (I will do what I can with the help i'm able to get)**

honestly i forgot all about it. i've been up for like 20 hours straight. I went through, updated all the apps and tried to slim it down a little. I added the ziggy kernel, and it's so smooth (if it's possible to be more than it was.) thanks again.
I'll update OP with changes in the future.
Thanks again to all that helped me out, and were involved before I came along.

Please do, and let me know what you think.

Have you tested this with Chad's Froyo Incredikernel? If not, I'll flash that after I get around to flashing this ROM and report back.
EDIT: After I test the ROM with the kernel you use, of course.
No I haven't tried his incredikernel yet, but as long as its an aosp froyo compatible kernel it should work. I'll download now and try.

Ok cool. I've been on my phone a decent amount today and am waiting on a couple calls, so if I can't get to it today I'll get it tonight. Looks really cool. I am running NilsP's 3.5. Gingersense at the moment which is really good. I would prefer an AOSP ROM but the stock look is too boring to me and MIUI is too iPhone like, although it has some really cool looking themes. This may be just what I'm looking for lol
Thanks for trying. All credit goes to those listed in OP. right now its just updated (apps) and slimmed down. But there are things in motion. Hopefully this takes off again.

Yep, no problem. And by stock look, I meant like what you would get on a Nexus or a standard AOSP ROM, not this. Hope I didn't cause any confusion.
Man this is awesome so far, I have tried a lot of different roms and this is by far the one I like the most. Thank you
@Bull, I figured that was what you meant.
@Dark, I was away from the Inc for a while. But this was my favorite ROM. I'm hoping to get it bug free. And i'm going to try my hardest to get a GB version, if we can get a system dump. I've got a couple emails out.

So far the only issue I've seen is GPS doesn't work in navigation, unless it takes a while to lock on and I just want patient enough. Other than that it's rock solid.

This is skyl1n3, originally made for the d4 by z4ch_skyl1n3. It contains beats, fully functioning inverted gnow, inverted gapps built in (no gapps needed), themed, oc'd, extra gov's and i/o scheduler, and it's fast and good on battery. It is an AOKP based rom. Included now are practically all the mods and tweaks from the original d4 version of this rom. Only difference between the 4 & 5 slot versions is an fps cap which I had to keep on the 4 slot version because it would not boot (tweak can affect stability).
v1.2 ***MUST BE ON SS3 TO INSTALL***
-support for 4 & 5 slot devices
-added camera & gallery 4.2
-added keyboard 4.2
-added CPU sleeper to maximize battery
-added back trebuchet
-added inverted gdrive, google+, google music, twitter
-added new alerts and ringtones
-updated gnow lib

So some quick feedback, it could use a couple of more ring tones and delivery notification options. It customization is very good, almost overwhelming. The battery life so far seems to be better than the Axiom rom. The data doesn't seem to like bouncing back and forth between 3g and 4G like it does were I live. I am definitely interested to see how this rom grows.

An odd quirk I'm having is with Alarm Clock Plus. I test my alarm and it does the tones and speaks the time like it should, but in the morning when the alarm actually goes off all my phone does is vibrate. I've run the app on other ICS roms with no issues so not sure if it is just a compatibility issue with this rom or an oddity in the audio coding. Other than that, this rom has so many amazing settings choices. I could be tweaking this for so long it will help my crack flashing addiction
EDIT: The no sound issue for alarm only happens when I have the phone on the charging dock. I left it laying on the nightstand last night and the alarm did what it is supposed to this morning. It seems that under Setting > Dock > the audio isn't even able to be selected so that may be where the issue lies.
Also, now that I have ditched my D3 in favor of my Bionic, these are some other things I have found.
Seems to be some glitching in the screen rotation (ie. shrinks and then pops back when rotating.)
I have lost the phone function screen when on calls (ie. all I see is the notification bar)
Other than that, everything else is wonderful. Compared to the ICS issues I had on the D3, i'm loving having the bluetooth working clearly and camera function.
Thank you for porting this and for the original dev who put it together. Can't wait to see what you throw our way post Beta
EDIT: I'm starting feel like I'm the only one running this So, I've also found the Torch does not function, both in the notification icons and the power menu. I am also getting a battery drop abruptly from around 40 that goes down to 20. I have done a battery stat wipe and the run down and charge up, that's the only fix I can remember from my D1 days.
I've tried every time for the Bionic, and and this is by far the best rom. The only issue is the gallery forecloses when you try to crop a pic. Camera, camcorder, and panoramic works. I decided to replace this cam (4.2) with the stock (4.0) ICS camera and gallery. This rom is very stable, and fast. A lot of customizations with this rom. When I have more then 3 issues with a rom, I don't use it anymore. This rom, the only issue was the gallery.

I'm using it to. You're not the only one.. Lol. torch works for me, but I'm using the stock ICS camera and gallery. It didn't work for me when I was using the 4.2 camera. There's a setting for the battery 1% mod. I have a extended battery, which all rooms misread anyway. That's why it drops like that. Use the battery circle mod, it reads it better.

*Edit* Ok, Rom installed and working fantastic. I was able to get wifi tether to work however, without encryption. Also, if you turn on and off wifi tether in numerous succession my phone crashed. I'm also experiencing a huge battery drop from 58% to 47% within 10 minutes after initial install of the rom. That's ok, I use the phone alot on wifi and lte. Thank you for this rom
Hey everyone,
due to the high resolution and comparably large screen estate I would like to use a lower screen density of around 410dpi, instead of the stock 480. :fingers-crossed:
One example:
On my Galaxy Nexus I was used to having a 24dpi high navigation bar at the bottom of the screen.
It was small but still I was able to hit the buttons accurately.
Same goes for the small keys of my keyboard of choice, Swiftkey.
Since I am on the HTC One and I flashed a Custom ROM, which I am running on 410dpi and wanted that stock android navigation bar at the bottom even at 48dpi (which is like 1.7x the height of the one I was using on my Galaxy Nexus) I have trouble hitting the buttons.
This is very disappointing.
It feels like the Touch layer of the HTC One is not that accurate
Is it just me or is this a known problem?
(Couldn't find anything via search, though)
Any ideas what to do about it?
All the best and thanks in advance :good:
I don't see this at 360dpi which is what I have mine at, but I do see it at 240, but everything then is silly in size.
Have you enabled the show touches in dev options and checked where its actually pressing?
Always keep forgetting about that! Thanks!
That is pretty weird...the touch inputs seem to be quite accurate, though. (Debugging Tool)
But it doesn't recognize them in something like "the upper half of the navigation bar" :/
I quickly shot a Video (sorry not the best focus point )
One can clearly see that I am hitting the home button several times, but the input doesn't get recognized.
That is really really weird and unsatisfactory :/
I gave it a shot for you... It seems to work fine on 36dp and above. 30 and 24 exhibit the same behavior as your video.
FYI: I'm running SlimROM at 361dpi. That was the default for me when I went from ARHD 10.2 to Slim b6 and it has stuck with me since then. I tried to get the same look in RootBox but it didn't work the same, so I went back to SlimROM b6.8, and am now on SlimROM b7.
Thanks :good:
I am starting to believe that this is might be caused by the Logo-Button-Hack.
If you peek closely from the side under the tip of your finger touching the button and starting from the very bottom of the glass area there is just no response at all on the logo. It's like the first pixel of the screen are allocated to the logo-button and not the area below the screen.
Maybe an area of lets say 10-15 pixels height is used for that and therefore not any longer available for the nav bar.
Which doesn't really matter if you are hitting the comparably huge app-icons in the drawer otherwise
Hi, everyone.
I was given an (old) Samsung Galaxy Pad 10.1N (GT-P7501) some time ago. Now I got around updating it from Android 3.2 (!!!) to stock 4.04 and then (since some apps still didn't work) to CM 10.1 (the latest I could find; equivalent to 4.2). Those ROMs are for GT-P7500 but I read that there were no hardware changes, only design, so I tried. Apps work now.
But: The quick settings pulldown can't be pulled down. This is not a drama since I cant go through the settings, too. It's just somewhat annoying.
I found this thread with a related (but not identical) problem: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2428611 Setting the clock to 24h or 12h on the tablet doesn't make any difference.
The thing is though, that when the tablet is horizontal, I can pull down the notification pulldown about two thirds of the screen from the left while the pulldown is only about one third of the screen wide. So something may be wrong with the scaling of the touch vs. pixels for the pulldowns only. (The touch works as expected otherwise.)
In that Thread I linked above adgud mentioned an XML file. - Since Cyanogenmod is dead, I'm asking here: Where in the image can I find that one? (Got it from http://droidbasement.com/galaxy/roms/cm10.1/p4/)
Is it in the boot.img? - What filesystem is that? OSFMount said it mounted it but windows apparently couldn't make out the FS.
Thanks for any help.
PS: I know, I'm about 5 years late with those questions. But what can I do?
