[ROM][GT-P7501][CM 10.1]quick settings panel not opening - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, everyone.
I was given an (old) Samsung Galaxy Pad 10.1N (GT-P7501) some time ago. Now I got around updating it from Android 3.2 (!!!) to stock 4.04 and then (since some apps still didn't work) to CM 10.1 (the latest I could find; equivalent to 4.2). Those ROMs are for GT-P7500 but I read that there were no hardware changes, only design, so I tried. Apps work now.
But: The quick settings pulldown can't be pulled down. This is not a drama since I cant go through the settings, too. It's just somewhat annoying.
I found this thread with a related (but not identical) problem: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2428611 Setting the clock to 24h or 12h on the tablet doesn't make any difference.
The thing is though, that when the tablet is horizontal, I can pull down the notification pulldown about two thirds of the screen from the left while the pulldown is only about one third of the screen wide. So something may be wrong with the scaling of the touch vs. pixels for the pulldowns only. (The touch works as expected otherwise.)
In that Thread I linked above adgud mentioned an XML file. - Since Cyanogenmod is dead, I'm asking here: Where in the image can I find that one? (Got it from http://droidbasement.com/galaxy/roms/cm10.1/p4/)
Is it in the boot.img? - What filesystem is that? OSFMount said it mounted it but windows apparently couldn't make out the FS.
Thanks for any help.
PS: I know, I'm about 5 years late with those questions. But what can I do?

[Q] Tablet mods questions for nook color? Kindly help

Hello- first of all thank you for all the efforts that you guys (xda-developers) have put into making Nook Color a cool tablet.
I have pretty much gone through all the ROMs out there and have a few questions:
1. I am looking for a ROM that does not have this phone, camera and other not so relevant stuff for Nook Color. I want my Nook Color to feel and run like a tablet and not like a tablet running phone OS. Is there one out there?
The stock ROM does have more of a e-reader/tablet feel but the home screen sux (I think).
2. The buttons/soft keys in the ROMS I have tested are tiny and hard to use. Once again that is one of the good things about Stock ROM it has big buttons and if you have big fat hands like me they are easier to use. Any mod/theme/setting to make all the buttons typically BIGGER?
Thanks again for your work and support!
(If i have asked questions and have already been asked, my apologies. Please direct me to the relevant thread)
Doesn't changing the screen density do this? I believe some people change the screen density to a value of 250 or so to make the icons appear bigger. I think it does cut something off, though. Do a search, it might be what you want.
Tablet Tweaks is the thread title I think.
I am on my phone now so no links or long post.
Your best bet MAY be honeycomb, long term.
The tablet tweaks are still being tested but are a tremendous improvement.
right now it is a separate rom (based on latest CM7) compiled every few days by the dev
It IS considered at best beta last I knew. Project is only a week or so old.
I use CM7 with the tablet tweaks and oc kernel and have few problems; everything that does act up is being worked on actively.
I'm currently on customized nookie froyo with wretched's theme.
Looks and feel good to me:
Rom:
Theme:
Additional app:
- Button savior instead of softkey for full screen app. It's less intrusive
- No Lock : disable the lockscreen, when pressing a button the nook wake up without the phone styled lockscreen.
I use zeam as my launcher with stock rooted. I don't see any 'phone' artifacts anywhere. I imagine this would be the same for any rom.
I remapped volume up to back and don't even use soft keys or the like anymore. If all the buttons are too small then I think a density bump is your best bet.

[Q] Status bar corruption issues in Liquid Gingerbread

I am running Liquid Gingerbread ROM version 3.0 and I installed it just two days ago. However, I have already managed to screw something up. Something I have done has caused status bar corruption. When the notifications are closed, my battery icon does not "line up" with the actual meter - the green section isn't the right height and sometimes it doesn't show at all. It's like it is referencing the wrong part of the image containing the bar. Also, when I open the notifications, there is a bunch of random text at the top of the screen that looks like a bunch of salutations - I found the full string and it includes DR, MR, MRS, PASTOR, etc.
What do I need to clear/edit/delete/erase/run to fix this? I've messed around with Android and *NIX for a long time but I am at a loss on this one.
I can't post links but you can see a demonstration of these issues at i.eho.st/ppil41mx.png and i.eho.st/ppqb39u1.png
Nevermind -- what I did to fix this was NANDroid backup my data: partition, reflash the same ROM, then restore the data: backup. Apparently whatever caused this was saved in system: because that took care of it. Thanks for reading anyway!
Here is what my status bar said, in case someone is googling for this problem: 1LT, 1ST, 2LT, 2ND, 3RD, ADMIRAL, CAPT, CAPTAIN, COL, CPT, DR, GEN, GENERAL, LCDR, LT, LTC, LTG, LTJG, MAJ, MAJOR, MG, MR, MRS, MS, PASTOR, PROF, REP, REVEREND, REV, SEN, ST

[Q] Stunner 2.3.11 Issues with pie and performance control

I accidently posted this in the general thread instead of the Q/A thread. Can't seem to move it there. My sincere apologies.
I am trying to get Stunner 2, specificly pie controls and performance control, to fully work on my note.
Symptoms (on both 2.3.3 and 2.3.11):
- Pie control turned on but not showing. Tried about all combinations of pie control settings to get it to work.
- Performance control shows slider handles fixed to the far left, and cannot be moved.
- Superuser access notifications seem to be off at times (ie. showing 'Superuser granted to Theme Chooser' when i toggle Pie controls)
These symptoms occur directly after flashing the ROM and initial setup (no settings changed, no apps installed). I have also tried it while having extended desktop turned on as some suggested and tried multiple dpi settings.
I have tried to reflash the ROM multiple times, following instructions to the letter (this is my first post here but i'm a frequent visitor and have flashed probably over 50 ROMs on my note in the past). So full wipe, dalvik cache wipe, /system format etc.
Have been searching for a solution for hours now, have scanned the entire development thread, forum search, google, you name it... to no avail.
I loved stunner v1 back then and the vids showing off the pie controls make me Want it!
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!
1) Pie control turned on but not showing. Tried about all combinations of pie control settings to get it to work.
2) Performance control shows slider handles fixed to the far left, and cannot be moved.
3) Superuser access notifications seem to be off at times (ie. showing 'Superuser granted to Theme Chooser' when i toggle Pie controls)
Answering you:
1) Did you try to slide your finger from out of the screen to the inside? Because i never had a single issue with Pie
2) doing some reading before posting and using search would help a lot, this is a known issue...
3) Install SuperSU? It has more features and it is more stable!

I have the same problem.
I must admit, it never crossed my mind to try PIE as I've never used it before and I was busy getting used to AOKP/CM10.1 having moved from TW JB.
Thought I would try it as you mentioned the problem and I can't get it to work either.
I am running on 240DPI, don't know if the DPI has anything to do with PIE functioning correctly.
I did think of looking for the app and wiping data and cache, but I can't find anything that looks like it is PIE.
Not the end of the world for me as I didn't intend to use it in the first place, but would be interesting to see how it works.

Looks like it might be DPI related.
I am running on 240DPI, and this I haven't changed.
The default PIE settings didn't work for me, so I changed them to the following:
Trigger Size - Big (This is what makes it work!!)
Pie Gravity - Right (shouldn't matter, but I wanted it on the right)
Pie Size - Large (Gigantic is too big for comfortable one handed operation, with Small the info text is too small for me)
Pie Style - Default (default)
Pie Gap - Huge (default)
The other settings are personal preferences.
All working fine for me now.
EDIT: I have changed the Trigger Size from Huge to Big, as I had some problems with the trigger area overlapping with my on-screen keyboard, so bizarrely I couldn't press the P key on the keyboard. Setting the Trigger Size to Big has resolved this.
Had this problem too and was very frustrated with it. But thanks - changing trigger size to BIG makes it work!
Thanks lots!

One UI 2.0

I got the Android 10 update today, and i'm not going to lie:
I'm kinda disappointed.
The few new features and some of the changes to the UI are not good enough to make me ignore some very annoying things.
First of all, i don't understand how the notifications are handled now.
For some reason the spotify playback notification is constantly hidden, no matter how i change the settings.
The recents menu also behaves weirdly, it feels very flimsy.
I'm not sure if this is a change, or something i configured before, but the clock being on the left of the notification bar is also very annoying.
same. Also, the swipe from home to recents to switch between apps does not work now...
Received the Update in India just an hr ago
Same as Android 10 , Minor changes. I don't think Samsung will be changing UI stuff, I just love OneUI as it is, it's my own opinion. It's true that some things have changed since Pie release but i think we will get used to it.
Are there any vids on what exactly has changed compared to previous beta's?

As for your clock you probably had good lock installed and had modified the clock position. Default is left side.
My sister have an s9 and updated to android 10 but not so special at all but accent themes in developer options down below aint work at all, any idea ?
I'm in the same boat as these poor folk, and I'm stock ROM...

Question How to get smaller display scaling (than stock)?

Sorry to come with such a seemingly stupid question, but I'm at a loss on how to fix my issue.
I recently switched from a OnePlus 6 to the S21U and find that everything on my S21U is way too big. I went into options and already changed the screen size and font size to the smallest options, but it's still larger than I like, and fewer items fit on my screen than I'm used to.
Google doesn't provide me any good results, since the results are polluted by the available options or camera zoom.
Is there a way to change display scaling even further, e.g. via a mod? My phone is rooted and I have installed Dr. Ketan's ROM which includes some version of Xposed.
