Can not update Profile. vDM Client has stopped. - Sprint HTC One (M7)

So I have my new red HTC One. I'm on CleanROM with HBoot 1.44.444 and Moonshine S-OFF. I can not update my profile or PRL on either 3G or Wifi. The phone did come with 1.31 firmware if that means anything. When I try to update it either doesn't or gives me the error vDM Client has stopped and then I can't try updating until a restart.
If it means anything, every time I power up the phone, Hands Free Activation comes up.

Have you tried letting HFA finish?

Yes I have, it simply crashes and stops. Giving the same error vDM Client has stopped

Did you freeze anything? Why don't you reflash the rom, with full wipe?
Sent from my lair.

I'm having the same problem - S-ON, Stock w/ Goodies. Driving me crazy. Can't update with 3g, 4g, or WiFi. Called sprint they had me reset using ##72786# but I ended up having to manually setting that up because it wouldn't automatically provision.

No 3G/1x at all!

I've been root for years now running cyanogen mod. I am currently running cyanogenmod 7, but I found out the problem I am having isn't rom specific. The problem is my data doesn't work at all. The only way I can connect to the internet is via Wifi. It just started happening early Sunday morning. I restored back to a stock rom (still root) and tried to do updates but all updates failed. The system update and PRL update failed and the htc software update failed.
I tried restoring by running an RUU but I get bootloader verification failed. I have no idea what to do and I can't access the internet on my phone. Calls and texts still work though. It says i'm connect to Sprint 1xRTT but that data is "turning on" and never gets past that.
try restoring a sense rom that allows manual prl updates and see if that helps

I actually did the Prl Update last night through the Fresh Rom and my service is basically the same as before... Sprint keeps telling me its a Tower issue that'll be Resolved Soon. But I've been hearing that now for about 2-3 Weeks!

Help! HTC Dev Edition all wonky (can't connect to google)

Got a HTC Dev edition on release. First thing I did was flash CWM recovery with fastboot and rooted.
Everything has been working great until yesterday. I went to test the wifi tether as I am out of town this weekend and need to tether my tablet and laptop to my phone. Ever since, however, I have been unable to access any google services from the phone via wifi or data network. Everything else connects and works fine and I can even tether and use the internet just fine. However the wifi tether options were all grayed out.
So I backed everything up and tried to flash the stock RUU downloaded from HTCdev. Fails with Error 155. I tried flashing stock recovery. RUU still gets error 155. So I did a factory reset from the bootloader and still I am unable to connect to google services. Since its factory fresh I have to add my account but when I try to do so I get the following error "couldn't sign in - Can't establish a reliable connection to the server. This could be a temporary problem or your Android device may not be provisioned for data services. If it continues, call Customer Care." But my data connection is working fine and I can use gmail from a web browser no problem.
I checked the hosts file and its fine (no hard coded ip for google stuff) and I am at a loss of what to do to fix this now. Since factory reset the wifi tether options are all there but my google servies still will not work.
Ok I locked the bootloader then ran the RUU again. Part way through it screwed up gave error 155 again and then all I had was a black screen with !points in triangles in the corner. Restarted the RUU and my phone. Went through the process again and then in completed sucessfully.
So now back into my phone and still I can not connect to google services. gives same "can't establish a reliable data connection to the server" error.
I am at a loss.
Similar Problem
I've got a similar problem.
I was attempting to root my phone, so I unlocked the bootloader and rooted it, with unlocked and tampered now showing up on the bootloader screen. However when i went to restore my settings by signing into google play and dropbox I get the same message, that I cannot connect to the severs. However this only exists in google apps and dropbox as facebook works fine as does the browser!
At a complete loss with this, any help would be much appreciated also!!!!
I've made a bit of progress. If I limit my phone to wcdma then I can get it to work periodically. But it will still give me no connection every now and then. If I play with mobile setting's sui that it disconnects and connects a few times it will start working again for a bit.
I'm starting to wonder if this is an google issue.

Trouble sending mms (solved)

Every time I try to send a mms on stock message app, I keep getting failure to send. I only get this error when I am on mobile network, but I go on wifi it works just fine. I am using 42one rom now but I was having this problem on stock rom as well. Wondering if anyone has any solution for this problem?
Did you try updating profile and prl?

I keep getting a failed to update on either one. I don't think 42one can get those update. I will flash my back up of my stock rom amd see if that does it.
Well I updated my profile and prl and didn't seem to help. Maybe it's the tower I'm using, since sprint is supposedly upgrading them in my area.
Update 1: installed handcent and sends them fine.
Update 2: I just updated the firmware with the new radio and seems to be fine now.

[Q] Voicemail issues

Hey guys, since switching to the 4.3 roms my voicemail has not been working. If I leave a vm from my work phone it never reaches my actual phone or shows up in VVM. Even when I try to dial 1 and connect to my vm normally, it says that is an incorrect number.
Is there something I need to do to re-associate my vm number to my phone?

If for some reason even dialing your voicemail manually doesn't work, it sounds like there is a provisioning issue on your device, so you could try something. First try updating you profile: go to settings, system updates -all the way at the bottom-, and tap on update profile. If that doesn't work, I assume the option activate device doesn't work either since its a custom rom. So if that doesnt work, then try flashing the stock RUU, and run activate device, this will force your device to re download all the provisioning data for your account. Let me know if either of those methods works.

When I try to update my prl it says "Unfortunately vDM Client has stopped." and the Activate is there but when doing it the message says "Sorry we experience a system problem during your task. Please dial *2 for psrint customer care."
The phone works in every other capacity fine.

What rom are you using? you could try flashing the stock rooted rom and then try doing that:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2467607
Look at the second post for the stock rooted deodexed rom. Flash that, it has no modifications other than being rooted and deodexed. When you flash it then try running activate device. Let me know what happens

The first one I flashed was Venom, but it had some stability issues so I have swapped to Stock w/ Goodies earlier today. I will try to flash the complete stock later today. Is this like the old issues on the LTE Evo with provisioning where we had to occasionally call Sprint to do it?
Honestly i have no idea. And i doubt it. I cant see why you would need to call sprint. See when you activste your device it downloads everything necessary for provisioning so unless your phone is doing something wacky i doubt activating the device will fail. So yeah just flash the full stock rom and reactivate. It should work.

This did end up having to be resolved by Sprint, called into their support and they had to remove, refresh, and reapply my voicemail. Took about 5 minutes and everything worked again and all of my voicemailes I had missed showed up as well.

For future reference you can also try this. If you send a blank voice mail to [email protected] through the VVM app it will usually fix the problem. Had to do this on a friends phone the other day.

Error after OTA - Unable to establish a wireless data connection. LTE: ESM-65535

Anyone now getting the following error:
Unable to establish a wireless data connection.
LTE: ESM-65535
If so how to correct? Got it a few times since taking the OTA. Never got it since owning the phone prior to the OTA.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
It's a fancy way of saying you had a data drop. I've noticed it a few times.

Figured that part out, but never got that error message before. Before it would just drop the connection and no error message (before the OTA update).

Can you update the profile and PRL under settings >system updates? If so try this. If you can not do this you are having the same error many of us had after the update. The only "fix" was to run the RUU which sets to phone back to STOCK (it wipes ALL DATA). Since doing that I have had data drop once and this was while on CDMA after taking a phone call.
Ran the RUU to get the OTA (had rooted previously), then rerooted after the OTA. Going to go back to completely stock in preparation for KitKat next month. Will let you know if I still get that error. Appreciate the advice!
I RUUd and ran the OTA and stayed unrooted - still have the problem. It's minor, but it's there.
