Use Toolkit http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2185700 and there in it that you Enable menu button recovery mode

From what I know of this main menu
choose 18 then write 'no' and you got "Enable 3 button combo"
Enable or download 3 buttons

Or just take it from here without the toolkit.

Hey guys,
Big thanks to @autoprime for mentioning this info on this in the general G4 forum. Figured I'd sum up the steps and repost in our sub-forum for anybody who may be struggling.
If you're like me, you're waiting on root and don't want to accidentally take that new OTA update that was pushed out about a week ago. This OTA has been found to prevent rolling back to previous versions of android, and may also block some/many of the root methods that the developers are preparing to release to us.
If System Update is constantly bugging you to update, follow the directions below:
1) Enable USB Debugging
-Go to About phone and tap on Build number 10 times to enable Dev Options
-Enter Developer Options and enable USB Debugging
2) Download and Install the Debloater tool (this happens on your computer)
-Windows http://rootjunkysdl.com/getdownload.php?file=Gates/DeBloater/Debloater-setup-v3.85.exe
-OSX http://rootjunkysdl.com/getdownload.php?file=Gates/DeBloater/Debloater.v.3.85.dmg
3) Connect your phone via USB. Make sure to install any drivers needed
4) Watch for pop up requesting ADB Access on your phone
5) Launch the Debloater tool
6) Select OK on the popup

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
7) Click the top left button
8) Find LGDMSClient.apk and put a checkmark next to it. Then select Apply at the top
Congratulations! You no longer have to worry about pocket-updating your G4 and not being able to root down the road!
I just ran this and it doesn't show LGDMSClient.apk.....weird
Hello,
I bought a used Motox 2014 with a broken screen on ebay and I was going to buy a new screen ...
My problem is that the screen will come to me in a month and in the meantime I want to use my phone, but I can not because I do not see anything...
Then I saw that there are programs like this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2786395
I tried this program but to work requires USB DEBUGGING active and I've got them off.
The autor of program says: "for people who dont have adb enabled, i suggest you contact a kernel developer to automatically enable it in the default.prop and sideload the kernel in recovery!
i broke my S3 on stock so nothing was enabled.
i enabled adb via the default.prop and compiled the kernel and flashed in recovery(sideload).
now i have full control over the device"
Now ... where I find a modded kernel with usb debugging enabled, and how do I flash it in recovery if not see anything ?
Someone has a modded kernel ? I can flash it from adb shell fastboot or Motorola RDS lite ?
My version is lollipop 5.0 or 5.1 and doing a screenshot (with power and vol down) I can only see the screen but no touch screen or keyboard can not do anything, and then I would connect to the PC with the program for remote viewing..

please help me thanks. (sorry for bad english i'm italian)
any suggestion ?..
USB OTG + Mouse...
No, this is too easy but don't work form me...i need to view my phone from PC , and for to do this i need to install a custom kernel...how i can flash it ?
So recently I did a stupid and accidentally switched off my OPO during an update installation and completely screwed it all up. I tried switching it back on only to find that it was stuck in a recovery mode loop. I then hit factory reset in a last ditch attempt to save the poor bugger without flashing it and even that didn't work.
I've then had to resort to flashing it using the OPO toolkit software on my PC however when connecting to the PC, my OPO only shows up as an MTP USB Device and nothing else. I have tried installing recommended Samsung drivers for the phone but I wasn't able to as it the "update drivers" button was greyed out on the MTP USB Device properties window.

}
Basically, the OPO toolkit will not work as no android devices are recognised by the PC even though an android device is showing up in the control panel.
There is no way I can currently access the settings on my phone due to recovery mode loop obviously.
The last thing I want to do here is end up with being forced to use the OnePlus support which I hope most of you understand why.
Thanks for any suggestions!
Hi,
This thread is being moved to your own dedicated forum , where the experts may be able to help you better.
Good luck!
Put it in downloading mode and then use adb to use the toolkit since bow u don't have a os on the OPO happened with me too but I fixed it this way

Hi everyone,
Seeking for idea(s) from a genius group.
I got a Nexus 6 with a broken screen ( really bad can't see anything , just black), want to get the data(photos) out of the phone.
the system debugging mode is not enabled, it's running on android 6.0.
here is what i have tried:
plug the phone into PC via USB, PC does not recognize any device, hold on power button and volume down for few seconds, the PC recognize the following: (fastboot shamu S)

not sure what can be done at this point.
also bought a used Nexus 6 in good working condition, swap screen did not work, the screen did not light up. ( some says the screen is locked to the motherboard, not sure about this).
googled some info, the last way would be remove the 32Gb NAND flash from the motherboard by un-soldering , and install to another motherboard, this may require some special tools and don't think it's a home DIY project.
Any shared idea(s) would be really appreciated.
Thanks.

The system debugging mode is not enable, will try to run the ADB. Thanks.
Hi there,
I have just purchased a Zenfone 8, the bootloader is unlocked (I have the ugly message saying that the phone can"'t be trusted because bootloader is unlocked bla bla bla at startup).
However, while adb works, I can't get fastboot to recognize my device.
I tried on W10 and 11, also on Linux Mint.
Other phones are recognized properly by fastboot, but not the zenfone 8. And of course, fastbootd doesn't work.
Anyone faced this issue?
Thanks,
Anghi

I can get into fastboot mode. Using combo key or even "adb reboot bootloader". But on this screen, then fastboot does not recognize the device
And I have tried both bootloader (in principle fastboot) and fastbootd (the one within the recovery) screens. Fastboot commands don't work under both screens.
I think to get fastboot working I had to install the Asus specific driver on my pc
Ok thanks. Let me try.
Okay, solved by trying several USB C wires.
Thanks for the advices and help!
