HTC DESIRE C
I have relocked my bootloader, but I wish to flash my ROM to stock. However, my bootloader reads:
*** RELOCKED ***
*** Security Warning ***
GOLFU PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.31.0000
RADIO-1.10.98.15
eMMc-boot
Now I have three questions:
1. How do I S-Off my device, and what effect will this have?
2. How do I flash my device? I do not have CWM Recovery installed and on connecting it to the PC the PC does not recognise the device (it does not show).
3. Is my device "bricked"? And if so, will HTC be able to undo this?
Unlock Bootloader through HTC Desire C All-In-One Toolkit V2.0
then flash the rom you want to(stock) and at last if u wish relock bootlooader
Thanks

try htcdev
the best way is the htcdev to unlock bootloader, it's a litle bit harder than the toolkit, for the first time i unlocked it through htcdev.com and that way i understood a lot more things (how it works), but anyway is all your choice, (sorry about my english) the best luck :good:

Try Nik's new rom, I'm downloading now, According to nik post and users experience, this rom works on any hboot with any condition
Sent from my Incredible S using Tapatalk 2
somehow, the code will look into your device root folder /data/local/tmp/ and trying to create new folder and copy the hb file into it and flash it through the bootloader. the reason why the .exe is fail due to the blackrose can't access to the folder to paste the file and you see the cmd stuck and force exits.
i get mine done by:
1. 4ext touch recovery
2. IceColdSandwich 7.2.0 FAREWELL edition
make sure you get this done before you use the blackrose:
1. android SDK + platform tools and htc sync (drivers only) installed on your computer
2. your phone needs to be switched on normally.
3. connected via USB and in charge only mode with usb debugging switched on
if still not working, flash other rom and try again.
hope the developer will solve this problem for everyone.

hey xda. I have an HTC Incredible S. I've messed too much with bootloader. because I want to downgrade from hboot 2.00 all is well good but now. but when I villle be back to s-on and all stock everything went wrong. it is hboot 2.02.0002. I have come to update too much and now mainware too high. it will not load the system even though I use CMD / fastboot. it just goes on about htc logo. if I try to flash the HTC ROM. then reboots and goes into recovery mode.jeg can not do anything. there is no system on it. so too do the bootloader. excuse my English. is not so good. really hope someone can help.

Do you have a custom Rom or recovery installed? Do you have locked/unlocked/relocked/security warning in bootloader? What version ruu did you install and did you see any error message?

why is the term 'brick' used commonly.
wen your phone gets bricked, it's called so cos that's all its good for!
it wont start, boot, vibrate, flash lights, sing songs, nothing!
that's the stage wen the phone is good to throw against the wall

On the HTC DEV site, does it say to update the HBOOT?
I had helped one of my friends, HTC Desire HD though, and the site mandated updating the HBOOT before proceeding

U need to first unlock the bootloader. Flash CWM (or 4ext or TWRP whicever u want), flash superuser 3.1.3, then test it using adb.exe shell, su. And you should get #. Then run Nonverbose's scriptfound here. If the script doesnt seem to work, then u can find alternative instructions on page 4 on how to do it manually in adb. Run the RUU found in here (select whichever applicable). If you do that without error, then run Revolutionary (and Blackrose if youd like). Ive made a guide and Its in my signature.

Run the script in here. If everything runs successfully, run the RUU. If you still get error 173, relock the bootloader and run the RUU again. MAKE SURE THE SCRIPT RAN WITHOUT ERROR. THIS IS ESSENTIAL OTHERWISE THE RUU WONT WORK.

This is how cmd looks like on my PC

I had the same issue. You get the security warning because you relocked your bootloader when being on custom rom.
Unlocking it again with HTC development will work, but I think it's your adb drivers that are messing up. Try a different use port (2.0) or an other computer.
Your phone is not bricked.
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
Did you removed the red warning modding the hboot???
If you did (before relocking) and then locked the device, it's probably briked. If not, then make sure to have the latest drivers and try in another computer.
See if you can update the firmware which might help you out.

As with many people on here I am having problems with 8.1 & HTC one fasboot for the usb 2.
I want to put on the 1.55 hboot to hopefully cure my problems but I am not sure how to go about it?
Do I need to relock my bootloader or not?
What else do I need to do?

The safest way is to flash a supported RUU for your phone, while s-on. If there are no RUUs, then you can go s-off and flash any RUU you want. Otherwise, you can search for HBOOTs or firmwares. Be very careful while flashing and never go back s-on while on a custom firmware/hboot.

What CID are you? Do you have a nandroid? If yes, then restore the nandroid, and try getting s-off on a windows 7/8 machine with USB 2.0 ports and adb/fastboot drivers already installed, and htc sync removed. You need to be bootloader unlocked, so locking your bootloader was a step backwards.
Do this
1. On a windows 7/8(not 8.1) machine, install htc sync (the latest available) and reboot, then uninstall htc sync, but leave htc driver installer as it is. Then connect your phone (usb 2.0 port) while usb debugging is enabled, let it install the driver. Then reboot to bootloader, make sure it shows fastboot USB, and let it install the driver.
2. Unlock your bootloader, flash a custom recovery
3. Restore your nandroid/search for a guru reset rom here www.htc1guru.com
4. Go to rumrunner.us and follow all the instructions there.
Done
Ps, if I helped you, press the thanks button
