My galaxy s got bootloop and cwm recovery not work properly and usb not work also then what i do ?? Help me
thanks in advance
sorry for my bad english
Dude, don't sweat it. Just buy a USB jig off of eBay for the paltry sum of 99 cents. Plug the JIG in and run Odin on your PC. Hit the flash button and wait for a minute or two.
It's that simple.

It's all right!
Try going into download mode and connect it to the PC. Flash a recovery first then a ROM...It'll definitely turn on...!!!!

OK, But why not get a refund from the repair shop for failing to solve your problem first, at the same time, I cannot imagine how power button will fail, when your phone is bootlooping for to switch ON, you must press power and to shut down you must pull out battery as you phone is in bootloop..
similarly, you must know the correct combination to get into recovery and download mode, this will depend on phone model, not where you bought your phone.
for instance I bought my phone thinking its an i9000 in the Philippines but it was not i9000 but SHW M110S meant for Korea, so I got fooled.
so, you must know exactly what phone you have and what ROM and solution to use.

So a friend wants me to root his phone for him and put a custom rom on it. Its the galaxy I9000. I assume from reading posts that I use super one click to root, then rom manager to flash I9000 recovery and I will then have root/custom recovery? When I rooted my Infuse there were a lot of extra steps like having a modded recovery file in order to flash in rom manager. Is this phone just must easier or am I off on some steps?

If im not mistaken then Super 1 click only works on Froyo and not with gingerbread but if your friends on froyo then that should work. If you can get into download mode then you could flash an odin stock rom like this one http://www.theandroidsoul.com/xxjvu/ then root with this http://www.theandroidsoul.com/root-xxjvu-firmware/ which adds root and clockworkmod then from there you can flash any rom you want. Or even just flash a CF-root which is compatable with whichever rom the phone is on
A friend of mine wants me to slap you.
It's easy to root the SGS, all you need is a rooted kernel for the version of Android you are using.
That being said, it is also easy to brick the phone if you are not familiar with proper flashing procedures for the Galaxy S.
There are a couple of good threads on how to flash the SGS, I advise you to read them.

Samsung kies not going to upgrade due to so many reason. My fren g.note also faced the same prob before. He failed to upgrade thru kies as well. But after 2days tried, kies suddenly appear ugrade available. My another fren using s3 also same, mrn his phone detected update about 93mb available while at office, but he decide update thru kies at home. But nothing happened and kies appeared no update at all.Even he use ota thru his s3 also no more update available. But surprisingly he did manage update his s3 thru kies at second day. Weird right?..ha..
For 2.3.6 custom firmware litening rom will be my best choice.
For ics 4.0.4 custom rom, classic rom will be my choice.

Hi, I'm a user of Xperia Neo V and now my friend wants me to upgrade his SGS to either ICS or JB.
Since this is my first time flashing SGS, so there are 2 questions that I want to ask :
1) Is there a kernel included inside a custom ROM?
2) Is the kernel needs to flash separately like Xperia phones? Or the kernel will flash through CWM with ROM?
3) Is the kernel or ROM requires specific version of ODIN to flash?
Thanks in advance and sorry for bad English

1.) Yup, the roms all come with kernels
2.) The kernel will flash with the rom in recovery, and if you want to change kernel you only need to flash it in through recovery
3.) With ICS and JB, all of the roms and most of the kernels are made to be flashed through CWM/TWRP/Devil etc etc, so you won't need Odin

Android 4.4.3 and Greenify
I have the latest CM11-20140607-nightly for my Galaxy S i9000. After reading about the Greenify app, is it worth installing as most of it's features seem to be built into the ROM?
I am very impressed by the quality of all the CM ROMs I have downloaded and have had only a few problems.
Hello,
My device is Galaxy S (M110s). I tried to install KK rom with M110s Kitkat patch tool. But some roms are not working. When i installed Slimkat rom i failed to receive calls. It not even showing any incoming call notification screen but is shows missed call notification after i missed to receive call. Please help me :crying:
i9001 phone keep rebooting
Hello All,
I am very afraid I have Samung Galaxy I9001 I have installed Custom Rom Cynogenmod 10 but today i want to go back to 2.3.6 gingerbread.
I installed odin and added aries.ops and used I9001XXKQG_I9001XXKPL_I9001NEELE1_HOME.tar.md5 file
It passed but my phone keep rebooting it shows samsung galaxy i9001 and again go for a reboot Please help me as soon as possible.
Regards,
Amit Goyal
I've got this phone that I sold to a person, but he couldn't get the camera working and the gallery. Only the contacts and calling worked but before I sold it to him everything worked perfectly fine, now the thing is he says that he got some kind of message and just pressed some buttons.
And now this phone has this issue that the internal SD isn't working or won't see it.
I told him to give the phone to me and I would try and fix it by just wiping it in CWM 6.0.3.2 it was running on Cyanogenmod 10.1 nightly, but now I got this error that it won't install any of the roms anymore of Cyanogen, it gives me this error report :

It will just boot to CWM now as I wiped the entire thing so no rom is on it anymore.
Any ideas?
EDIT: Issue has been resolved thanks to xsenman
I have several ideas:
Firstly, you should try mount the phone to PC through 'mounts and storage' option, copy new ROMs and Kernels. You can then try installing different kernel (Semaphore, CyanCore) for JB4.2, reboot to recovery, full wipe and install ROM. If you still get same error, try it with external SD.
If that method won't work, you can try using Odin (but be careful!) - install 3-file JVZ ROM with repartition
Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1102881
hotfile. com/dl/136940891/b232b26/I9000XWJVZ_I9000OXAJVT_OXA.rar.html
then JVZ kernel
Code:
www.semaphore. gr/kernels/Semaphore_kernel_JVZ_2.1.1.tar
- and now you should be able to install custom ROMs again.
PS. Remember to take EFS backup if you didn't before.

I'll report back if this method worked.
Solution:- Most likely you have a incompatible CWM, or your Zip files are corrupted or you have mounted /system or /data

That's what My Android Solutions say about error "Status 0" in point 26.
For me wiping everything and installing stock rom + kernel with working CWM did a trick when I had similar problems.

There are 20 versions of Galaxy S, and their ROMS may not be compatible with each other, so make sure you know which model and which ROM should be used. CWM version 6.0.32 is much advanced version for Gingerbread ROM and used in S3 and S4 models, most likely the reason for your problem

I followed it and now I'm at the point where CWM is no more on the phone, my only last resort is Download mode now. I need the files in order to continue further though, but I have no idea which files I would need for Odin?

what is your phone model?, mostly CWM is flashed by Odin3 as they come together with the kernel in .tar format, which also can be done by Mobile Odin or flashify or Flash Gordon apps ( download fro Google Playstore) , so Yes, it can flashed with those apps directly from your phone without PC or usb cable

just flash the kernel, it will give you root plus CWM, than follow the basic guide in the link I gave above and flash ICS first , let it boot before following guide to flash the Jelly Bean. Most of all make efs backup as well as nandroid backup, so that you can restore your ROM, when things are not what you expected.
Meaning read and follow the guide step by step to the dot

From the beginning , you wanted to flash without the aid of PC and USB cable, your first post
so, you should download, 1) Mobile Odin, 2) semaphore Gingerbread kernel & Framaroot app ( if mobile Odin needs root in order to install)
hence download Mobile Odin from Google and follow Method B ( as mentioned in guide) and flash the semaphore Gingerbread kernel to get CWM .
you do not need to enter recovery, when using mobile Odin, unless you already have USB cable and want to use PC, than follow method A and once have CWM, use the CWM recovery to flash as mentioned in the Basic CWM flashing guide
So what method, you want to follow? since you already have a gingerbread on your i9000, either use Mobile Odin or Odin3?

so ok, just follow the instruction on Mobile Odin, and you should be able to flash directly from your phone, and you should also download the ROM''s and Gapps files that you want to use and place them in your internal SD card first with the semaphore kernel too to flash.

yes, you will have CWM, you can now enter CWM recovery and make a nandroid backup of your gingerbread ROM, as well as backup your efs folder as well as do the wipes, after that flash ROM and Gapps using Mobile Odin. or CWM
If something went wrong in future you can restore the gingerbread backup you have made.

Better to flash ICS first and let your phone boot into ICS first than you can flash Jelly Bean, or you can get IMEI problems by jumping from gingerbread to Jelly Bean, its not a difficult process, so climb up the ladder step by step, jumping can cause problems
read the guide as ICS ROM's may need to be flashed twice and you can skip flashing Gapps in ICS but flash in Jelly Bean for Google application .
