Ok so i've had a number of issues with my Atrix HD but i refuse to get a new phone. About 2 months ago the lcd (not the outer glass) broke and while replacing it i may have damaged the battery (slightly). My phone wouldnt turn on for about 2 weeks and one day , POOF, it turns on. All was good for a month till i dropped it and it just turned off. 2 weeks later we're here and after mass looping and rebooting i get it to turn on only to find out it turns off when i take it off the charger. Can someone please help me fix this? is there hope for my phone? or should i try getting a new battery and replacing it with my current one?
THANK YOU!
Open up the phone and check the battery connections. By dropping your atrix that could easily shake something up or break a connection somewhere. Just check all the connections in the phone. YouTube can show you how to open up your atrix, there is also a screen replacement guide in atrix HD general that'll show you how to open the phone correctly.

Even though she doesn't remember, I'm pretty sure my wife dropped her nexus one. Now i gotta fix it.
PROBLEM:
1. Camera doesnt work now. It force closes or just shows black screen forever. The camera flash doesn't work either.
2. After hanging up a call, the screen goes black.
3. Extremely weak WIFI reception.
4. Burning through a serious amount of battery power and the antenna gets really hot.
STEPS TAKEN SO FAR:
1. Thought it might be software related so I installed CM7 and the battery issue got better but thats it.
2. Cracked the phone open and checked to make sure nothing got jarred loose during an earthly impact. The camera unit was a bit cocked but it still didn't fix it. Everything else seemed fine.
ALL OUT OF OPTIONS. ANY IDEAS WELCOME. At this point I am prepared to start swapping parts. Any recommendations?

Had the same issue. Send it in to htc, they will fix it for you. PS: Don't worry about the bootloader.
Well thats the other problem. I cant ship the phone because it has a lithium battery in it. I know, sounds wierd. Its a long story but basically I have to attempt a repair myself hence why I'm looking for suggestions.

I got my son a 32GB nexus 7 for Christmas but it didn't turn out very well. Right out of the box it wouldn't turn on. No big deal I thought, i'll just plug in the charger and let it charge for a while. 2 hours later I try to power it up again. No luck. nothing happening at all. So now its 1:30 AM on christmas morning and i'm still messing with this thing. Hold power for 30 seconds, nothing. Hold power and Volume + to get into recovery, nothing. So back on the charger it goes. 7am. Still dead, nothing happening. Back on the charger. Kid's not happy that his new tech toy isn't working. So around 10 AM I'm standing there talking to my wife while holding the power button down for what seemed like 2 minutes and I look down and see the Nexus "X".... Holy cow, its alive. So we let it start up and dive right into setup. It rebooted 2 times while trying to setup. Third time we make it all the way through and get started downloading some apps. All updates applied up to 4.2 and I thought we were in the clear. So off my kid goes playing angry birds and Navy fighter happy as can be.... Yep, crashed again and was not able to power it back up again. So its in the box headed back to buydig.com I guess this one was a real lemon.
Did some looking around and couldn't find much that relates to my problem. It seems it was just my turn to get the lemon.

I feel bad for your son. That really sucks... Pretty awesome dad to get him the big 7 and not the cheaper one lol

You could take the back cover off and see if the battery connector is connected properly.

How is this accomplished without damage so I can send it back with no issues?
Edit- Nevermind, found the iFixit video.

If you have to call support to send it back, DO NOT tell them you opened it to check the batt connector as they insist this will void your warranty. Just a heads-up.
just do not tell them you did anything to it. they should give you a rull replacement
i also got a nexus 7 from parents for christmas and am loving it, hopefully he understands it is just a mistake and this is still a high quality product
I had multiple Nexus 7's and so far not one has had any issues.

Original returned to buy dig.com. got a 32gb from staples and all is well. Never opened the case on the first N7 so I can't tell you what was wrong. After playing with the new one though, the original had screen issues. No charge animation when plugged in.
Hey all. Niece has a Droid 4 that recently came into a problem. Okay, a couple of problems.
Yesterday morning she had a problem using the power button to light up the screen to shut off her email notification, but she eventually got it to work after several attempts. The battery died a couple of hours later.
Now the battery appears completely dead, even after leaving it on the charger for over an hour. No lights, no action at all.
She would like to replace it, but has no warranty (long story on that).
Knowing that, here's the questions:
1) Doesn't a new phone usually have a warranty without having to buy the providers "insurance"?
2) If she's SOL on replacing it, is there any way to bring it back to life?
She's able to upgrade in March anyway, so she doesn't have long to wait. I'm letting her use my backup phone (UTStarcomm XV6800) in the meantime. I know, I'm mean.
Motorola usually carries at least 1 year warranty on all their devices eg... I bought a broken ATRIX 2 off eBay sent it in they couldn't fix it so sent me a ATRIX hd free of charge and sold it as new ... call moto and talk to them only down fall is no phone for 7 business days... is it a real Motorola charger specs being output of 5.1v 850mA ... any response when you... while on moto charger pressing simultaneously pressing both volume down and power for 15 sec... let us know

Hey sorry about not responding, I didn't see anything on this until now.
Charger is the stock one that came with the phone.
Didn't know about the volume down + power button. I'll contact her, and if she still has the phone I'll check it out. If it works, I have a new phone!
Thank you again for the response.

To preface this, the phone is completely stock and unlocked. I've been using the phone now for about 3 weeks with absolutely zero problems. I plug it in to charge over night, wake up the next morning and it's completely unresponsive.
Won't turn on.
No LED notification light (Green or Amber)
Isn't recognised by my laptop as a disc drive either.
Any ideas, tips or suggestions as to how I can get it working again, short of calling the supplier and getting a replacement?
Thank guys.

It might do but I have no idea how to do it.
Mine just did the same thing today, it discharged very quickly this morning and now it won't even charge at all. Not sure what to do....
My god. This has also happened to me. A few others have also had this problem. Contact HTC and file for a repair/replacement. I did today. Seriously sucks because its a solid phone otherwise.

This is a worrying trend.. So there are no other alternatives just request a repair/replacement?
It really is. I've already contacted my brother, whom is pretty high up in att, about the matter. I'd consider myself a veteran of android and I have had no progress on the fix, it seems only to be hardware. In layman terms, yes you'll have to get it replaced.

How long would the repair take? And would they send you a replacement first, because now I have no phone.....
Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk HD
I'd say about 2 weeks at most. But no, they'll repair or replace the phone depending on the issue. Likely replace.

I have the T-Mobile version would I be able to go into a store and request a replacement ?
Only asking because I have never had an issue like this with any of my phones.

drop ship
When speaking to the HTC rep., try tossing around the phrase "can you drop ship a replacement phone?" Ask for a manager if its existence is denied. Once you find someone with enough power to "drop ship" the replacement phone, they'll take your credit card, then immediately send you the replacement phone and a box to ship back the defective phone. If you don't return the bad device, they'll charge your card.
happened to me twice - try holding power button for like 1min - it should turn on then
I opened a thread about this problem, but seems only some people have this defect.
I've had this problem too, it's currently with HTC (UK) to repair or replace. It arrived on Tuesday, still awaiting to hear back.
If I hold down the power button it turns on....it happens when u charge and turn it on while stll plugged into the charger...happened to all 3 of my ones..this is a software thing nothing wrong with phone imo just don't turn phone on after full charge while plugged in

It seems that my phone isn't dead after all. Holding the power button down does seem to work... It's a strange bug..
I don't get why people turn the phone OFF in the first place? I never turn my phone OFF at all. I sometimes restart the phone but that is it.
Why on earth did this moderator '' ghost '' think my thread about my phone falling down the toilet and me asking for assistance was '' off topic '' and was subsequently closed, seriously mate your well out of order closing that thread it's as relevant as any thread, I only hope something like this nightmare never happens to you!!!
Anyway again I'll start what is a very relevant thread, long story I dropped my One in the toilet managed to scoop it out straight away and it continued to work, woke the following morning and phone was dead but after charging it booted up but wouldn't recognise my SIM card so tried another SIM and won't accept that either.
Came home to find the phone dead it was on 78% battery last night after charging it, screen is washed out too as you'd imagine , so charged it and it has rebooted several times since but booted up eventually, but will not recognise any SIM I put in.
I recall reading a thread on here before saying if you put the phone in a bag of rice that sometimes works so will be doing that I do have insurance but if at all possible I'm hoping to rescue this phone.
I'm asking for any assistance from anyone who was unfortunate enough to be in the same situation.
DO NOT LOCK THIS THREAD it's as relevant as anything posted on here.
Thank you.

Hello, I have htc one which doesn't recognize sim cards, but not because of water damage:laugh:
To fix/change it, you should disassemble almost everything - it's under screen.
here is more info
Thanks mate but I'm no good when it comes to this type of thing, software I'm OK with but not the hardware side of things.

Me too. I'm afraid of teardown.
What will you do?
I've no idea mate, the phone now bizarrely won't turn off, I've left it in a bag of rice so will check tomorrow night and see if that done any good.
I put in a claim on my insurance as and its been accepted but have to pay an outrageous €95 excess which I could really do without, using my Moto G as a spare but badly miss my One.
If anyone has any suggestions feel free to post.

to be completely honest if your phone was usable when you scooped it out of the toilet, you should have IMMEDIATELY turned it off. and stuck it in a bag of rice for like a week. the reason your phone went all wonky after is probably because there was some left over water inside the phone and as you were using it, it probably moved around and shorted something.
I was in the pub at the time and very drunk.
It's not looking good at all though, Left in a bag of rice overnight and now the power button won't work, have to keep plugging in USB cable to wake the phone while I bluetooth my photos and videos, etc to my Moto G.
Gonnab just wipe the phone completely after I've taken all I need to take off it and give it to the courier who will deliver my new HTC One after I pay the excess next week (they said I have to return this phone, no idea what they'll do with it)
So thanks anyway but I'm just gonna sell the new one sealed and unlocked and use my Moto G until new HTC M8 is released.
