You can't if you still have s-on, you can only flash signed firmware
it*s makeable to sign the touchscreen firmware or the stock ruu 1.29 to sign and can i downgrade then?

I think I briked my phone, I cant go to bootloader after changing my mid using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2322820, can you help me please?
First , I hope you are under S-OFF..
If NO - it's a brick!
If yes
When you at "gray screen" on your PC(in device manager) something is displayed like "QUALCOMM HS..."?
if yes type
fastboot oem writecid HTC__001
fastboot oem writemid PN0710000
extract from custom 2.17.401.1 Mike's firmware (thank to Mike1986 for it) the file hboot_signedbyaa.img
from here (second post) http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2182823
and then type
fastboot flash hboot hboot_signedbyaa.img
after you executed last command you will have working hboot!
and then it is desirable to flash firmware
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip mike2_17_401_1_customfirmware.zip
So i want to flash new firmware 3.09.401.1.Here is my problem.I am s-off Hboot 1.44, CID HTC__032,I have viper one rom.I can not flas this FW.Here is log:
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
sending zip
okay
FAILED remote:not allowed
finished
where is the problem?
Thx
Should be flashed in ruu mode
step 1) fastboot oem rebootRUU
Step 2) fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
Then will need to repeat step 2
Then fastboot reboot-bootloader
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
so this is possible only on RUU rom...right?

RUU mode, not "RUU ROM". RUU stands for ROM Update Utility.
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
solved bootloader-then write fastboot oem rebootRUU....thx for your answer
Hello,
Im planning on rooting my htc one m7 with the revolution rom. when updates come out i would also have to update to the latest firmware. I hear you have to do alot to flash the firmware and its not easy as just flashing it through the custom recovery correct?
My question is, what is the process on updating the firmware? Also what does fuu,ruu mean and does it make a difference?
Thanks.

with firmware.zip in your adb/fastboot folder:
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
fastboot reboot
with s-on you can only flash signed firmware of same or higher version with a locked or re-locked bootloader.
always make sure you flash the correct firmware for your phone.

use the guru bootloader tool to set back the bootloader to locked and then pack your stock recovery image in a firmware.zip file with an android-info.txt file that match your phone info. flash the firmware.zip in ruu mode.

The only way you can flash the recovery partition with a locked or relocked bootloader is by using a firmware.zip file in RUU mode
so like I said, pack your recovery.img and your android-info.txt file in a firmware.zip and flash it in RUU mode (require s-off)
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash firmware.zip
fastboot flash firmware.zip
fastboot reboot-bootloader

Being your s-off you don't need to lock the bootloader to flash a RUU. Find the decrypted RUU and flash it from fastboot oem rebootRUU. it should flash no problems

yeah you can run the RUU and while it's open search your windows temp for rom.zip and copy it to your desktop.
quit the RUU then flash the rom.zip
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip rom.zip
fastboot flash zip rom.zip << two times the first just flashes hboot
fastboot reboot-bootloader

you might want to use the 3.22.1540.9 decrypted ruu.zip, it works flawlessly, unlike the 4.19.1540.9 RUU. You'll then have to install 6 ota updates from 3.22.1540.9 to 6.07.1540.1.
download and save it to your adb/fastboot folder, rename it "ruu" (ruu.zip)
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip ruu.zip
fastboot flash zip ruu.zip
fastboot reboot

you should get the updates directly from the phone: Settings ---> About ---> Software updates.
you can also flash each ota manually if needed, they are all available in the Dev edition updates thread in the general section.
