Device: GT-I9305
system: LS JB 4.2.2
Baseband: I9305XXBLL5
Screen Stucked in "turning on wifi" when i slide to turn on my wifi.
This happens with my stock ROM, did a factory reset and did not solve the problem.
Decided to root and install custom ROM. The problem still persists.
Searched the web, got information on replacing WIFI files in /etc, did it and it did not work.
Tried sending in my phone to Samsung Service Centre in Bangkok (with stock rom), and the staff told me that they can try to fix it but not 100% sure to be able to resolve the problem. Thus bringing my phone back home again.
searched the web again and read something about EFS files.
there are no files in the WIFI folder in /efs in my situation.
IMEI and everything else is normal except the WIFI folder.
i will like to seek advise on how can i resolve my WIFI issue as i am really lost and not knowing what to do next.

I got a hold of my friends galaxy tab by sprint and he had asked if i can fix it. The problem that he is having is that when you turn the tab on it gets stuck in the "Samsung" screen where it flashes but never fully boots up. Now typically if this occurred on my galaxy s phone i would just simply odin back to stock problem solved. However im not too sure the same applies for a galaxy tab. Can someone please help me out with this and let me know what steps need to be taken.
He did mentioned that before this problem occurred all he did was leave it charging over night and then unplugged it and tried to power it on and thats where he encountered this odd problem.
did he modify it at all?
maybe the kernel got hosed some weird way on the way it got charged, maybe overcharged and crapped out... you could try to reload a kernel...
when this happend with me, I had rooted it and applied cmw 3.0.0 without a kernel to support the ext partition. Try powering it off and holding down the vol button while powering it on. Does it go into download mode. If so get himdell from github (it acts similar to odin) once the drivers are loaded, install the libusb drivers for himdell in the galaxy tab drivers. there should be instructions in the text doc on what to do.
you can use himdell_frontend to flash a new kerenl.
Go to.. Galaxy Tab General

when using himdell, is there a file(s) that will restore back to stock ?

As others have pointed out, this thread belongs in Q&A or Gen, however, having said that:
There's a discussion on flashing back to stock on a Sprint Tab here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=969892&highlight=sprint+stock+firmware
That thread points to another that yields the file, but the discussion in the one I linked looked to be worth reading.
I can't comment personally, as I am running a VZW Tab.
Good luck.
I've been having massive battery problems with my SGT (yes, I've read through all the posts, I've tried Battery Calibration, etc etc.) I'm still under warranty (tab is about 7 months old), and I'm running WJJ7 firmware (Euro, GSM, unlocked).
I'm not really willing to open up and disconnect the battery, as this will void my warranty, so I'd rather have the service center do that. I've gone ahead an wiped the phone, unrooted it (after making rotohammer + Titanium backups), and am just about ready to send it in for repair.
I'm wondering if I should try out a different ROM, either a custom one or an Official Samsung GB ROM -- its not clear from the threads whether or not, if I do an official GB update, whether or not I will end up with a locked bootloader, which is something I dont want. Alternatively, I could try the Overcome ROM, but then if I have to send it in anyway (I really suspect the battery is hosed -- goes from 90% to 1%, and after 2 hours of off is up again at 40%) I have the PITA of attempting to reflash to stock (something I haven't done on this phone, but on others).....
Any advice would be helpful.....

First: Sorry about that; totally my fault for directing this to the General and not the Q&A section
Second: You must be mistaking me for somebody else -- If you search the entire Galaxy Tab section, you will find exactly 2 posts by me -- this as a new thread, and another as a followup several weeks ago to something else (only vaguely related).
Yesterday I installed cm9 everything worked well. Today I woke up with no phone signal. I did backup.. I reinstalled cm9 but the problem persists.. auto reboots and no signal. I tried other kernels ROMs and modems but nothing.
Hey
Hav u tried to toggle airplane mode??
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
I changed the modem again and I see networks but can not connect to them and I realized that the phone do not see the sim card.
Same problem for Galaxy S

Im having the exact same problem... phone continually restarts especially after going to "sleep mode". No network access and google play not working.
The installed ROM's were:
-cm-9.1.0-galaxysmtd
-gapps-jb-20120726-signed
I also tried reinstalling these two, but had the same problems.
Has anyone found the solution to this problem?

So, No I have installed 2 more... and both have the same problem, is it my phone? Do I need to format the partitions better? What I have done is:
-Wiped data/factory reset
-Wiped cache partition
-Reset permission
Installed:
-cm-9.1.0-galaxysmtd
-cm-9-20120826-NIGHTLY-galaxysmtd
-cm-7.2.0-galaxysmtd
As well as tried installing the cm-7.2.0-galaxysmtd mentioned above, not in all installations though.
I am located in Iceland... dont think that should play a part in it but perhaps I need to change some settings to find the networks?
Hope someone can help me with this... really is too bad not to have my "good phone" any more

Hi and thank you for your answer!
I just discovered that my IMEI number is gone as well as my baseband is unknown...
I was about to attempt to install:
I9000XXJVU_I9000OXAJVU_OXA
Via odin... thinking that this will correct my problems... but perhaps you have a better idea?

Lucky me! I found a backup of my efs folder... what crazy luck! Im guessing that ClockworkMod Recovery auto backed up the efs folder.
But it was just like you said, the "My Android Solutions" pointed me to this thread which listed more than I expected of my problems.
Currently, my efs folder looks empty, but I think its just unmounted. How would I go about restoring the backup efs folder that I have? In "my android solutions", they suggest copy/paste via Root Explorer, followed by reboot and wipe cache, which I did without luck. The efs dir is still empty and probably because it is read only. There must be a simple solution to this since the backup must have been thought for a reason Do you know how I would copy/paste or restore this efs directory?
I figure its best to create a new thread about this, since this one is very old. For those that want to follow that thread, its right here.
Thanks again for your help
Hi all, I flashed a stock rom, namely Flix123's V1.1 of V20S Gingerbread Update. However, the despite following the instructions in the thread, and looking through the posts, I could not find an answer to my problem.
The problem I encountered was:
1. Home button not functioning
2. No lockscreen
I've looked through other threads pertaining to this problem, but none of their solutions worked. Although I can just use another stock rom, I'd like to know the cause of the problem.
Please do advise or redirect me if there is a problem with this thread (I originally wanted to post a reply in his thread but I do not have permissions to do so at the moment).
You need to complete the configuration wizard that shows up at the first boot, don't press "exit".

EDIT: Turns out that play button does not open a video...I must have mixed that up with another phone. Thanks for your advice, TrymHansen!
Hello everyone. I have a problem with my phone. I bought a second-hand phone with this in mind that I can somehow go back to life, but it turns out it is not that easy. I will describe what I did to be easier to help me.
When I got it there was on 4.1.2 software but there was a problem with constant restarts/resets (like constant loop) and the phone showed NO SEVICE and IMEI showing null / null
I read on the forum downgrade to firmware 4.1.1 can help. So I did, and I changed the kernel first to Persus with that in mind, something that would help me and after that to Siyah-v1.9.1-s3. After tht phone no longer starts. Shows only what is in the pictures. I hope you will help me and step by step guide me what i did wrong.
Because I'm new on the forum cant paste outside links so - when I turn on the phone, there is a red exclamation on tol left corner and Samsung Galaxy s3 i9305 inscription on the screen.
Second picture shows the (probably) logo of kernel? this is new for me so dont know what is this. And from this moment phone not responding. Simply stuck on this screen.
Any help?
Thank you and sorry for my english, hope you understand most of that.

Restore your backed up IMEI as per the post in development .
No backup take it to a service centre for a repair .
