My pal has a Desire C, digitizer apparently failed for no reason after freezing up. Has now been replaced, phone switches on, turns on, sounds and notifications work, but still no input.
I assume phone is not rooted.
Is it worth flashing an RUU? Can I even flash an RUU on an unrooted phone? Do HTC still have RUU's?
Haven't touched a HTC since my Desire Z.
Thanx in advance guys, any help is much appreciated.

I got my HTC incredible s on jan. It's untouched (NOT ROOTED, BOOT MANAGER-LOCKED, etc).
My phone was working fine. But, yesterday night suddenly my phone crashed. So, i had to pull my battery and then switched it on. It crashed again on the HTC letters. So, i thought of repeating the same. I did and i found the same. So, i factory reset using the boot manager. But, THAT's IT. When i was entering the setup it crashed and then never turned on. It vibrated around 7 times and screen didn't turn on.
I thought the battery drained. So, i put it in charge. But, the light didn't glow. Any idea of what happened to my phone? Also, i own a gsm. So, no connection between my phone and my carrier.
Thank in advance

Thanks for the reply. But, i didn't find any topics that helps to turn it off. I mean for the untouched and unrooted mobiles. Can you please post the links? Coz, i'm just a newbie to android. I don't know whether the patches will work if i copy to memory card.
You should sent the Device to HTC, you will get a new one.

I am experiencing an unresponsive keyboard, at the bottom of the screen, after an hard reset. Previously it was working good without problems.
Any idea? does anyone had the same problem?

What if I have the stock rom with S-ON?
Hmmm..... if a factory reset doesn't work. You could always unlock the boot loader and try a custom rom.
Or take it back to HTC etc if you still can ?

The problem is that the phone is not mine but a person found on internet owns the phone and I would buy it, now my question is: should I buy the phone even if it has this problem? the phone has 8 months and is still can send back to HTC.

It is a difficult question to ask. No one can tell what the problem is. It could be hardware or software. If you can get to the shell you can enter the command getevent and capture the output of the touch events. See if it is at least generating any touch events at that portion of the screen. If the tool is capturing any events you confirm that the hardware is working fine at the least.
Just change the kernel gouverneur to something other than powersafe/interactive or conservative and done.

Hey guys my vivid is looking like is dead. It has power because I can feel it vibrating but the screen is blank. It is cracked the glass so I am hoping replacing it will fix it or is it a deeper problem?

Hopefully replacing it will fix it. If you happened to set up a VNCviewer on your phone you could check by accessing the screen from the computer, but I'm guessing that is unlikely.
Or get a mhl adapter and hook it to ur tv and see if that works .
So yes when I got home I was able to get boot loader on and I tried factory reset so it wasn't my screen I am guessing but when trying to get into recovery or trying to reboot its only on the HTC screen. This came out of nowhere so know I am a Little lost. What could of happened?

if your bootloader is still locked run the stock ruu file and it will put you on a stock Rom and fix any errors

Last thing I remember was talking g a picture of the sunset at the beach and then to having a dead phone

big scare you guys the phone powered up and turned on by itself now. I am guessing it has something to do with the screen so I am not going to mess with it until I exchange it. Hopefully this week thanks for the help
Seems like I spoke to soon its happening again. I am getting a power light but no boot up. The home keys will vibrate but the screen stays blank. I am know wondering whether it's the screen or the battery or maybe both..... One thing I do see when I am able to boot up to bootloader is that its telling me the battery has low voltage. Could that mean there is not enough voltage going to the phone from the battery.
When I charge my HTC an battery icon shows up...how can I remove it?
This icon is there when charging either phone on or off. Tried all setting options but no luck. Phone is not rooted and running 4.2.2.
Anyone one else have same issue? Googled and apparently few others have same issue but no solution found. Any assistance?
Doesn't sound like an issue. It sounds like a useful feature.
Not at night when you want to charge your phone and screen keeps glowing! Anyways thanks for your response.

Install an older hboot. Perhaps the equivalent of 1.54 on the normal One (around June). You'll need S-Off.
Anyway, I thought it dimmed after a while? Put your phone face down?
Finally this is taken care of with 4.4.2 update ?
