I'm interested in the Sprint One, but the 32gb isn't making me do the switch just yet. I want to know if anyone on sprint has ordered the Developer Edition with 64gb and have successfully activate it on Sprint. I do know that there was a slight delay announced today for the delay of the 64gb, but once someone has completed the actions of getting the device on sprint, please chime in. Thanks

No one ordered the 64gb Developer Edition for Sprint because it will not work for Sprint. There is only a 32gb Sprint version........for now.
I live outside the US and a friend of mine who lives there, gonna come and give me a visit in a month, so I thought I can ask him to buy me one and bring it here.
I did a little search on different options:
1. AT&T
2. T-Mobile
3. Developer Edition
I'm not that much into having colorful one, to me, the woven black is alright, but I'd rather to get 32gb.
Although the T-Mobile version is available in woven black and also the phone is unlocked out of the box, but only available in 16gb
DE with 32gb and unlocked bootloader is great, but come on Motorola, what a ugly combination, I hate the white back.
AT&T seems to fill all the needs, it has the 32gb memory and also I can get the woven black, but it has two problems, first one is the locked phone and second the locked bootloader/root.
The former is not a big deal and from what I've read, it can be unlocked easily. The latter, it seems that currently it's not possible to unlock the bootloader or gain the root access on AT&T, but my question is, is it a dead end on AT&T or in future is feasible. If it's doable, I can live a few months with it. What do you think guys?
so picky.....
just go with the dev edition and use a case or dbrand skin on it....
i'm happy with my DE unlocked, rooted and totally modified with xposed.
bought a nice pair of cases and skins to get rid of that white cover.
can't have it all
Was really considering the phone, but Telus sells the 16GB one. And I am not sure how they will cripple Moto's fast updates. Any Canadian owners, leave your thoughts. I am better off going with the Pure Version?
The only thing telus has done with their moto x is the branding in the status bar and a shortcut to the mytelus account Web app
I don't expect them to take long for other updates.
Mine didn't even come with the Telus MyAccount app at all? It seems like there's actually nothing here (locked phone aside)
The "My Telus" app is in the play store. There really isn't anything on the phone that should delay the update. Part of telus' marketing for this phone has been something along these lines: Pure Style, pure performance with the fastest updates. Im expecting to get the update at the same time as the pure edition or maybe after a few days of network testing.

You can actually remove the TELUS branding in status bar form network settings if you want.
Telus
According to the model number XT1097 the telus model is sold in a number of countries. There really isn't any carrier specific software on this phone. Only place telus is shown is in the APN settings.
Coming from the Galaxy S4 which was also 16gb I really like this phone. It doesn't have a SD card but I didn't really use the SD card I had in the S4 other than for music.

Do you think it is worth it for me to buy the pure edition or the Telus one?

If money is no object then the pure edition might be something to look at provided your going to go to a 32gb phone. So far my understanding between the XT1097 and the pure edition is only storage capacity difference and unlocked boot loader but I did read in the development section that someone with a XT1097 used the same method to unlock his boot loader on the Telus model which means it only comes down to having extra storage. If anyone knows of other differences please tell us.
The other way to decide is look at your current phone and if you still have enough storage capacity on it then the Telus one should work for you.

ah ok thanks! I am thinking of getting the Pure, but I forgot us Canucks cannot buy it
I'd love to know if the Telus version can be unlocked, I've been holding off on buying it because of this.

I was wondering the same thing. Though I might wait a bit for Black Friday as Moto usually offers a discount on their phones around that time, or around Christmas. The only issue is that us Canadians will have to go over the boarder to pick it up.

You unlocked the phone, or it came unlocked from Telus? And how much did it cost you after taxes?

I have been on ios for the last 5 years or so, bought the telus bamboo yesterday and i have already unlocked and rooted. The forum for me as a new android user was pretty strait forward and easy to comprehend and the pure method did indeed do the trick on my xt1097. If you are still undecided, i would recommend it and can testify to the effectiveness of the pure method as well as its ease.
With not a whole lot of convincing, I talked them into an additional incentive on a 2 yr so I not only didn't pay for it, but ended up with a negative balance on my bill. hehe
Hope that helps.
Does anyone know when is the end of the Telus exclusivity period?

how did you do it? i cant get any methods to work
This is probably completely off-topic, but I just spent a frustrating amount of time with someone from sales from Motorola. The person says it is a problem with my browser and I want to know if someone else can confirm this.
Recently I purchased the Moto X 2014 for my spouse. 64GB Pure Edition. No problems. Everything works fine.
Go to purchase one for myself today. Have some free time and use my work iPhone to look up the price while waiting at a job site. Pick all my options, select 64GB option, phone shows up as $499 (which is what I expected).
Go home, try to do the same thing, however, the same phone, same options, 64GB of storage will only go in my cart at $599.
The base model starts at $399 and the Motorola website clearly states that it is $100 more for the 64GB option.
The sales rep insists the correct price is $599. What gives? Is there something wrong with my browser is the sales rep wrong?
Thanks.
What carrier?

Trying to select the Pure Edition model. That one doesn't require you to select a carrier (but it will be used on T-Mobile).
Its definitely 599. i remember trying it before. 64gb is only for the pure and its 599. 399 is for the republic wireless one, its tricky advertising in my opinion. They pick the cheap carrier by default but as soon as you change it to any other one it goes up. The pure edition starts at 499, 32gb is like 549 and 64gb is 599. At least last I checked. Try different browsers and selecting different carrier/storage options. I don't know how you got it to show 499... it jumps straight to 599 for me as soon as I select 64gb.
Hello forum,
Like many of you I received my Galaxy S6 yesterday. After turning it on I naturally check the XDA forum to see if anyone had obtained root. I didn't realize that root may not even be possible, not to even mention custom ROMs. I wanted to know if it would be advisable to go and buy the T-Mobile version, should I buy an internationally version, or should I wait and hope the boot loader can be unlocked? I really miss Cyanogenmod on Samsung device for a true super Nexus experience like how my GS3 was. Unfortunately, I bought the GS4 and had my boot-loader locked down so the best I could do was Safestrap and the Google Play Edition Rom by Joe-Tech, but I still long for the feeling of the device truly being mine. Another concern is that anytime I had a real issue with the phone, like if I bricked it, or if the charging port stop working I could take it to the AT&T device store and just get a new (Samsung refurbished) phone. My 14 days are ticking away and I don't know what to do, I would really appreciate if some forum members could point me in the right direction. I signed up for the Next program with AT&T at Best Buy when I got it, so how would that be effected if I returned the device. Also, how do I use the menu key, if I hold the Recent key (the menu key) it just the multitasking window?
Thanks,
N7spaceuser
Bump.
Buy the unlocked version. SM-G920I. You can find it on eBay, thepowersellers.com, and a couple other places. Works perfect on AT&T, LTE and all. Unlocked bootloader, no bloat, faster updates, no AT&T bs. What are you people doing buying from AT&T?
