Happened to me too, install pdarecovery via odin ( you can find it in development forum, or just google it). Wipe all data, cache and dalvik cache, then flash 2.3.x via odin again.

Hey guys,
Urgent help needed...
I bought a new Galaxy S a month ago and I experience the lag and normally only a reboot could solve it. Then Froyo came by in Kies, and after the update it was still laggy. So i revolved to rooting with SuperOneClick and applying OCLF lagfix... It was running fine until after a week or two, the phone started to experience serious lags in the homescreen, the app screen and various force closes from apps.
Then i tried formatting the phone in recovery, i did a recovery and data wipe but only after that i realized that i forgot to unroot and clear the lagfix, but even then i had no problems until this morning the phone was lag again.
Assuming that it was the root and the lagfix that i forgot to undo, i tot of trying to flash my phone with Odin using the firmware i got from samfirmware.com
Downloaded I9000DXJPA from samfirmware and used Odin 1.3 to flash my phone, there wasnt any problems with the flash and Odin reported it being successful, but my phone only boots up to the Galaxy S GT-I9000 screen, not even booting to the 'S' screen. Waited for quite a long time then i tried booting into recovery but no luck, recovery doesnt work, but download mode works for me.... I tried flashing a few times and still no luck, changed to Odin 1.7 and tried flashing several times as well...
Please someone give me some advice or help me.... Please~
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Problems solved, did a flash using Odin to I9000XXJPU and the phone booted into recovery requesting for a factory reset and done.
Added Darky's v5.5 Gingerbread mod as well.
Thanks for those who replied
I tried flashing back to stock Eclair 2.1 firmware which i kept last time from samfirmware.com

<OSM> MD5 hash value is invalid
<OSM> AP_S1_PDA_DXJG4_CL458501.tar.md5 is invalid.

Ya. The asian JPA firmware posted on samfirmware was corrupted and not working. I tried many many times and yet not working, got advices from another forum and got JPU flashed into my SGS and now its running fine. ^^ thanks

Ya all the flashing is done with Odin but it seems that the problem is that the stock JPA firmware from samfirmware was not working or corrupted...
Problems solved with JPU + Darky's Mod ^^
Anyway thanks.
Please i need some help, i was on Gingerbread XXJVO Rom with fugumod 3.9 ultra kernel, done a format in CWM. Then tried to flash XXJVH stock rom in ODIN but message in ODIN says

<OSM> End...
Now my phone wont work properly, have tried XWJVB and XXJPU roms but same thing... have tried 512/803 pits please help me! Thanks
are you sure that this is not the developpers version of the roms ? you should get the one here and try again :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1011901
Also choose the one with bootloader or you won't be able to start your phone.
Change your bootloader back to froyo version.
Use Odin 1.0. Connect the phone in download mode and hit Start without loading anything. Wait a few seconds until the program says: Done! Do this a few times if the process hangs.
Then flash some Eclair rom with repartition.
After that make a full hard reset *2767*3855#. Now I think your phone should be fine.
If you want to install Gingerbread again, flash the new bootloaders.

May i know what does it make to hit start whitout loading anything on odin 1.0 ?
I can hardly say what exactly does that intervention, but as far as I know it fixes some NAND flash problems on software bricked devices.

Are you sure you have enough memory on your PC? Odin may need much memory to check md5, i think nothing has changed on your sgs because Odin can't check the file hash.
Your computer memory can't cause such kind of a problem.
It's probably connected with the bootloader.

I'm pretty sure this has nothing to do with the bootloader. If he got bootloop, it's because odin found a pit, it partitionned the phone so there is no more rom in the phone, and then failed to hash the files and didn't flash. Can you link me where you downloaded your software ? Or try to go back on your working XXJVO ?
You need to repartition your device. In my opinion, it looks like the /system partition is too small. (Check pit file used) And wrong section. Please post in the Q&A Section in the future.

He doesn't got a bootloop. The phone just doesn't work. All you can do is to put it in download mode. That's it.
I had exactly the same problem with mine as described above. And yes, you should make a repartition along with the other stuff.
What software are you talking about?
My Galaxy note does not boot anymore. I can boot CWM but when I flash a ROM or format /system the device hangs.
Any help would be greatly appreciated..
Have you tried wipe cache from recovery?
And wat exact happened before error occured?
Thanks for your quick reply
I got stuck on the Samsung N7000 screen after a reboot. I'm running [ROM][04.04.12] imilka's AOSP ICS v08 [IMM76D/4.0.4]
Formating data/cache works but when you install a ROM it just sits on installing update. I've tried flashing multiple ROMS.
If I select unmount /system or format /system it hangs as well. Same happens when I try to restore my backup from yesterday. I can only boot CWM or download mode at the moment.
I've only had HTC phones before so I don't have any Samsung experience.
Which kernel you had ?
What exact error occurs, when you flashing ROM?
I was using the kernel that came with the ROM.
I was just doing a reboot after the device has been powered off for a few hours. Nothing special.
Whe I try to flash a ROM now it just hangs at installing system forever. My guess is that something has screwed up the system parttion because I'm unable to format it now using CWM.
Any other way to try repartition the device?
try using flash with PC Odin
here is stock ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
download N flash using PC odin, you can find installation guide in post#2
Trying it right now. Phone is in download mode. Odin reports:

for about 5 minutes. Is it normal that it takes this long to start the connection?
It seems this is connection error
Try reinstalling driver on PC
connect device to dierct main board USB slot(rear side PC)
close kies/anti virus if running
Problem solved. Thanks a lot for your help!
Selecting 1 option at a time worked (maybe coincidence) Did PDA > Phone > CSC.
Phone boots
N7000XXLC1---------2.3.6-------2012 March----------N7000OXALC1-----------Open Europe----------------------------- Download (wipe)
now and I'll probably keep it that way untill Samsung released ICS.
Learned something about Samsung phones and Odin today. Used to do everything with ADB and fastboot with HTC devices.
Thanks again!!
Hello All
I have a GT 7000 with stock 4.1.2 on it and it is only rooted.
It told me it had downloaded firmware update which i pressed install ( not knowing I shouldn't have because of my note being rooted) , and in doing so it is now just showing the little android dude with the blue thing in his tummy going round
Pressing volume up, home, power button won't do anything.
I can only get it into odin mode ( volume down, home, power button )
I am a complete noob and not sure what to do to get my note to work.
A friend said I need to flash a new rom via odin and I cant find a clear guide on how to do that.
For I can't afford to brick my note.
Please help
Kindest regards

You have to have the samsung drivers installed for odin to work.
To get a stock rom google for sammobile. There are all official formwares (You will have to register).
After that extract that file, run odin and select the pda file (extracted md5 file).
Flash it. After reboot go to stock cwm and wipe data.
You should be fixed now.
Sent from note, a phone like never before
Odin is the way to go and the only way. Use this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901191 it will show how to flash Philz kernel on your phone and then you will have cwm. After that you will have to get a cwm flashable Rom out of the android dev section and put on your sd card, usb mass storage my work in philz kernel if so just put Rom on card and flash through cwm. Then phone will work or find a guide on pc Odin for flashing stock n7000 roms they are out there
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
This just happened to me!!
Thanks jakuburban for your advice.
Though i didn't need to "After reboot go to stock cwm and wipe data." or maybe i do.
I just let it finish booting etc and everything was working fine, everything intact and okey dokey.
Can anyone say why this happened and what to do about updates in the future please?
Thanks again guys.
Yeah, you sometimes don't need to wipe data. I told You to do this to be 100% sure it will work.
For the future, You can't use official update if You have root (normally it should give You information that You can't update the os because "Your device has been modified"), as You don't have original cwm and it won't boot into cwm to update Your os.
Sent from note, a phone like never before
Okey dokey.
Thanks again for the info.

Hanging at that place means there is some problem with the connection between note and pc. Make sure you have all the drivers installed and use original USB cable and main USB ports.
zip file roms need to be installed using clockwork mod recovery.

I installed tablet metrics with xposed installer. Then I used my phone normally for a few days and it started...
The phone started to reboot without reason. It just went crazy. I couldn't use it. Every time it turned on, 15 secs later started to reboot again. So I tried to uninstall xposed installer but didn't work. After doing that, my phone didn't boot anymore. It stayed in the "samsung" part. Then I went to recovery mode and did all the wipes possible, wipe cache, wipe factory reset, etc. Did everything but one, format data. And didn't boot. And as a last hope I did format data.
I shouldn't have done that.
Now I don't know what to do. Need some help, please.
I have installed the TWRP recovery. When I try to reboot it says "no OS installed". There is no way to install from TWRP a new OS ?
If you don't understand me or want me to add some more information just put it in the comments.
I don't speak english very well as you might know. Sorry.

Maybe your phone have some hardware issue, you told that it was rebooting every 15 seconds. Better go to some service centre.
