I bought my desire c back in june of this year on PC mobile prepaid in canada. I go to college in the USA so I network unlocked the phone and put my att gophone sim in it and all was well for 3 weeks then out of the blue it just started crashing and restarting at random and after every crash reboot I would get a notification saying submit crash report to htc. I did this several times but I think with such a cheap low end phone the reports fall on deaf ears. I factory reset it and everything worked for a day and a half then it started happening again.
All the apps I have installed now are:
adobe reader
apex launcher
app cache cleaner
barcode scanner
battery solo widget
chrome
cloudskipper
crash report
google drive
facebook
fast reboot
go keyboard
media scanner
osmand
shazam
simplenote
slacker radio
sms backup+
textplus
wifi manager
zite
I don't know which app may be causing this. I'm totally stumped and i can't have a phone restarting like this. I may miss calls or texts
in the process of a reboot
I really hope someone can finally find a solution to this issue. All I seem to find when looking it up are abandoned threads with no solution

crap can this get moved to troubleshooting my bad
If you are running stock rom, then flash Prometheus Sense Kernel. That might solve your problem..
Second link in my signature..
I never heard of installing a custom rom or kernel being the answer to fixing an issue with stock. However I was thinking of sticking maybe cm 10 or something on this phone since I hear wifi now works. Is there a program similar to odin on samsung devices but for htc phones? I have never flashed anything on a non samsung device.
Is flashing a kernel the same process as a rom?
Another thing I noticed is the phone doesn't reset itself when plugged in. However if I leave it unplugged, the next morning I will be greeted with the send error report to htc message indicating that it had restarted at least once overnight
does it matter if the phone is canadian or not? I remember my old samsung had issues because I use an american rom on it.

I unlocked the bootloader, rooted, flashed CWM and installed prometheus kernel have not had a random restart in 3 days (knock on wood) hopefully it won't start restarting randomly again. I downloaded the 800mhz version too so the increased speed is a nice bonus.
Thank you very much I think you saved me from having to buy a new phone!
I don't really understand why this fixed it and why the issue would randomly start happening.
However if it starts happening again I will install cyanogenmod 10 or something and if it still happens then I think the phone is defective

Thats great. I thought you'd already unlocked and rooted your phone. Isn't that a prerequisite for network unlocking? If I'm not wrong..

Right, im having various amounts of trouble with my galaxy s.
I bought it from my uncle brand new, it kept telling my that my sim couldnt connect to the network, so i had it unlocked. It still wouldnt work, then when i walked out of the building it decided to start working a few minutes later.
I then had to take out my battery for something then put it back in & boom, it stopped working again, now when i make calls it says not registered on network and when i try to connect it to the orange network it tells me that my sim cant connect to that network what do i do?
i see 2 options
take it back to the store for warranty (yes you bough it from your uncle, he should still have the original invoice)
or you can flash your device back to stock, and do a factory wipe
if i reset it to factory will it counteract the unlock?
the sim lock should remain
besides there is an Android Market app for free, to unlock your phone again if it does gets locked

so should a master reset sort it or? cuz i really am getting annoyed without a phone as i need it for business
do a master wipe first
if that still doesn't fix it, then a reflash via Kies or Odin should do the trick
if all that fails, then i'll take it back to the store for an exchange
i dont understand why its doing this though?
it was working around 1 oclock, then when i had to take the battery out around half 5 6 ish it happened again? i dont understand what the issue is?

Hello,
I recently bought from AT&T a Samsung Focus S and it came with 7720 OS.
Here is the problems on 7720:
-It doesn't send Images/Photos on Messages (sms/mms)
-It gives a lot of SYSTEM BUSY messages when i try to call someone.
-Sometimes it doesn't send messages.
-I receive SMS 1-2-3 hours LATER when someone send it to me. (it make me crazy...)
Well, i decided to update it manualy to 7740 and 8107.. When i got into the 8107 it stoped calling, when i try to call it closes the app.
I Rolled it Back to 7740 and i got no Samsung Area in the Marketplace...
[Q] Is there anyway to get the STOCK room 7720?
[Q] When AT&T launches the 8107 Update, will I be able to get it? (if it happens...)
[Q] Is this issues normal? Are them related to OS or to HW problem?
[Q] Does it have a way to solve it?
Thanks a lot Friends
Just to say:
I used the Original Roms From Microsoft from this link:

Hi,
That Link does not work. I would love to flash my Focus S as I have it here in the UK and although unlocked, the device still thinks it's an AT&T Wireless device. So an clean carrier free ROM would be a breath of fresh air for me.
Other than this, everything works, even 4G (I'm on O2 they are the only carrier currenly offering 4G in the UK)

Yeah, for me too buddy.
I'm having a lot of data issues and other things with my phone, like no MMS...
Sometimes i didn't receive a call and can't send messages ...
I'm here, just preying for someone to solve this issues...
The link i posted has only a normal update room from microsoft (i guess) it didn't remove carrier or something like this.
Anyway, hope things get better with this fones, they are really good but have a lot of restrictions...
I have different problem with my Focus.
First it was on stock Window 7 :
Touchscreen sometimes not working, it just stuck where ever area I touch it would not respond
The system lag, when I tried to swap or move between apps it will just freeze
Data connection very often not working, can not load any webpage or sync my email.
===
I thought update to 7.5 would fix those issue, so I plug it to Zune and updated to 7.10.7720
The issues still there...the only way I can fix the issues is to put it into sleep mode (push the power button and push it again) but this is just a temporary fix.
I love this phone but I can't stand it when it freeze alot....It feels like I want to throw it to the wall.....Aaaarrgghhhh.......
Wondering if a clean format and install fresh OS will fix the issues forever?

I'm stuck with this f*ckn device, I'm back to my black berry

I believe you should be in the Samsung Focus forum, this is the forum for the "Focus S" which is a different model.

This is exactly the problem I have! I'm in Canada and I have an unlocked Focus S and I love it. BUT, since it thinks it's an AT&T phone it's always telling me things like "CONNECTION NOT SHARED: To enable tethering on this device, go to [att site] or dial 611" so now I can't even use tethering, even though my carrier (Telus) includes it in my plan.
Any solutions?
Samsung Focus S is an AT&T phone so there's not really a "carrier-free" version. However, try following these instructions here from MrBurrrns to debrand your phone. That should set it to a generic carrier and your phone will even be interop unlocked now from WindowBreak. I'm not sure if your wifi tethering will work though. Please report back!
I am happily using liquid smooth but wanted to test a few things on stock. when i deploy stock i get stuck on the activating the connection part. I let it sit for about 15 minutes and still nothing. i can restore my nandroid and connect again just fine.
I am new to sprint so i don't really know the ins and outs.
Thoughts?
Also I can only get 3g when I had 4g with this room earlier. Do I need to call sprint?

Have you used the Sprint fix zip for custom Roms? If not, search around for it. That might help. As far as stock hanging up, I've had that happen too. I usually just cancel and retry and it goes through. You can find the data reset dialer code here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2949996
That might help too.
Funny... I'm having a similar problem. I switched to CM Nightlies for about three days. I experienced some instability today, so I decided to go back to stock for a while.
I flashed the newest factory image and re-locked my bootloader. It hangs on "Waiting for activation" or something like that. Nothing I do in settings resolves this.
Going to give it a little time and pray it fixes itself. I really loathe having to call customer service.
I skipped and went to more/cell networks/carrier setting/update Prl/update config and it went through. On stock.
Just an update. I moved my phone to Verizon and got instant 4G.
I just couldn't handle the crap service anymore.
Moved from one evil to one super evil.
Edit: added details.
I have had my Nexus 6 for 3 days and first installed my Straight Talk SIM yesterday. Everything worked fine for less than a day then I started getting MMS picture messages failing. Now I get no mobile data. I swapped my SIM with my wifes, also on straight talk and mine with hers and I get the same issue and mine works fine in her phone.
I have rebooted many times, I have checked my APN settings and even have tried alternatives.
I have done a few searches and see other have this or very similar issues but I have not found anything that fixes my issue.
I am running Pure Nexus with the stock kernel.

Need few more details. Who is your carrier? What ROM is on working phone?
I would clean flash latest factory image and see if that helps.

Straight Talk.
Pure Nexus ROM
I did a back up and tried flashing another ROM last night, CyanogenMod but I did something wrong and I ended up flashing Pure Nexus again and it restored everything from my backup (still learning I guess). But it is working fine, now that is, it was working fine before. The only thing that I thought may have caused an issues was I had Macrodroid setup to disable wifi radio when out of my homes cell tower's range. I used this all the time with my old phone and it helped a lot to save battery. But it didn't seem to work for some reason. So I turned Macrodroid off and it did help with my data issues then I even uninstalled it completely.
So bottom line, it's working now, but like I said in my original post, it was working for about 24 hours then I started having issues.

I think all know this detail by now. The APN however is unique straight talk even though it is technically AT&T or (T-mobile)
I can't believe this is still an issue, totally unacceptable IMO
I've had this twice today. 100% stock, no root. Latest T-Mobile 5.1.1 with T-Mobile service. I'll take my phone out of my pocket and have a "!" next to the signal bar.
This even happens when in use. I had Spotify streaming music in my car when it cut out. When I got home, I checked the phone and again, "!" next to the signal bar.
I just did a clean flash and factory reset yesterday and set the phone up as a new device (no apps auto downloaded from previous setup) and I'm still getting this error whenever I leave the phone to sleep too long.
Same here !
Bought a N6 as my first Google phone, I thought I'd get the benefits of an always up to date phone, but instead I have to deal with that kind of issue
Hopefully that's a software issue and Google will provide us with a fix quickly... that's why I bought a Nexus !
(Orange 4G - France)
I had the same thing happen to me today. I left my phone in the car to go to a meeting, went to check it had no signal. Just turned on airplane mode for a few seconds then off, everything came back. I'm using the phone on ATT GoPhone network. I'm also using the nextgenphone apn instead of the phone apn. Maybe that's causing it.

So pretty simple I have a nexus 6 and it was originally from t mobile. It worked fine then it started saying emergency calls only it seems occur immediately after trying to make a call. Texts don't affect it but as soon as I receive a call or make one all service is lost. I'm using straight talk tmo sim and it has happened on pure nexus, 6 ROM and cr droid also du.. Straight talk shows I'm connected and only thing that fixes it is luck and wipes with reflashing a ROM. I assume its something on my device that doesn't get wiped but I'm not sure. Any tips or advice would be appreciated.

Does it happen on stock?
How old is the device?
Do you have the simcard ejection tool? Have you tried reseating the simcard?
What radio are you running?
I've had it

I've had it two years. It was from T-Mobile site and yes and I believe its 44r I updated it back when I jumped to nougat. It does it on stock as well. I reflashed stock and it fixed it and then flashed a new ROM and it worked until I received a call. I played around a bit got it back and as soon as I called my voicemail and hung up I lost all service. I can't get it back again so I'm not sure what fixes it but I can say 100% a phone call in or out is what kills it.

In the development section there is a thread about radios...
Grab the baseband cache eraser... Or reflash your radio... I bet you have junk causing your issue in there...
And format your cache partition for poop and giggles when you do the radio thing

Just tried to no avail. If you have another theory maybe how straight talk switches from 4g to 2g or 3g for voice differently maybe its a build prop or some conflict. Otherwise I will just request a new sim maybe its an issue on there end.
Just wanted to update in case others struggle, I had a pack of 3 straight talk sims so I went online and transfered the number and service to my att sim and it fixed the problem either it was a sim issue or straight talk tmo problem or flashing a ROM or weekly jacks up something but either way I'd like to know because the Verizon sim never worked right it was the first one I tried hoping for more coverage in dead tmo spots. I will keep a look out in case someone has experienced this or has another idea. For now its working well with att sim
I didn't realize you had made a separate thread about this, as you mentioned your issues in the Pure Nexus thread. But now that I saw this thread I can utter those four immortal words no one likes to hear.
"I told you so."
In all seriousness, it's good to know that you got the issue resolved.
