I am here asking because I don't know how to ask the question to get a general answer.
I know having a hardware attachment on some phones gives you the ability to transmit a radio frequency so you can tune in from your car on anything you wanted to listen to from your phone. I was curious to find out if there was an app for HTC one that would be able to do this natively?

It's called tunein radio unless you mean wirelessly I'm not sure

There's an app out but it only works on gingerbread. Some one needs to to port the app for ics and jb. I'll post the link in a bit.
EDIT: Here it is..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45451408
I have not tried it on my one yet since I just got it. But I did try it on my mytouch 4g running ics and it did not work. From what I been reading, it only works on stock gingerbread only. Some one needs to update the app.

If you mean transmit via FM, no.
Android devices that can transmit on FM band are extremely rare.
Bluetooth "transmit" is possible, but not FM.
I kinda figured, it wasn't possible sense it needed an attachment for other phones. Thanks for all your answers.

And sorry to more clarify it would create a radio station on a frequency that's not being used. Just to set things straight.
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
you may find cheap FM transmitters on eBay, used to have one during ipods days. the quality is never much and in a metropolitan area you struggle to find a free frequency. I'd say this day and age go with Bluetooth if possible

Does anybody know how to get driving mode to read text messages out loud? All I can get it to do is announce someone sent me a text message.. That's not much use if it doesn't read the actual message.
I could install some app, (suggestions?) but I feel like I'm missing something and shouldn't have to. Vlingo in the market says it's not compatible with the note.
A2dp volume is the app I'm trying tomorrow.

oh, this one is so close...... but it isn't playing through my car speakers. I get a Bluetooth connection error and it then plays through the note speaker. I might get it anyway. I'm only playing with the free one right now.
I'm searching around for a proper call recorder app for the HTC vivid. If you know of any what kernel / Rom are you using?

Right now we are waiting on a kernel that supports cwr...

I have call recorder 1.2.5 and seems to be working with many of the kernels here. I hadn't tried it bc the devs didn't mention cwr in their posts, it must be in the code bc they are working.

LOL another thread dive.
BUT wanted to say after finding this thread, i tried the latest version of Call Recorder 1.5.2 and love it.
Only one glitch so far. Some reason doesnt record direct to AMR, however a feature to record in WAV and after phone call, converts to AMR on the fly for file size.
I had a similar feature on my old Samsung D900 (middle east rom) and came in handy.
Anyway, my heads up in case someone is looking for something similar.
I feel like there has to be a way to mirror the one's screen over wifi or Bluetooth. Why in the world isn't this an option. Is it just not possible over the hardware or is it just that the devs haven't figured out a way yet?

My GE HTC One has been having horrible battery life the last few days. Android System and Mediaserver have been slaughtering my battery within an hour and i want to know why. My possible thoughts are
Snapchat +Keepchat xposed extension (it saves all snaps to your internal mem)
Or settings issue?
Im exhausted and was hoping someone could give me advice to wake up to and try out tomorrow.
(BTW, its not partial wakelocks (caused by apps) because i got an xposed app that lets you disable wakelocks per app, and i knocked out any indecent wakelocks).
All help will be thanked!!!

about all I can suggest is that you wipe everything and flash the rom with stock kernel.
add apps one at a time and you should be able to work out what's using your battery.
I quit using snapchat and keepchat, it helped alot.

HEY HEY HEY. ITS NEITHER SNAPCHAT OR KEEPCHAT.

So ive been doing some reading, and apparently android 4.4.2 (across all devices) has a bug causing 100% cpu and battery to be diverted to the camera once an app has opened it. Google is aware, and working on a update. Should restore things to the way they were normally

Not all devices, just those where the camera uses a Qualcomm chipset, such as the Nexus 5.
Google releases software updates to the Nexus 5. They do not release updates to the HTC One, HTC does. Even for the GPE.

I'm just wondering if any has been able to trigger their DSLR using the IR blaster on this phone. If so please tell us what app and brand of camera you use. I use a Sony a77 and haven't been able to get it working yet
I use a d600 with my m7 using ORTA. I'll try with my m8 when it comes back from HTC on Saturday.
