The volume rocker annoys me, it is does not stay properly at its place. Does your Moto X suffer the same problem?

My first x had loose volume rocker and power button. My second one is perfect, no wiggle at all.

Do you think I should ship it back and get the developer edition?

Which version do you have? Did you post full price or do a 2 year?

I have At&T version 32 GB from motomaker, full price

I would probably say yes if you are wanting to unlock the bootloader. Also if you don't mind the black front with the white back that the Dev edition has I'd say go for it.

No issue here with my buttons, nice and tight.

Does anyone on this forum have a developer edition?
Just wondering...
I was going to buy one if root can't be obtained without one. It just can't happen anytime soon. I'm not rich.

If you do happen to have that kind of money don't waste it on an atrix HD. Get one of the new phones coming out this year with twice the specs.

Sorry i am just starting to use android and I'm kind of a noob. I used an iPhone before I got my moto x. I love the phone but I really want to root it. So I was wondering Would it be possible to unlock the boot loader in the future without using motorolas unlock tool basically to bypass the restrictions placed by att.
Thanks in advance for the answer to my noob question.

Until an exploit is found, no.
How long does that usually take

Might be never. Moto locks down harder than apple

Just got my X today, and the volume ticket is flush with the side of the device rather than the power button. Is this normal? If not I'd like to know so I can get it replaced.

Both of my buttons stick out a similar amount, about 1/64". Chris

All of the buttons should stick out the same amount.
Thanks, looks like I'll have to contact Motorola

This may have been asked before. I tried searching and came up with nothing.
How can you tell what model moto x you have? I bought the phone used and the seller didn't know.

It should be written on the bottom of the back. You will have to shine it in the right light to read it

Fastboot, power down and than hold your power key and volume rocker in at the same time for 2 to 3 seconds and release both and you will be in fastboot. than use the volume down rocker to sellect barcodes and you will see the bottom code is your make date. Also on your box if you still have it.
