[Q] Any rom that extends battery life out there? - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Heya guys,
So I grabbed myself an xperia z and I was wondering if there might be a well optimized rom that extends my battery life.
I couldn't find anything so far, mostly I read that stock rom has the best power management. Anybody know a rom I
should check out?
Thanks,
Fauntler0y

De-bloated stock ROM, together with Doomkernel and some battery saving tweaks / init.d scripts / undervolting will do the trick

[Q] Best Kernel for ICS Based Incredible S

Hi. If the same thread is already exists, please forgive me. Been trying to find similar thread for about 3-4 pages here, but none found.
If no, well, can anyone here suggest the best kernel for ICS based ROM for our IncS in term of performance and battery life. Thanks in advance.
XS-ICS.
What's the benefit of this kernel over another? I am sorry I am also new to this. If you can just provide some high level overview

Hi. From my point of view, each kernel has it's own advantages and disadvantages in terms of performance, battery life and etc. For custom kernel like X2 ICS (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1851121), you can overclock your IncS to higher CPU speed but PLEASE bare in mind, even though our device is the same, but that doesn't mean the optimized value to overclock is the same. My suggestion, please look carefully for pro n cons for each kernel in the forum because some kernel is not supported for certain ROMs. For me, I just flashed ICS Sense G11 v2.0.1 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1887379) and it went smoothly with my Android Revolution HD 3.01 ROM.
I have used a couple of custom ICS ROMs (Nik's and IceCold) and I find that the following gives the best choice of governors, clocking variability and battery life.
Choosing the right governor and clock speed will of course impact on your performance.
Also recommend XS ICS 2.2... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1851121

ICS sense version G 11 V 2.02 is also cool.... you can try that also...I had flashed this kernel along with the new radio...believe my battery strength and smoothness has improved drastically.... my phone used to get heated up like anything but after flashing these 2, it is so cool....

Continuing Galaxperia

Hello,
As some of you may or may not have read, I got achyuts permission on continuing on Galaxperia.
In the thread I've posted my plans on a new build with:
=> Xperia Z Theming
=> Xperia Z Launcher
=> Tweaks regarding performance and battery life
=> Updated Walkman
I was considering making it waterproof like Xperia Z but yeah, no can do...
Well back to the point, if you all have ideas about the newer build which I will start this weekend, post them in THIS THREAD ONLY, not in the Galaxperia thread, cuz I will make a new thread for it!
Best regards,
Jeroenvk94

My suggestions:
1.Use cocore kernel
2.Add Bravia Engine if v2 dont have (i think improve little camera)
3.Add Wallpapers from Xperia Z.
In some words: do your best too look everything like Xperia Z.Good luck !
And you need to resize the wallpapers from the wallpaperpicker to HDPI because, now,in the ROM,they don't look good.

Thanks for your feedback and your wished.
I'll try fulfilling it.
Concerning the CoCore: I'm on CM, so which CoCore build is the best right now. Because with 7.0 i experienced battery drainage

Okay, one thing I wanted to improve was battery life and performance. So if the battery life improves with CoCore, I'll include it!
Edit: I've asked cocafe for his permission to include CoCore in the ROM
Verstuurd van mijn GT-I9070 met Tapatalk
I don't think its a good idea to include cocore
There is still some battery drainage here and there and some instabilities
And if someone wants cocore they can install by himself, cause I think there is some people that, don't want cocore
I'm using the latest nightly and it's very nice
But you should probably base your ROM on ublph or dulp8

Development started this morning!
I've started by taking an LQE base ( I had it on my pc by coincidence ).
I've adjusted my objectives:
*Better Xperia FB integration
*Updated Xperia Launcher
*Updated Xperia Walkman
*Xperia Z Theming
*More speed, more power, more stamina
=> There will be 2 versions. A Galaxperia v3 ( no CoCore ) and Galaxperia Core version ( w/ CoCore ).
I'm also busy to get permissions to include some awesome and usefull apps which can enhance phone's performance!

[Q] what is the best custom rom for xperia z?

hey guys...!!! Recently i tried cyanogen mod 10.1.2..!!! I was not much happy with it because it dint have any apps..but maybe after adding apps...it may work nicely..!!!
However I'm really confused to what custom ROM to use???
I know that I should not ask this question...however if anyone can guide me with the best rom to use which has really nice battery improvement, system tweaks, performance and sound quality...!!!
I am not asking this to insult any other custom rom builders...!! I need to know what is the best for my xperia z..!!! so just asking this..!!!
There is no best rom. Try them for yourself and use the one that is best for you.

It depends on the piece of string I believe.
I run stock with DoomKernal & a few Xposed Modules. Or Cyanogenmod / AOKP. But with anything but stock you run the risk of something not working correctly. It depends on the string like I said.

hmm thnx for the reply..!!! i understand your point however cyanogen mod is good however camera is not working properly as it should be with the original stock rom...!!! also the sound quality is not good however i have added the purex mod of sound and it works like a charm...sound is really awesome..!!!
i need that only things for the custom rom...
As per the performance, xperia z is always good...everything is fine however i just need a good battery life...!!!

Playing around with voltages etc. in the Kernel, screen brightness, unused services results in pretty good battery times. For best battery results it's best to stay stock. Cyanogen and AOKP are not great on battery at the moment (from what i've read)

Try the existenz ultra v3. Using it now. Smooth as butter. Battery life similarly as stock but great performance.

[Q] custom rom for xperia TL lt30at ?

i have official jb 4.1.2 firmware 9.1.F.1.120
which custom rom to put in?tnx, sorry for bad english
Honestly, you should experiment to see what roms work best for you. There are a lot of excellent roms on here made by really talented developers who put in a lot of hard work.
I'm currently using Peetr_ 's Hybrid rom. Even with no undervolting (due to locked bootloader), with only setCPU (set cpu profile to 384mhz-486mhz when screen is off) I'm getting insane battery life- 53 hours of standby time without charging and still ticking at 61% (granted, the phone was actually used for an hour.)
Hope you find something you like.

Refering to my post in the HybridRom thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48796459&postcount=1018 Do you know if there is a way to install the stock kernel to a unlocked bootloader phone.
As I have a permanently locked bootloader, I am unable to try out any custom kernels. I do have a Nexus 7 FHD with an unlocked bootloader, and by experience, a custom kernel does help with battery life, as it gives you the option to undervolt the phone, among other tweaks already implemented by the developers of the kernel.
I had a look at the NK kernel features, and it does give you those options. Slight undervolting should help. I suggest sticking with what you have. Remember that the main source of battery drainage would be the screen. My screen is off most of the time, with short timeouts and liberal usage of the on/off button (screen is off when listening to music).
Hope this helps.

Stock 5.1.1 is the best right now. Latest version and very stable. Great battery life too. I used to flash a lot of custom ROMs, but now stock with root seems good enough
I downgraded from 5.1.2 to 4.4.4 108 and am having a lot of fun
The phome is more responsive
More stable
Better battery life
Better camera quality
Less bugs
More mods and tweaks
The only cons is its not smooth like android lollipop
If u didnt use lollipop before, u wont notice the little stutter on kitkat
I use 5.0 stock rom. Its smooth everything is fine. But camera is not much clear and bettery life is around 4 to 5 hours.. What is yous bettery life??
