i have official jb 4.1.2 firmware 9.1.F.1.120
which custom rom to put in?tnx, sorry for bad english
Honestly, you should experiment to see what roms work best for you. There are a lot of excellent roms on here made by really talented developers who put in a lot of hard work.
I'm currently using Peetr_ 's Hybrid rom. Even with no undervolting (due to locked bootloader), with only setCPU (set cpu profile to 384mhz-486mhz when screen is off) I'm getting insane battery life- 53 hours of standby time without charging and still ticking at 61% (granted, the phone was actually used for an hour.)
Hope you find something you like.

Which kernel do you use?
Stock kernel (the one that came with the phone).

Refering to my post in the HybridRom thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48796459&postcount=1018 Do you know if there is a way to install the stock kernel to a unlocked bootloader phone.
As I have a permanently locked bootloader, I am unable to try out any custom kernels. I do have a Nexus 7 FHD with an unlocked bootloader, and by experience, a custom kernel does help with battery life, as it gives you the option to undervolt the phone, among other tweaks already implemented by the developers of the kernel.
I had a look at the NK kernel features, and it does give you those options. Slight undervolting should help. I suggest sticking with what you have. Remember that the main source of battery drainage would be the screen. My screen is off most of the time, with short timeouts and liberal usage of the on/off button (screen is off when listening to music).
Hope this helps.

Hello
Someone can tell me the difference between firmware I9305XXUEMKC and I9305XXUEML8, both are 4.3, already searched but found nothing.
Which is the best? ...
thank you
It's hard to tell what's the difference, because we have no changelogs between different firmware versions. We can just try it on our own and notice (or not) any difference.
"Changelist" might be considered as some factor. Higher one should mean 'better' or at least 'more advanced' firmware, that's all.

It seems like you had updated your bootloader to 4.3, then Boeffla kernel might cause problems for you...
I would recommend staying with stock kernel or Agni's PureStock kernel, it is said to be free of these random freezes, reboots, etc

With all the hype about the official sense 6 ota rolling out I've been considering reverting back to stock w/ root. The reason is I dont use many of the features that custom roms offer, I like how sense 6 looks and prefer it to be stock (no init.d support etc).
I dont care about features or performance, my only concern is battery life, so how does the stock rom compare to custom roms on the HTC One in terms of battery life?

I would say stick to stock as much as possible because custom roms have bugs and u have to wait till devs finds any solutions

I find that quite interesting
you are on xda-developers but recommend staying stock... somewhat of a controversy there, no?
and stock doesn't have bugs?
I have to agree with slogger. I tried most of custom ROMs on xda and none of them can match my stock 4.4.2 in combination with Elemental kernel. I have perfectly smooth, fast phone and my battery lasts around 50 hours off charge with moderate use with CPU OCed to 2.05 GHz

The same way you flash a kernel on a custom rom. Flash it from custom recovery. Make sure that the kernel you want to use is Sense compatible

I read that that wont work, since the stock rom has a secure kernel. You would need an unsecure kernel in order to be able to write another on over it.
But ill give it a shot regardless.

No you don't. The secure kernal affects for example deleting system apps or any bloat software that you don't want. It will be back after a reboot. You can flash anything in recovery no probs

First, here are steps in turning off caps lock:
http://www.wikihow.com/Turn-Off-Caps-Lock
Secondly, please search before you post.
Thirdly, if somehow you just can't find what you're looking for:
No, you can't use Sony's kernel on CM11 based ROMs.
You can flash Doom's advanced stock kernel which is just Sony's stock kernel with added recovery via recovery if you want to switch back to stock-based ROMs. It is found in Doomkernel thread, please search for it.
Even we would really like to see AOSP/CM/MIUI on stock kernel, there's no luck...
But...
There are some projects trying to build MIUI on stick kernel so join them and try to help...
..hehe.. Here are steps for turning off caps lock...haha....good one...

CM,PAC other custom roms need custom kernel only..
there are no chances they work on stock kernel....
stock based roms only work on stock kernel
so in conclusion
is there any custom rom out there for xperia z1 that has a really good battery life ?

build7 always brick my phone
hi
i'm trying to install build 7.
My phone has locked bootloader. Installed version is #build6.
I have used philz recovery to flash build 7. To flash #build7 takes 2 minutes long.
After flashing, i reboot the phone using reset recovery option of philz.
Phone gets stuck, black screen, without sony logo, and i have to reflash to .207 stock rom using flashtool.
What am i doing wrong?
thanks in advance.

I guess it just happens sometimes. When I first flashed build #6 with twrp, everything went well, but something must have got corrupted along the way as the phone was stuck on Sony logo, and the screen just went gradually from orange tint to black from there on with continuous reboot loop. Fresh install helped though. And I've done everything the same.
Go back to stock, root, install recoveries, wipe cache, dalvik and system and install build #7. Should work just fine.
P. S. Another question from me, maybe not entirely related to only this ROM, but to flashing ROMs while using link2SD in general, as I'm sure some of you guys are using it. Is there any way to avoid some apps getting totally borked after each update? I know you need to recreate the mount scripts after flashing, but it just doesn't work for select apps each time, and I have to go through a tedious process of unlinking each one that is screwed, rebooting, and relinking. It's getting annoying with weekly updates (Thumbs up MRSteve <3).

Not sure if it's an issue with the nightly build you were working with this time, or something's actually wrong with build #7, but I don't seem to be able to install any CM Theme. Each and every one of them seems to install just fine, only to spit out "Failed to install <appname>" notification after a minute.
Anyone having this problem aswell?

This ROM or CM11 Official ?
Wich is better ? Keep my bootloader locked and use that ROM or unlock my bootloader and flash the latest CM11 Official Snapshot (M11) ? Few months, i flashed CM11 for locked bootloader and I had lot of anoying bugs/freezes. Can I expect better with that ROM ?
Thank's and sorry for my bad english.
This ROM is completely stable, and has no apparent bugs whatsoever. The only thing I noticed is worse than stock is the battery life.

Why on earth did you do that!? You'll need a computer with you. You will sadly however, have to start from the beginning. Get a stock ROM .ftf, flash it via Flashtool, then start over (root, install CWM, flash CM11 weekly build by MrSteve555)
The reason why your phone is bricked is because you have flashed a ROM for unlocked bootloaders (this being said is the M11 that you updated your phone). Your device does not have an unlocked bootloader. It does not start up due to the kernel installed on your phone is not stock (cyanogenmod's official kernel of course). On locked bootloaders, using a custom kernel is impossible and will cause bricks.

I haven't used Official CM11 on my SP, as my bootloader is locked, so it's not me to ask. For me, the phones eats through battery really fast, with screen on, it's like 10 minutes for 1%. Definetely not a days worth of use when gaming.

You're not going to be able to flash a kernel with a locked bootloader, which is what I'm guessing you have since you didn't mention it in your post.
Roms and kernels make very little difference in battery life.
Battery life depends on signal strength while on data, setup and usage. ?
Stock kernel if you are on a stock (or stock based) ROM.
