try a factory reset from recovery, after backing up ur data.
And, if you have so much respect for the forum and the "forum experts", also respect and follow the rules. ask in the questions thread, not a new thread. if we had a new thread for every phone that didn't start, the forum would be cluttered.

Please post your queries in the Dummies Guide and myself or others will try to help you there. The moderators will probably close this thread down and then you can't get your questions answered.
When you post in the Dummies Guide please try to give some more information such as what spl you are currently on, are you trying hspl or uspl and what rom are you trying to flash? Also with getting stuck on 0% do you get any error messages?

[Q] [HELP] Phone might be bricked in a new way

I think that this might be a new one for the group, but I'm hoping not so that I can get my phone back to a working state. Here's the scenario:
1. Was running MIUI-US 2.3.5 ROM
2. Attempted to install CWM via this wiki: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Sa...te_Guide#Installing_the_ClockworkMod_Recovery using the "Windows Only" process
3. Phone, upon reboot, switches from Galaxy S logo with I9000 listed under it to SGH-I897 listed and then hangs
4. Tried to go flash back to stock using ODIN3 but it is hanging at "Set Partition" and the phone is still connected and in "Download" mode so I'm afraid of disconnecting and completely bricking the phone.
Any/all help is greatly appreciated.

[Q] stable custom rom for mini2?

Hi everybody,
sorry for posting this outside the mini 2 forum, but appearently that's a developers reserved forum, so I had no rights to post there.
I would like to ask what is the latest stable custom rom developed for mini2, where to find it and possibly an instruction page.
I had good experience with CM on another galaxy before, so I checked on the the CM website first but mini 2 is not listed there
On the other end I saw a long post on the mini2 developers forum saying that CM10 was actually created, but the post is 91 pages long(!), so forgive me if I didn't read it all. Is it working?
I also checked if there was something like an "in evidence" post with instructions for newbies but couldn't see any, maybe I missed it.
Can someone point me to the right page?
thank you for your held

mm in the meantime I screwed things up. I installed gapps and now it only boots in recovery mode...
why? what shall I do?
please help
thank you
davide
ok, now I'm starting to panic.
why does nobody answer, am I doing something wrong with this post?
I reinstalled the stock rom. I first tried using CWM recovery and selecting install zip file from sd card, but it didn't work: it told me BAD regarding the zip file (downloaded from sammobile), then I succeded using odin. by the way which is the correct method?
However it now seems to start, but I get in loops messages from the setupwizard that says the guided configuration has crashed and also from gapps that Google service Framework has crashed (but should gapps be wiped by the rom flash???).
the problem is that the first of the two keeps restarting and crashing so the phone doesn't do anything else then showing this messages.
please help

After you flash Stock ROM via Odin. Remove battery, put it back. Boot into stock recovery - clear user data & cache and reboot. If the same error occurs try deleting /Android directory(old cache) in your sd card.
thank you for your reply, unfortunately it didn't help.
what do you mean by "stock recovery"? the recovery I see, I believe is CWM which I installed before, but I'm not sure.
anyhow from there I wiped user&cache but I had tried this before and removing teh battery didn't make a difference.
I do not have any /Android directory on my SD card.
it's a simple 4GB fat 32 partition with a single file in it (the zip with stock rom I tried to flash before using odin) and nothing else.
by the way, I used odin3 v.1.83 to flash and I selected the file using PDA button,
but I also have "bootloader", "phone" and "csc" options.
what is the difference?
everything I do makes it more dramatic!
I tried reapeating the whole procedure once again, and odin crashed while flashing teh rom. now it doesn't even boot in download mode, it simply asys to connect kies in recovery mode. but kies never saw my phone in spite of driveres reinstallation, and it is of course not seeing it now!!

you should terminate kies before using odin. You can kill it in task manager, because kies intereferes with ODIN.
You should'nt be concerned with bootloader and the other options. As long as ur downloaded stock has tar.md5 extension you just place it in the PDA section and select Auto reboot and F. Reset time only.
Also You should only disconnect when it says PASS otherwise u will brick ur phone.
When u success fully flash ur stock rom, the chance is it will not get to homescreen
So u remove battery, reinsert it, press and hold HOME button together with POWER button, the phone boots into stock recovery, you choose wipe data and cache, then reboot. (chemicalrage explained this)
If it ain't booting into download mode u should go to service centre.
PS: My advice is to stay away from custom roms until samsung releases jelly bean for mini 2, then better custom roms will be released.

I9001 bricked? Please Help!

Hey guys I've got some serious problems with my phone...
Today I wanted to flash the new recovery from ivendor on my brend new PC. Ive installed the "Samsung Driver for mobile phones" because I know that Kies won't work on CM10. Well so far so good. I flashed the new Recovery via ODIN. The phone rebootet normally after that like always. Than back on my Homescreen I was going to settings to do a factory reset including deleting all files from SD card. The phone rebooted again and than everything was going to hell...
Than the Android symbol showed up like always after a full wipe but that time the phone bootet into recovery directly and my recovery shows a lot of errors like E:cant' mount / cache/recovery/log E:format_volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p17. And my recovery background has this Android symbol which you can see in that link:
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-XU5LJWLFf...AZ4/fiL5GNNDg6g/s1600/AndroidRedTriangle.jpeg
When trying to boot normaly my phone only boots till Samsung galaxy/Cyanogenmod screen and after 10-15 secound it goes off...
Please Help!
Cant help you alot, but try to get stock firmware and then root and flash your rom again. It should help you.

!!!!!!!!!!!
the most important thing:
you have an i9001
dont flash anything that is made for i9000
flash only things that are made for i9001
!!!!!!!!!!!
please try to flash a stable recovery via odin like clockworkmod 5.xyz.
you may find it in the CM9 thread by arco
edit: just found:

Greetings & good luck
Thanks guys for your help. I tryed all of that. Even flashing Stock ROM hasn't helped. Phone is bricked : /
does odin detects your i9001 when it shows the screen described in 1st post?
if you could do something with odin and if there are no hardware problems your phone is far away from bricked. (my opinion)
take a look at our wiki. you may find something to reset everything (partitions, bootloaders...)
good luck
well dude u r using s+ right..try flashing it through the recovery mode directly if u can access the card..or take a card reader and mount the cwm recovery and flash that and flash those zip files u want through external sd card..i dont trust odin much..maybe we can figure this out together if u didnt fix it yet.
I have exactly the same problem, no matter what I flash (with Odin/CWM) it no longer boots, and it fails to wipe data partition. Any idea how to repartition de data partition?
It never happend to me but I'll try to help you. I don't know if I'm allowed to put links on this forum but broodplank who is known on this forum for his sgs+ releases has a great tutorial on his site and u might wanna check it out. Google broodplank and acces his website, under the section tutorials you will find what you're looking for.
or look on his xda thread...

HELP!!!! My phone is on a boot loop cycle!!!!

Hi!
My phone is stuck on a continuous reboot loop with no sound.
I've looked through the other forums for this problem and nothing seems to address my particular situation.
Firstly, my phone is a Samsung Galaxy s5830. It is not rooted. And I use a MAC desktop. Also, I am rather technically illiterate (eg. I don't know what a ROM is) so I need answers that a newbie can understand. Sorry for that.
I have looked at countless youtube clips and forums. But everything seems directed towards PC (i.e. download Odin, etc). I tried downloading Heimdall and it just kept crashing.
I have tried pressing vol up, power and home at once and then gone through the steps of "wipe data" etc.
Also, I have no idea how to find out what firmware or whatever I need to get. I'm just trying to get my phone working again.
PLEASE HELP!!!! Thanks!!!
have you tried to power off the Phone;
hold "volume down + home + power" to enter in stock recovery
wipe data & wipe cache
reboot the phone.
Anyway, to flash the original firmware you need to download odin tool running on PC and stock ROM
