I used Odin to repartition using the s1_odin_20100512.pit file. I used the zimage for the T759 file that was provided in another thread but when it boots to recovery it won't mount to anything. These are the errors I get in the attached photo. Any ideas would be better than the ones I've tried.
edit:
from this thread I D/L the exhibit4g-stock-rom-odin file from "tknighten" which contain the files in image 2.

Why would you use boot image for the t759 on the t679? I'm confused here what phone model do you have.

According to the sticker, the phone is a SGH-T759. This screenshot is from before we tried to flash a new rom.

I'm surprised it didn't brick the phone the t759 and t679 are two different phones. t679 files wont work for the t759.
Its a little confusing but there's other versions of the Samsung galaxy exhibit.

I don't think anyone in this forum has your phone, so it isn't going to be easy to help you. This is [the forum]for the Galaxy Exhibit 4G T679.

I have the correct pit for the SGH-T759 and and the tar file in a 7zip file if someone wants to host it.
Here's what I did:
I extracted the tar into a folder. Using Heimdall-Frontend, I loaded the pit then matched the files in the tar to the add box. I included a screenshot of everything I loaded on it. Phone is working now.

Hi
I have now for couple of hours tried to find a solution.. did not suceed. So i hope someone has time to help a bit.
Firstly i've tried to "CF-Root" my galaxy S, but i got the message below.
<ID:0/009> Added!!
<ID:0/009> Odin v.3 engine (ID:9)..
<ID:0/009> File analysis..
<ID:0/009> SetupConnection..
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
I thought maybe it is because of my firmware, so i tried to change the firmware with odin, but got the same message..
I have found people with the same problem, but no answers, so i'm begging for help cause i want to go "darky"
Any known solution to the above?
thanx.
Hi!
When i got the same result, the solution was simple: put my phone to download mode

probably a very stupid question but "Download mode" means to enable the "USB Debuging" or am i totally off?
No, it is by turning your phone off, holding volume down, home and power on until you see a yellow triangle. That is download mode.
Don't try it if you have no idea what you are doing. Also, your download mode may not work which might mean it needs to be fixed.

I think it is better to read first (HOW TO section): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=723596
That is the point: "Several batches of phones that were sold have the download-mode button combo disabled (VolumeDown+Home+Power or alternatively Home+Power on some phones). Check if the download-mode combo works BEFORE flashing!"

i guess your three button download mode works..what you can do at this point is to download a stock rom...if the rom is only a tar file, place it on the PDA with repartition unchecked and no pit file...after flashing the stock rom, flash the CF Root with unchecked repartition and no pit...place the CF Root tar file on the PDA...that's it...place darky's in your sdcard and flash via CWM
Also make sure no part of Samsung Kies is running (use ctrl alt del and check for it running in the background) as I tried odin after using Kies and had this problem until checking this and rebooting

So that's called download mode, did not know that, ive been there before just did not know that it was called DL Mode
never mind, thnk you, i have now FW 2.2.1...
now the next step is the CF Root and after that i will become darky
always think before you act, is a good thought to take with you from this piont in your quest for the darky !
That is to late.. ive already become darky.though i miss my danish t9 dictionary with samsung/gingerbread keyboard.. The once in the market are not the best.. Is it possible to take out a t9 dictionary from a standard samsung FW and put it in the darky i use now

Flashing Stock Rom
Hello everyone,
I have a major problem that all started with bootlooping. I was about to recover my phone in CWM in several ways and suddenly one of the times I went back in CWM, my phone couldn't read, mount or open any file on its storage. Nor internal or external memory, nothing. I have been troubleshooting for two days now and still no luck. I have restored kernels, flashed stock rom with/without pit files (.512) and again - still no luck.
Does ANYONE have a clear answer for this problem? I will be very grateful for any tries or suggestions and I hope it will help people in the future aswell.
do you have or had something like E: Can't mount /dev/block/stl10 (invalid Argument) ??
good luck, and start from using a search button here
Sorry, no, only the can't mount/open and unkown volume.
That's also a weird thing that there are "uncomplete" tutorials to get rid of /dev/block and no tutorials at all to get rid of the problem that I (and probably a lot of other people) have. Thanks for you suggestion though, it's highly appreciated.
Does anyone else have any ideas?
ODIN + repartition
If you can go into "Download mode" using the keys combo and ODIN recognizes the device, I think that you should try flashing a stock rom with using the pit file and the "re-partition" option.
As mentioned in post above you need to flash a stock rom. I had this issue after trying to restore my stock backup straight from CM7. They use different file systems hence the issue (I think). Anyway I used odin with re-partition checked using all four files (pit, csc etc) Worked perfectly although I had to first flash the four files with re-partition and then flash a second time without checking re-partion and using only the three files (did not use pit file on second flash) after this everything ok - flashed cf-root & now team icssgs 4.2 with no major issues
Ok but I tried to flash the PDA& .512 pit file with re-partition on but it gets stuck. Though I haven't tried with modem and CSC along. Could you guys help me with finding these files altogether? I am not so experienced with ODIN
you need all files. pit file, pda, modem & csc. I also found that although a lot of people recommended Odin 1.3 (?? not sure) I found this got stuck & I used 1.85(??not sure but I think 1.85) with no issues.
K I found something here, I'm going to try it now. Will update you with news afterwards
Problem solved.

after many trials, i used boot.tar.md5 for BL and succesfully got back rooted on 4.3, however, i cant make phone calles, text messages are fine though, and hte screen, of course, works great . i rooted 4.3 then i followed your step for rooted 4.3 to 4.4.2 and i succefully installed it and the touch screen is not reponding, not at all, but only with one touch to unlock it, and after unlock, i cant do nothing. and most of the time i cant even unlock it. i am fine with rooted 4.3 or unrooted whatever, i jsut need a phone badly... please help me. when i try to make a phone call, after i pressed "call" nothing happens, the phone froze, yet people im dialing can receive the phone call, just that they cnat hear me.
(im not sure if this is a stupid question , but will there be an ODIN restore for 4.4.2? if yes, how long will it be released? i think the fact i cant make phone calls actually contributed by the wrong bootloader, (or i might be wrong). thanks a lot man, i know you're great! really appreaciate your work on rooting 4.3)
Hello,
I purchased a Galaxy S5 SM G900A (AT&T) whose previous owner supposedly only wanted to upgrade it to Android 5.0 and then stopped working. According to him, the phone was working properly before trying to upgrade it.
I have tried almost I have found and searched here and other sites, but it seems that anything is working. I think the phone is dead.
As a last resource, I have ordered a JIG, and should have it early next week. Do you think this can help?
Please see attached images for your reference, and would appreciate if someone can help me to confirm if this can be solved or not.

There's a type of .tar do you need to flash on Odin.. I did the same damn thing that you did ..you could talk to the Samsung and see if they'll replace it since it is a hardware feature .. I'll see if I can find something to help you out ..because I've been looking at this place for like 2 weeks now
