Quick question,
I got the invite from the Moto Forums for the AT&T soak test for my X. About two hours after I verified my imei and completed the sign up, my 3.5mm jack went out. I had to swap the device and now my imei is different from what I registered with them.
Does anyone know if there is a way to update this information with Moto or not?
Thanks

Nope. You can't update the info. You could try to re-register though.

Does Motorola do these same tests for Verizon phones or just AT&T?

Hmm...Way around the super delayed Verizon updates or do they not start the soak tests until Verizon does their "thorough" testing?
Did anybody receive a test update for AT&T. I signed up but never received an update after that.

I think they do the soak after Verizon is finished. Typically the update is released within days after completion of the soak.

It hasnt been released as far as i know.
i dont think they have even started the process for a soak test afaik
That is what I figured, good ole slow verizon. Can you pull the APK from another carrier for the camera? Would that work?

From what i hear, apk won't work. Will have to wait for the VZW OTA.
I called to complain about some issues with my X and asked about the update and they have the update version as the current version for the phone, but if you buy one, you still have to wait for the update. They say that Motorola is the one holding the update due to a staged rollout depending on when you bought the phone. Not sure i believe that.
Yea... i dont have a link handy but one of the android sites has a quote from Motorola basically saying it's Verizon's fault now, not theirs.

And Verizon blames moto and refuses to acknowledge that the update exists

Lol yes. Not surprised but still pissed. I guess VZW has to make sure all the bloat is in tact and exploits are "gone" before they release. Siiiigh.

How do these OTA updates not "leak"? Surely someone, somewhere has it.

I've read nothing nor heard anything relating to a Verizon Moto X update. Not even as much as speculation that Verizon may be prepping the update.
wah.... I am wanting that update badly for the camera.....

On average how far behind is Verizon usually compared to other carriers? Like not exaggerating, literally multiple months or just a few weeks to a month?

Usually months 2-4. Look how far after a new device is released on all carriers and then verizon gets it 4 months later.

That's ridiculous. They better watch out once the other carriers get their LTE coverage out to full capacity. Verizon might be on to 5G or LTE-A but there will be a lot of content people getting newer phones and faster updates on the other carriers even if original LTE is "old".
Verizon isn't always that far behind with updates but with the Moto X update I will admit this is getting a bit ridiculous.
remember that verizon also is prob going to patch the camera for X/Ultra/Maxx/Mini at the same time... i work for an indirect verizon retailer and have a good relationship with 2 motorola reps. the patch is coming as far as they have told me.. just waiting for verizon to finalize on all four devices. TMo/ATT/Sprint have one device.. Verizon has 4 LOL. Patience grasshoppers.. patience.
If thats the case then I love that they are holding up 1 phone that could have 2 core issues resolved just so they can update 4 devices at once......
I bought my T-Mobile Moto X back in October direct from Motorola. I have had ongoing battery drain issues and as a last ditch effort I figured I would do a factory reset. Since I'm doing that I was going to unlock the bootloader and be ready for root on 4.4.2.
I ran through the motorola bootloader check online 3 times. I've punched in the long code 6 different time and I keep getting told my phone is not able to be unlocked.
Am I missing something? Any idea why I might be having this problem?
I bought T-Mobile for this reason and now it seems moto won't allow it.
Thanks.

If you entered the codes generated by your phone correctly into Moto's web site, then call Moto. Some have found that Moto hasn't entered their phone into the database right yet. It takes anywhere from 24 to 48 hours usually, but since its been months, there is definitely something wrong or missed so calling them will be your best bet.

OK, I sent them an email with an attachment of a screen shot showing my code. I'll wait and see what they say then call if needed.

I just thought I would give a follow up to my post.
I went through level 1,2, and 3 support. I was told it must be a DE phone (even when their own website clearly says different) to unlock. Level 3 finally asked to to post on the Moto X forum as the software engineers monitor it and they would help me.
So now I wait.......

Thanks just posted my issue! also you boot loader people should post in the Motorola forums. It seems to get actual Motorola attention.
I think everybody here already knows this, but the non-DE T-Mobile bootloader is indeed unlockable. I've done it with 4 different T-Mobile Xs. None of which were dev editions.
It's a travesty and it's inexcusable that high level tech support at Motorola would say otherwise. Ridiculous.

So I got the update notification like an hour ago, and I accepted it, then I cancelled it by mistake when I wanted to click the notification below it. Now when I check for updates my phone claims it's up to date, does anyone have a similar issue?
The phone is completely unlocked Global GSM Version and I'm not connected to a US Cellular service, everything comes directly from motorola.
Thanks peeps.

I'm glad to hear the G4 is purportedly going straight to Android M 6.0 from 5.1. Based on the expected November release of Marshmallow, what kind of time frame should we expect for an LG and eventually T-Mobile update for our G4's this time around?
Like any other carrier... Probably 2017 when" N" is released.. Lol... Seriously.

Probably Q1 2016 at the earliest, personally I'm going back to either a Nexus 6 (they;'ll be easy to get and cheap) or the new Nexus 5 2015 simply for M..
Plus the trade-off of root. Most likely I am switching until then.
Good news on the M update. Looks close to coming out. Any delays will be on T-Mobile as LG already made the ROM.

Anyone heard any rumors on when T-mobile is planning on completing this update? I know we have the t-mobile page but it still says MFG development.
Gotta be mobile posted an article on 1/4 saying it was expected before 1/10 from T-mobile, but I haven't heard that anywhere else. It certainly isn't imminent.

Wow.. this is the very first time I've seen any mentions of a date of any kind. I'm not sure how credible they are, since I've never actually heard of this site.
I've been tweeting with @TmobileUSA and seems like they are clueless. I asked when can we expect and got a reply saying "still in manufacturer development" I told them LG released it over a month ago and Sprint already rolled out the MM update and simply shushed me away by saying "we don't have any information regarding the update"
So don't bother asking their "friendly reps" they have outdated information.
That being said, I can only hope soon since T-Mobile is the first carrier in US announced that they will update the phone, it would be embarrassing if they release after all other carriers have it.

shows that my phone is up to date. no MM for my H811 just yet.
Sprint G4 has 6.0, and US Cellular got 6.0 this week.... maybe soon.
I read somewhere that the new update is messing with WiFi calling features on TMO. Not sure if accurate info or not.

So my phone recently upgraded itself to .49 without me telling it to. I'd here any way to downgrade it to .44? I was planning to unlock it but hadn't gotten around to it. Thanks!
No.

Hate to be pessimistic, but don't be so sure. Took a year to find the first exploit when Sunshine devs were actively looking. Best bet is to sell it on Swappa and buy another that does not have the "49" OTA trojan horse Verizon update.

Right. Verizon could easily allow Motorola to unlock the bootloaders. Verizon is the one who demands Motorola lock it down and keep it locked down.
The identical Quark to the Droid Turbo, the U.S. Moto Maxx XT1250, same FCC ID, same Verizon bands, etc. runs just fine on Verizon with an activated Verizon SIM card and has an easily unlockable bootloader via the Motorola website. It's sort of the "dev" version of the Droid Turbo XT1254, but only comes in 32GB. No 64GB available.
But it's identical in every way. People have even flashed Droid Turbo stock ROM over it.
Point is, Verizon is to blame. They want to own and control your phone, no matter what.
