Anyone else had this problem? It would drop to 1% even when a sec ago it was at 66% life..reboot temp fix but only to drop back to 1%.. this is on the latest version Slimbean HD. Also i had this ROm working fine for the first few months without this error but for some reason its just now happening and becoming more frequent
Have the same, BATT will drop to 1% and sometimes recover. I think my battery is defective.

I am having the exact same problem. Anyone have any other options other than RMA? I would prefer not to RMA mine as I am not sure it is still in under warranty.
They have a one year warranty. And they came out about a year ago. So unless you bought it when they first arrived, it probably is still in warranty.

Are people still having this issue?
I purchased two 32gb nook hd + and installed Kitkat. Both have this issue where the battery suddenly drops to 1%. Then after a little bit it shuts down. Then I have to plug it in to get it back up. Once it boots up the battery shows where it is.
Now, if I reboot as soon as it drops to 1% (but not yet shutdown) it will show the accurate charge level for the battery.
Another note: This happens to the two 32GB nook HD+ we have. The two 16GB nook hd+ are not affected. All are using cyanogenmod.

Out of curiosity, are you charging both the 32GB and the 16 GB units similarly? That is, do you charge them all every day (whether they need it or not) or do you wait on all of them to get to 15%, etc.?
Current conventional wisdom is that it's better to top off a Li-ion battery frequently than to let it discharge a lot and then charge it back up. So it'd be interesting to know what charging schedule those who are having this 1% problem are having.

Well I've taken care of my Nook very well I've rooted it from the easy auto rooter then phiermod now I'm running the newest CM7 for about a month but now it doesn't charge i've tried different chargers and I turn it off with about 30% I don't know it its the rim I'm using or if it's become a paper weight I was just wondering if any of you has this problem and fixed it

The Nook has problems charging from anything but the included cable and adapter. Use those.

The Nook's charger is abit Flimsy and if you're not careful it can break in some way, shape, or form. I'm on my 3rd replacement cable(each one broke in a unique way). Thankfully B&N will send you a free replacement. Just call the Nook Support Number and order a replacement (Must be to a US address). Make sure if they ask that you tell them you got it from B&N even if you didn't, just in case.

He may not be so far off the mark. I had the same problem, the first time my nook would not charge it was because the USB cable had died, and the NC would not register it. The second time though happened with CM7, under CM7 the NC would not charge, yet when I restored it to stock 1.3 it charged fine and fast.
There may be a problem with the code to charge the NC in CM7. When it did charge it was slow, then it just stopped charging all together. I have reverted back to a rooted stock rom, so that the thing will charge.
Hi everyone, I've experienced a problem in these last days.
Using google I found a guy who had my same problem, as it appears in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZQ-hbAClvE&feature=player_embedded
Never happened before I changed battery (I had the one given with the note, but last week I put another one of the two I bought, always by Samsung). One should be actually damaged because it gave me not only this problem, but several messages on screen like "battery disconnected". With the other one I started using today everything was fine until it arrived to 11% - it's not reliable though because I didn't make in time to calibrate the battery - and then it start flickering and shutted down.
Anybody know anything about this?!
I also have the same problem, I've read that should be normal, and it does not occur with some batteries. It should be due to the power supply

so there's nothing to worry about? because it happened to me 3 times and twice the Note asked me to change the time, since it was resetted to 1/1/2000... and it didn't sound normal to me :/
I saw this, too, just before my Note had major filesystem corruption. I can't think of any other reason for it. I wrote it all up over in the Q&A section.

Not adding a solution, just more info for diagnosis: My phone gets this when I'm down to 2% and using a cheapo gold battery off eBay. So maybe battery-quality is something to do with it.
As far as I know, it doesn't happen when I use the official battery.
Scared me the first few times, but it's happened five times and not damaged my Note in any way (although naturally I turn it off, give it a minute, and then start charging it back up).
well, I really hope this has nothing to do with battery quality because I bought them as ORIGINAL batteries! but they could be fake though, that's why it would be interesting to check some kind of serial to let us know if they're official or just fakes. In this case I would ask for the refund and use the old battery...
about the file system corruption, could be the battery the cause of that? because until the day I've used my original battery I haven't experienced any of these issues, so that's why I relate the battery to the problem of flickering... and that's why I don't absolutely want this junk to power my Note!
I didn't had that problem until I switched to Hydracore kernel. Now it flickers violently even under 20 % battery.

Same here.i bought my galaxy about 2 weeks ago.so its fresh. Most of the time when battry drops to 2 or 1% the screen colors going weird and finally a flashing of screen then boom going off.
Its abviously from battry voltage.
Dont forget the screen is amoled.this behavior might be from this kind of technology.
Anyway nothing wrong here so far....

Same here. I have two Hyperion batteries and the screen flickers when the battery is about to die. I've noticed it also does this on the OEM battery as well.
Didn't do this on Gingerbread just on ICS.

Moved To Q&A
Its a question, so belongs in the Q&A section.
Your Note would flicker because it's trying to get more juice out on a a battery that is almost about to ran out...
Moreover, a cheapo replacement battery or an original one that has been wrongly calibrated before would also have this kind of a symptom.

I'm sorry, you're right... thanks for moving the post, I'll be more careful!
I don't get it:
Yesterday night the phone was in airplane mode with a 60-70% charge.
This morning the phone is dead, and I needed to charge it again; after 10 minutes I switched on the device and... voilà, the battery level is 50%. WTF?!
I think I'll stay a couple of days more with this battery and then go back with my old one, asking the seller for a refund for both batteries.
Flickers on mine too.
I assumed it was normal.
Ye isnt it normal?

My N7000 battery just died with the same symptoms. Damn, I hate samsung! :crying:
I can barely hear the sound of PWM charger for 5 seconds, and then just popping sound for about a minute-three! It's a dead cycle
i also experience that problem when i bought a new battery..but after few days it was gone..
suggest getting your note to service center better.
I'm putting away my nook hd+ till xmas, going to give it to my 9 year old son for xmas. I was wondering what should I do with the battery before putting it into storage.
Drain the battery fully, or leave it fully charged?
Thanks

I read where it should be 50%. That is the way it comes from B&N.

50% is good. Worst thing you can do is leave it with depleted battery for long time...
If it's already turned once you might want to charge at least once a month and discharge to 40 or 10 then recharge to 40~50
Put my Nook (HD Plus) away last night had about 75% battery left. Woke up this morning it wouldn't turn on. I thought it had crashed so tried all the tricks to get it back on nothing worked so I said to heck with it plugged it in went and shaved, took a shower, and got dressed. Came back it started right up showing 6% battery. I looked in settings the thing with the most battery use is screen with 1 hour and 43 minutes. So no idea what caused the battery to die. Do you guys think it is a bad battery? This is a replacement for the Nook I dropped never had this on my old one. I had CM 10.2 m1 on it as I was playing with the different touch kernels to see any improvement and I know they don't work on the latest version. If it is a m1 issue that is OK I can switch I am not invested in it but if it is a bad battery I want to restore stock and return it before the grace period is over.

Probably just an app that turned on your screen. I would not worry about it unless it happens more times.

Seems like my phone is dying randomly, this morning it was at 28% I was sending a couple of pictures on WhatsApp guess what the phone died. When I connected the phone to charger and turned on after 2 mins it was at 11%
Can someone help me trouble shoot this issue

As others have said, get a new battery. I was having this problem a few months ago. As soon as i replaced my battery it hasn't happened ONCE since.
Here's a link to a cheap GREAT quality battery :
Galaxy Note 4 Battery, Anker 3220mAh Li-ion Battery for Samsung Galaxy Note 4 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PTVUWRQ/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_gDaowb0FXZW19

This happened to me too. It is 99.9% a battery problem.
Unfortunately, I was in the 0.1% where even a new battery made my phone restart randomly.
Maybe it just my bad luck that the second battery was bad on arrival. But I didn't want to take any chances.
I have requested a warranty replacement from T-Mobile.
I've had this same problem for the last few months and tried three replacement batteries, two cheap oems off eBay and one pricey mofo off the Samsung site. No avail, from what I've read this might also be a bug in lollipop that you'll just have to wait out even though it's infuriating.
I was having the same problem i have insurance with t-mobile they sent me a replacement battery haven't had the problem since. definitely get it replaced.
same here. original battery that came with the phone most of the time dies at around 30%, i got a replacement battery (battery & charge kit from samsung, used that 50% off coupon you get after registering device) a few months after getting the phone and that 1 drains down normally. i may get a replacement battery through tmo insurance.
I had the same problem to called T-Mobile to get a replacement. They told me they don't replace batteries, had to go through Samsung to get a replacement battery.
Was wondering if your phones were hot when they died? Have a N910T3 which went dark at least 3 times recently. Had to pull battery before I could turn on again. Troubleshooting now.
Also seeing an intermittent SD card unmount issue which I fixed by wedging a piece of paper to increase pressure on the contact pins. Haven't had a reboot so far.
