Hi guys, i have a question, I will go tu buy a XPERIA SP (FACTORY FREE, without any brand), and i want no know if there is a posibblity of they come with ALLOW UNLOCK BOOTLOADER: NO.
Thanks for your answers.
Yes there is the possibility
My phone was like that, I bought it SIM Free and discovered that it showed NO.
After a few mods and rooting attempts, magically it changed to Yes. But remember that you will lose DRM keys, BRAVIA Engine may worke but other GPS functions will stop working forever, right now there's no need to unlock the bootloader. There arent any good kernels/roms...

¿Do you remember which mods have you made?
¿Which version are u using?
Sounds rare... I am trying, but nothing... I would like to use the Cm and the KK, but my Sp is locked, and there is no way to have this option...

That was MONTHS ago. I just flashed a newer ftf and it became "unlocked". I think it was just a bug.

Simple my friend... It's because i want to enter into program services across the QPST becuase most of the roms are 2G. and i have 4G service. I use to give service as AP to my lappy on the way, so i will need to cook my own CM with the KK and all the KK are working well with ULB, not with LB... (And most of them in 2G only). Or come back again to the 3G Samsungs...
The key is to alow the bootloader unlock to yes to be with Sony. That's the shame... The air supplier gave me this for my job...
The QPST is a very powerfull tool but only works on the SP with unlocked bootloaders. It's not a simple question of to be root or not. It's a question of to take advantage of the services. 3G is slow, 2G it's impossible for me... No way... 4G is the best... 51Mbps is not 1,5 Mbps... The access to the server by remote takes me 1 hour by instalation of the Wimax access with the 2G... With 4G i make only 10 minutes... (Anyway, also has a high cost, but life is too short).
I will have to wait to have some solution for the bootloader permission... That's life...
(But if you find the version with that bug, will help too much).

So basically someone (I don't know who, I was drunk, I thought it was a joke but no one has come forward) has set a pin on my phone and I can no longer use the thing.
I just want to be able to make phone calls again.
Is there anyway to factory reset my Sony Xperia Z1f without knowing the pin? What are my options basically?
Thanks,
Alex.
Go to Sony Service or the Store where you bought it, they will reset your phone a think for free.

I was hoping to be able to use it this weekend *sigh*
Do I need the receipt/box or something? I bought it from a small importing company who have told me I will need to mail the thing to Sony at my own expense as the nearest service center is a 10 hour drive.
So there is literally no way for me to unlock my phone short of how ever many weeks it takes Sony to mail it back to me?
It's like the shop where I bought mine, they said I got Manufacturer Warranty so I will have to send the phone to Sony, but actually when I call them they will do this for me. Go there and ask them or call them.
Factory Reset the device with PC Companion.
It doesn't ask for a PIN when I just tried now.. I needed to FR mine for the 4.3 update, so I tested it for you

Sorry what is PC Companion? Can you please post a little more info, would be super grateful. I have not been active on these forums in quite some time and am out of the loop haha
Also, I tried following this guide...
http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/instructions
But I can't access the service menu on my phone from the emergency dialer like many YouTube videos show.
Why might this be?
Pc companion is a program for your Pc where u connect your phone and you can do loads of things like reset update etc...is made by Sony so just do a lil Google search and download it... Or go on Sony website

This have nothing to do with your problem, it's for Unlocking Bootlader not the phone. If you do this, you will lose your warranty.
Go via PC Companion.

Ok I got PC Companion and figured it out and have updated my phones software to the latest version.
But now after reading through these forums I think I would like to flash a custom ROM, however looking in the service menu my phone says that bootloader unlock is not allowed.
Is there someway to still unlock my bootloader and flash a custom rom?

No, if Unlock Bootloader Allowed say NO you can't unlock it, but you can flash custom roms with stock kernels and also root your phone. Unlock Bootlader is needed to flash custom kernels only.
Hello.
Im abit new to the forum but here goes.
Ive read tons of posts everywhere and there aint any exact answers anywhere to find.
In the past ive never known about the TA and DRM so happy as i am i just unlocked the bootloader on all the phones and still happy. The latest phone is the Xperia Z1. It has been abit buggy to say the least but im hoping software updates will cure this.
Anyway, i rooted my phone and unlocked the bootloader on the .681 firmware and now i am on .757 firmware. Using Doomlords kernel. I thought id check if i could backup my TA partition after unlocking the bootloader. And from what ive read its suppose to be wiped when you unlock the bootloader.
Well it was no problem backing up the TA partion. All files were there and it came out with no errors. So the question, how is this possible ?
I posted this same thing in General, sorry for that but i posted it here now so if a moderator finds this post in general then please delete it.

If you Unlocked your Bootloader without Backup TA (DRM keys) first, then your DRM Keys are lost forever and you can Backup TA how much you want but there is no DRM Keys at all. The application to Backup TA do not give errors because you can backup partitions with or without DRM Keys, in the case you want switch between Locked and Unlocked Bootloader.
So long story short, you don't have DRM Keys, your warranty is lost forever, you cannot Update via OTA,PC Companion or SUS.

dunno if the previous author saw what i wrote in my post but when i relocked my Xperia V using flashtool i could update with the pc companion or sony update or whats it called nowdays
And funny thing is, i actually have a case at Sony about this phone since i do have some issues with it but i think thats software related since ppl have been getting all sorts of errors from the KitKat firmwares. But i said how it was that i have unlocked bootloader and all that and she replied that my warranty was still valid and i could send it in for them to test it.
And i need to say this. Since sony posts an official way on their webpage, for ANYONE to read about how to unlock the bootloader and they also supply the code for unlocking it. Then i think it shouldnt affect the phone in any way or brake the warranty. (Sure it does say something about that, but all aint reading stuff like that). So if a developer wanted to unlock the phone. Why not have them contacting sony instead.
And surley, DRM keys (i just think sony shouldnt even bother having them) can be put back in if you let Sony do it. They put it there in the first place you know. And in the lovely electronic world we live in we all know that, if Sony can put thoose there, anyone could do it with the knowhow. But since the keys dont really mean anything, not that ive noticed you could really think about what use they actually do. And Sony knows that if ppl cant have the phone it was meant to be even with a unlocked bootloader, they will probably get some other phone or just whine hard enough so that Sony makes a software where everything works the same way with locked or unlocked. Camera stopped to work if you unlocked before 4.3 right ? What can you read about that like everywhere ? Loads of whining and Sony released a software that works just as good with locked or unlocked.
God damn this became a long post. So with this said im just saying. Why even bother in the first place having DRM keys if the rules dont apply anyway ? An everyday user doesent even need them either, he or she doesent even know what rooting or unlocking is anyway. And the ones that do know about it, also know about how to whine to get sony to fix the errors wich an unlock will produce

Hi guys, I'm trying to unlock my S3 Mini and I'm having no luck so far. I've managed to root the phone using the iRoot (former Vroot) program and it worked nicely. At least it seems it did, now it does ask me to give su eprmissions to allpications and busybox is installed.
As for the unlocking itself, I tried several methods. Firstly, there was some service menu, accessible by a long string of numbers on the dialer, then going to network lock menu and setting something there, but the menu isn't there. Or better said, when I come to the Network Lock, it says only Not Active and no further options available. Then I tried the GalaxSim Unlock just to see, but as it said in the notes, this version of phone is not supported and so it didn't work. Same with another app, Galaxy S Unlock, or something like that. That one needs busybox, so I installed the 1.22 I think, but it says that there is a problem with busybox or something. It does say in the notes, that recommended is 1.17 busybox, so I keep that as a backup hope but it seems again, that the phone is not supported...
So basically, I have a rooted S3 Mini, that is still locked to T-mobile. I'm not sure, whether the country of origin matters here, but I think it was purchased in Austria (I am not the first owner) and need to unlock it for slovak O2. So far I am actually very happy with it's stock ROM, so I'm not planning to flash it completely, just sim unlock. So if anyone has any idea, what I can do to avoid going to a phone service and have it done for money, I'd appreciate it.

Have you tried repairing your ZR using Sony PC companion? Have you unlocked bootloadter by official or unofficial method without backing up DRM keys and TA partitions?

I am not able to understand the words like carpetetas or recueperar? you can take your phone to local service center and ask them to see what is wrong. First take backup of your phone like contacts, sms whatsapp data etc. then visit service center. If everything is okay ( DRM Keys and TA partitions ) they will flash latest 4.4.4
If yiu didnvt unlocked the bootloader then try to install arom for ur region but if u unblocked bootloader i think you have lost ta partition so the imei doesn't show up when u call *06#
I think so too. May be you have unlocked bootloader without backing up TA partition and DRM keys thats why you are not able to upgrade your phone to version 4.3 or 4.4.2 or 4.4.4.
There was same question some time back. Someone unlocked bootloader without backing up and now stuck on 4.1.2. Sony refused to help as he lost warranty of the phone by unlocking. He had no knowledge about unlocking and warranty.

Frankly speaking, I do not understand non-English words that frequently appears in your posts. Having that said, I can pretty much grasp the gist from your posts, although that may not be 100% what you intend to mean. Combined with answers by previous forum members, i offer you suggestions to your problems point by point.
Okay enough of this bull****. First I want to say that if you are unfamiliar with things here on XDA, read the guidelines before you do anything. You probably unlocked the bootloader of your phone, but did not backup anything. In that case, you HAVE to install a kernel everytime you try to switch rom (including a stock-based, or stock for that matter). Your numerous problems above suggests a kernel problem to me. What you do now is to follow UB way to flash a AOSP or whatever rom (not stock) and report if it solved your problems

Friend regret that I can not understand what I write, I apologize, also thanks for your help, I'll do what you recommended me, be installing a kernel or room cooked AOSP, I have installed the root in the only version that works on my ZR which is 4.1.2, then be installing the Recovery to test a kernel or room. Could you tell me which room should I install? You can give me the links? Thanks in advance for your help

Amigo antes de flashear una room CM11 o Aosp debo abrir el Bootloader?
I had kept my bootloader unlocked for flashing new ROMs but unfortunately i lost it on train and now i can understand that the theif can easily flash a new rom and so i can never retrive my device as far as i understood that i have to keep my bootloader locked but this means that i have to unlock and relock my bootloader each time i want to flash a new rom so this is very problematic for losing internal data too every time.
Also i don't have a job else i would have brought a new OP3T. I hope that in future OP can introduce some hardwire based tracking for lost devices , what do you people suggest?

I suggest that if the thief is able to flash a new ROM, he will be perfectly able to open the bootloader. So I recommend that you do not worry about having the bootloader open.
As for the tracking system, I think Google has already developed certain functions aimed at this use. When I have time I will investigate about this topic and update this post.
Please, be awere.

Try Google device manager. Thats the tracking tool you searching for. ?
not a big deal to reset FRP. Samsung and LG FRP takes only few minutes to be removed with z3x box. i think even stock rom have some bugs to bypass FRP. Best way is not to loose your phone.
It won't help you now, but take a screenshot of your imei, then back it up to your photos. If your phone is lost or stolen report it and depending on what country you live in, it will be black listed. Then it won't work on any carrier, no matter which rom is flashed.

Ya I know that I have already submitted FIR in police with the IMEI number but I believe these days they remove all the parts and sell the parts differently so very less chance in recovery
