Hey guys ive got a brand new htc one thats running 4.1.2. 1.26 firmware. For some reason I cannot enable lte. When I enter the *#*#4636#*#* menu and select gsm/wcdma/lte auto it will immediately switch back to wcdma auto. I know my sim card supports lte because my htc one xl gets lte. Anyone know how to fix this?

Have you tried removing and re-inserting the sim card? If your APN settings were somehow wrong, that could default the phone to WCDMA. If it still isn't showing up, you could always manually set your APN, and then try to enable LTE. Aside from that, make sure your MID (model id) supports LTE. If it does, then I would contact HTC either for support or a replacement.
So, got HTC One M7 801n 32GB (PN0710000).
In Settings-etwork I don't have LTE option, only WCDMA/GSM, however, in Bearer I see LTE. I know this option is disabled in most branded phones, but mine is generic (HTC_001) and it comes SIM free (not locked). Is this option affected with SIM and/or APN settings?
Sorted :
In APN settings deleted proxy, kept just APN and all other fields left blank, reboot and all ok.

Sorry, how do I check the APN settings? And what other information do you need?
model number is HTC One 801e
access point names:
internet.globe.com.ph
APN doesn't have anything to do with the availability of LTE in your phone. It's the phone itself.
Some HTC One variants don't have any LTE radios in their unit hence you can't see any LTE options.
And by the way 801e variant don't have LTE... 801n is the one with LTE.

APN is just a configuration for your phone to be able to connect to your network's internet gateway hence it's called Access Point Name While network mode is an option you can set to your phone to tell which radios it will activate.
Activating the LTE radio on your phone enables the phone to accept LTE signals but APN is also required.
you could consider the APN as a pass or invitation in real life situation whereas you are not allowed to enter/access without an invitation.
Is there a way for me to have an LTE signal?
I contacted the seller, and they're insisting that they sold me an LTE capable unit.
I asked for a replacement unit that's LTE capable, but they might just force this one..
To check:
Go to the dialer and enter;
*#*#4636#*#*
Click on Phone Information
Scroll down to Set preferred network type and check if LTE is an option

I tried this:
Set preferred network type: GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto
But going back to Settings > Mobile data / Mobile Network Settings > Network Mode
LTE still not in the options list
Dont think you can force the option from here without the correct APN settings and a valid network supporting LTE.
There are two models in HTC One.
First one is HTC One 801e which is only 3g compatible and is exclusive to Taiwan and the other one is HTC One 801s which is 4g compatible which is for rest of the world.
First you check your CID.If your CID is HTC_621 then your phone is only 3g compatible.
To check your CID download (Cid getter) from play store.

is my phone faulty?

Hi guys,
I need some help understanding if my phone i faulty. I have an HTC ONE 801n sim free UK and when I go to Settings > Mobile data / Mobile Network Settings > Network Mode I don't see the GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto line. I spoke with HTC and they told me I need to have a 4G sim card for that line to appear witch at the moment I don't have it to try. Can someone confirm that HTC is telling me is true? Can someone try a non 4g sim and check if the GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto appear in Settings > Mobile data / Mobile Network Settings > Network Mode? just because I am still in time for an exchange. Thanks!!!
Edit:
After 53 Views looks like no one wants to help me!!! what you just need to do is going to: Settings > Mobile data / Mobile Network Settings > Network Mode and if you are using a 3g non 4g sim card check if you can see the setting: GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto. That's all. Thanks!!
Anyone??? Please!!!
AFAIK only 801e models do not support LTE. Anything else does, just different LTE frequencies. Got any friends with LTE sims you could borrow? Some iPhone buddies or Samsung people.

No, I don't know no one with a 4g sim!! that's why I was hoping someone with my same phone could try a 3g sim and see if he doesn't have that setting like me (GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto). Anyone? Thanks!!

This happened to me a few months ago. The phone is definitely capable and you will get LTE signals on the $60/month GoPhone plan.
1. First of all, call GoPhone customer support (611 from the phone) and confirm that they have your HTC One whitelisted for LTE. They're going to double check with you your phone's IMEI number (they can already see it, but will ask you for it anyway), and then confirmed that the phone is allowed to get LTE signals. They're also going to double check your APN setting and provide you with the appropriate entries for AT&T.
2. Reboot and see if you now get LTE signals. If you still don't get it, check whether your mobile network settings is set to GSM/WCDMA/LTE Auto instead of GSM/WCDMA Auto or WCDMA Preferred (or maybe something else). If you don't see any LTE option, dial *#*#4636#*#* from your dialer, and in the first drop down box choose 'GSM/WCDMA/LTE Auto' or anything with LTE just to make sure you can catch LTE signals at all. If you were able to find and switch to the setting you want, exit out, and go back to that menu, double checking if the setting sticks. If it does, reboot and try again.
3. Most people will get LTE signals after #1 above, while some were only able to get it after #2. However if you are unlucky like me, the LTE setting does not show up in mobile network and no matter what I do in the hidden menu, the setting won't stick (it's stuck on GSM/WCDMA Auto). I actually tried flashing a different radio at this point (a newer AT&T radio), but still... no LTE for me. What solved this finally for me is that I flashed a custom ROM (in my case it was ARHD 12.2). This enabled me to choose GSM/WCDMA/LTE Auto under mobile network settings, and after that I was able to get LTE. It was great! :good:
Hopefully that helps. Good luck!
I have a HTC One M8 sprint that i bought on Ebay, i have no problem to make and receive calls after i unlocked it but there is no mobile internet.
My APN Settings is correct, however i only have the option of bearer: LTE or eHRPD or Unspecified
When i search for networks on my normal phone i always get two options:
Movistar 2G
Movistar 3G
Vodafone 2G
Vodafone 3G
and the other networks here.
On the HTC that i sim unlocked i only get:
Movistar
Vodafone
Orange
There is no indication on if it is 2G or 3G.
*#*#4636#*#*
Have set it at GSM Auto PRL and restarted the phone, i have also tried all other network types without success.
Under Phone Info i get Current Network Movistar
GPRS Disconnected (Cant seem to activate that)
GSM: In Service
Network Type: Unknown
I have tried different radios, but no one has worked and they all end up with the phone entering a loop where it restarts and cant recognice the SIM card.
Mobile Network Settings:
Network mode: GSM/UMTS Only
Allow GSM Data: Ticked the box
Is there anyone who has been in the same situation and who has found a solution?
I have seen a number of posts where people say that they cant get data but calls is working, but the only resolution that people has offered is to set the GSM Auto PRL and restart the phone, that has not worked for me.
Very happy for any help that you can give!
Thanks

Greetings, im sure this is a common issue that ive seen, i received a HTC One M7 Sprint, it is sim unlocked BUT... can't select GSM/UMTS mode, it reverts to last used mode (if lte/cdma was selected and I choose gsm/umts, it reverts to lte/cdma...)
Is a NV problem, or radio problem? can be corrected?
Thanks a lot!

I've seen problems like this as well.. try flashing a custom Sense ROM and see if that solves your problem.

You have to override the network connection, assuming you are "sim-unlocked"
open the dial pad type *#*#4636*#*#
Tap "Phone Information"
scroll down to "Set preferred network Type:" & select one of the GSM options from the drop down menu
Check the GSM Service is "In Service"; if not repeat the last step and select another option
Goto Settings > Mobile Data> select GSM
Goto Available GSM Networks, it will attempt to connect and probably fail to find service providers, you can keep trying manually or select "don't ask again" and redo -GSM network provider will eventually popup
select the GSM network
goto Access Point names
edit access point to carrier
Doing the last parts from memory since I've removed my GSM SIM (Family Mobile) and GSM stuff won't show up on my settings
recently i have done with that. Im currently looking if it can be done with HTC Desire 816 (to convert to gsm, since it carries with cdma system). Maybe can be done, maybe not
