Hi.
Does anybody use an gamepad made for android devices? I'd love to play some old games for PSX but also I don't like using buttons on the screen. I just replaced my old Xperia Play with Xperia Z and already am missing physical buttons...
How about MOGA or Gametel? Will Xperia Z fit in them? Or maybe someone knows even better gamepads?
Dualshock 3, working excellent for me. Using the sixaxis controller app. Haven't tried it using the official Sony app though.

Well, DualShock 3 is working very well, but I'm interested in gamepads that can be connected to the phone. Just like MOGA.

What's the benefit of this over a Dualshock controller other than that connecting clip/stand? I mean, I understand the frustration of trying to find a place to rest the phone while playing, but is there any other benefit?

Moga has a Xbox-like controller setup, people who use Xbox 360 controllers more often would prefer this as they are more used to it. Others prefer dualshock for the same reason - they are used to the controls.
As for me, I just got my MOGA Pro last Saturday and I can say that it makes gaming a whole lot easier. the only thing I actually feel quite annoyed is the fact that the clip is going over my power and volume buttons, it can be a pain if you want to lock your phone or even change the volume since you would need to pull the clip to release the grip onto your phone then you can press a button then you need to let go of the clip so it snaps firmly back in place. Sometimes, the power button can accidentally get triggered by the clip.
I just uploaded a mini-review of the gameklip, you guys can check it out below:

For those who've used the DualShock 3 with the Z, is there a way to connect w/o a special USB-OTG cord or rooting? Like, could I connect both to my laptop with the individual usb cords they came with, instead of buying another new one?
Sorry if this is considered a hijack...
The only cable you'll need is USB-otg cable to connect it for the first time. If you're running 4.2.2 it'll be the only thing you'll have to do.

The native Sony implementation requires you to have a USB OTG cable or a mini USB to micro USB cable to pair the DS3 with the Z.
If you're rooted however you can use the Sixaxis controller app to pair without the need for a USB OTG cable.
Dual Shock 3 is the best.. waiting for cheap chinese gameklip

I use the moga pro and once you figure out gamekeyboard it works just as good if not better than ps3 controller but I'm sure others would disagree,
Just needs more support from big game devs like more gameloft games and I would love glu games to be supported, but it's only going to get better as game devs support more controllers and HID, love playing DS games with my moga though I can play all the pokemons I never played now! (using draStic)

Unofficial controllers
Hi, does anyone know if can I connect other unofficial controllers to my Xperia Z3 Compact? I dont have the original PS3 controller from Sony and I want to buy a cheaper, unofficial one.
Do you know if will it work? Do I have to do a different process to connect it?
Thanks
Hi

Hi,
I spotted in settings option which allow to connect PS3 controller to our XSP.
When I started that it ask for plug controller over usb.
I thinking maybe to buy one and use for gaming. So my question is that any one try to connect controller and how it working. Can I play games as MC4 using that?
Does it need to be connect over usb or later it is connect by Bluetooth?
My previous phone was Xperia Play and in some games I miss touchpads and separate buttons.
Thanks

You can do it using your PC and a ps3 controller usb cable (a bit hard to set up bluetooth adresses and you need to have the app) or you can just buy for a few dollars an OTG cable like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/1PC-OTG-Connect-Kit-Adapter-Converter-USB-Female-Cable-For-Samsung-Phones-Black-/130798950371?pt=AU_MobilePhoneAccessories&hash=item1e743997e3
and pair the controller to your device!

Thanks for reply but I rather looking for more information what controller actually do. I connected Wii remote and can use in emulators when map keys but no luck when using games like NOVA 3, MC 4 etc.
I wonder if it done by Sony so maybe it will be recognise by those games and allow me play without touch the screen.
I have Usb OTG adapter but as I said I don't have PS3 pad and thinking to buy one but wonder if is it worth to do that.
PS3 cost around £30 for that money I can buy something like that: http://www.mogaanywhere.com/

Hmmm ok then . But i would not suggest you buying those Sony like fake controllers they suck big time!!! I got one and it broke after 2 weeks total waste of money!!!!
You should go with the Original Sony PS3 Sixxaxis!
Anyone using sixaxis/dualshock ps3 controller, on nexus 7 which are not rooted? I have my 2nd gen and planning to buy sixaxis/ps3 dual shock controller in playing emulated games. Does it work without rooting? Thru bluetooth?
Any input is appreciated.

I think a USB OTG wire and a mini USB cable can help you if you do not have root... But I am using the Sixaxis controller app and a ps3 controller with root. Makes it all easier and wireless. Yeah I believe it uses bluetooth but does not require you to turn it on manually. The app does it for you and it has been a wonderful app especially with the touchscreen mapping.
My buddy has the moga power pro and it worked fine with his s6 and my note 5. But now wont connect to either of our s7 edges. Anyone else have this issue or a fix for it?
I have the same issue. Did you find a fix?
I had to pair mine as just a Bluetooth device first. Then use the Moga app to get it to recognize after that... but performance with it sucks. It would miss eye inputs and just run like garbage. Not sure if my controller is going bad or if the connection is that bad.
I bought a Power Pro and it works fine with my S7E. So far no problems. Connects fine after using the app the first time. I use it for PS1 emulator on setting B and it works great.

Mine connects fine on B but A is usless.
Dont use the moga app, you dont need it. A is useless for us as its used for older versions of andriod. Use B only

Mine is the Moga Pocket. So I don't have the A/B switch. (I know, I need to get a new updated one)
I don't have the Moga controller, but I do have the 8bitdo SNES gamepad. It's a great little controller that brings me back to the good old days when I used to play my mom's SNES. I would recommend it plus I might do a short review later today if anyone's interested. I can also confirm the Asus Nexus Player gamepad works perfectly for anyone that also has a Nexus Player.
