[Q] How to calibrate Samsung ek-gc 100? - Galaxy Camera Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Guys I have a problems my camera sometime doesn't focus someone told me it might need a lens calibration does anybody knows how to do this ??? Please help me out

Have you managed to find a solution for the focus problem?
I seem to have the same problem and the camera refuses to focus for a second picture until I increase of decrees the ZOOM factor for a bit. I think that this is a software problem though as I do not recall having this problem on Android 4.1.1

I had that problem as well. I think it's a setting thing. When you leave it on auto pic, the camera is trying to use the "best mode" to shoot that particular picture. When I use Expert settings and set the shutter speed, aperture, and ISO myself, not only do I get much better shots, but I no longer have that focusing problem anymore. My wife is a photog and she taught me about this stuff. =)

Unfortunately it does the same on Expert mode...

Confusing Camera?

Hey, I just got a short question:
I was playing around with the Front and BackCamera...
The backcamera needs a bright room to make suitable pictures, if it gets to dark it starts to 'lag' like hell. Hope you know what i mean ?!!
The frontcamera doesnt have such problems !! I can take pictures everywhere and the videopreview on the screen is perfectly smooth !
Who can explain me why this happens ? Is it a Softwareproblem or is it on the hardwareside? Maybe the software tries to brighten the previewimage and uses the hole cpupower??!?!
Hope anybody knows why
The back camera is a problem due to the aperture and the ammount of light that hits the lens, if you turn camera on then press power button "sleep" for 5 secs turn on it generally works, you may still need to keep the light from hitting the lens on the power button press depends on condition of light.
Thanks
Hello Stylez !
Thanks for the information and the trick with the camera.
Is this cameraproblem a problem by the HTC Camera application or is it a problem on the radiorom?
Guess it must be a radiorom problem because it would be easy to write a new camerasoftware

It's hard to say but could be hardware/driver related but never used a stock rom to comparatiize.
Like you said if software would have been eazy to correct.

Your power button trick works the same with my stock ROM although after coming back from powersaving mode the screen is noticably darker (as are any photos taken in this state). From this I take it that the whole photo or video taking process (ie the end output) requires a combination of x light intensity over y time for each frame so if one is low, the other needs to be high to compensate. It's just the same with conventional camera shutter speeds.
It won't help eratical to resolve this issue but it's simply down to design. The reason why viewing the front camera vs the back camera results in a snappier display is because the front camera is a much lower resolution raw output and it taxes the cpu/connected hardware less.

HTc HD 7 Camera Issue

Hi
Got my Hd 7 from o2 pay as you go
Am quiet happy with it, but has anyone noticed that the camera is a bit rubbish or is it jjust me
Camera snaps close up are super brilliant. but the moment you try to snap far away subjects its all blurish
Its seems to have a digital zoom which just blows up to picture to distortion
I have noticed that even the zoom function just blurs it up as well
feed back would be appreciated
It's indeed not the best WP7 camera but it's not too rubish also. It should be no more than decent (while to video recording with continued focus is ace) . Can you provide a sample so we can judge ?
There was also a pink-camera isue with an earlier HTC device (can't remember the exact model) and problem was solved with a quick update.

camera on hd7 does suck... tend to bluish every single shot unless u play with scene mode .... thats one of the reason im trying something else .. maybe focus
Hmm.. do you think that it will be possible that they release an update for this?
Not too keen on getting it if the camera is useless.
I have the awesome pink hue issue with mine... and for the other guy... the other phone with the pink problem was the HD2.
anyone know if this is just the software or is the hardware?
ive noticed too that on long distance shots its horrible on keeping focus of the picture. Though i think that maybe because metering is set to center and it cant focus in that much in the distance.
Though your every day snaps are usually ok for me. No problems with tints or anything and i find the video quality to be decent
I haven't had any problems at all with taking photos on my HD7 - no focussing issues, near or far.
Are you guys half-pressing the camera button to focus first, before pressing it the rest of the way to take the photo?
This seems to be the biggest cause of issues, people not realizing it's a two-stage shoot process, just like with digital cameras.
Note to the OP: Metering is actually light metering and has nothing to do with focussing. If you have metering set to centre, the camera will adjust the exposure according to the brightness of the object in the centre of the shot. If metering were set to "average" it would work out the brightness of the whole frame and set the exposure to that. Nowt to do with focus.
Incidentally, don't forget to ensure the lens is free of dust, fingerprints and other crud as that will obviously make your pics look mushy.
nope i always press on the first stage and let it focus and then press

[Q] Focus camera issue

Hi guys,
I am really disappointed of the camera of the XZ, because since I've tried to shoot some photos, it simply can't focus on anything. The camera behaves kind of strange, when I try to focus and shoot the photo. It makes only really smooth pictures which are very blurred. I suppose that this isn't any normal. So I wanted to ask here, if anyone in here does have the same issue and solved it somehow, or if there is someone who can tell me if it's software problem or a hardware problem. If you'd like to I can add a picture to prove it.
Thanks in advance!
You should get the phone checked out bit before you do check you are on superior auto and if it can't focus on anything tap the image to focus on a certain part like a face. See if that helps. Thank me if I have helped
Sent from my C6603 using xda app-developers app
Tell us your settings I.e. mode, focus mode, IS, ISO
problem still persists
I know about the tapping on the screen to focus, but that simply doesn't help.

I am using the auto mode. My friend uses the same settings as I do and his camera is working a lot better its sharper and clearier.
Couldn't it be an hardware issue?
Later on I will add my settings.

[Q] GC-100 Wobble/Stability after 4.1.2 upgrade?

Just wondering if anyone had stability issues with the lens/display from camera after an upgrade? there seemed to be a Camera firmware upgrade as well at the same time? since then the lens seems to be hunting to focus .. you can hear the motor/lens trying to do some work - going into manual mode and switching off stability control makes things better but auto-mode certainly has an issue
I have also noticed that the auto focus is not working as well as before the update to 4.1.2. I had quite a few situations in which it refuses to focus in good light conditions. And I could not find a good workaround for this beside a reboot.

Hi Team
Anyone noticed that the main camera has a lot focus issues on faces?
Background is on focus while the faces aren't.
Any way to upgrade Camera firmware only?
I notice focus issues on the main came that star a few days ago. To fix them, I need to shake or give some kicks to the phone in other to solve the issue...
This may be caused by some drop, however, I always use the TPU case.
Same here my phone is well protected..

How i can test for help you ? I'm on MiuiMix 26.6.23 (MIUI 12.6)
This seams a hardware problem, I have concerns if they can compensate it by software.
The issue semana to me that the focus mechanism is get stuck, maybe by the lac of power, and only some kicks help do put the lens in the right position...
Can anyone confirm about the fix for 12.5.4.
Don't think it's a hardware issue as I don't get the problem with other camera apps.. though not sure they use all the lenses

Take the Google Cam from BSG MGC_8.1.101_A9_GV1j_snap.apk (org.codeaurora.snapcam)

+1 Google Cam is more stable for pictures and produce better quality. Not an Hardware problem
Hello . I started having main camera focusing issue.
When it zoom close subjects its fine and than when it zooms distant subject it becomes blurry .
So when I shake the phone or make a tap it removes blur and catch the picture good.
Should I replace camera lens , sensor .. or it might be hardware ?
I just got the phone. Focus on people is always bad. No recognition. I have to switch to Portrait mode manually to get good shots of people.
Main camera also has focussing problems with flowers.
I expected more than this...
My Huawei used to always regognize people.

I'm honestly in the same boat. After buying a flagship xiaomi phone and having to slap or shake the camera for it to work properly is very disappointing definetly my last xiaomi phone.
