Delay making call with Touchless control - Moto X Q&A

Hi I have a problem when I try to make a call with the touchless control. The phone get my voice and tell my the name of my contact to make the call. The problem start after I confirm the call, its take around 30 sec to make the call. I dont know why I am having this problem. I dont have the problem calling without the touchless

Mine also takes a bit to make the call, don't think it's 30 seconds though...
I attribute it to software and the time it takes to fully execute the commands.
99 times out of 100 it's not an issue, that's the trade off in my opinion, not having to touch anything to make the call... If it's urgent, like calling 911, then I'll do it the old fashioned way... Ultimately, even with the delay, it's not a whole lot slower then unlocking the phone, launching the phone app, tabbing to contacts, finding the contact and then calling... Though, I would not mind if it was quicker, but it's still a lot more convenient, 99% of the time, then the traditional calling method.

TyTn2 and Jawbone

I love this bluetooth headset. I was in a really noisy resturant, my friend could not even hear the noise on the other end. This jawbone has some serious noise cancelling technologies. Then I went into the bathroom where the music was insanely loud (mexican mariachi stuff) and still friend couldn't hear any music at all.
Weird but cool.
But when I press the button on my headset to hang up a call, it tries to open up the voice recorder/voice calling app on the tytn2. Very annoying.
Do any of you know how turn off this feature? I just want to stop the call. Thanks.
All I can say is that it isn't normal behavior...sorry.
I see that behavior all the time with 2 Jawbones, push button to end call, the call ends but voice dialer opens. I just keep quiet and it cancels itself, very irritating I agree.

Never heard of that problem. MAybe its the dialer or even the rom ur using to cause this problem? Have u tried a different rom with ur bluetooth? Also try to install a different dialer and see if that helps. My jawbone works perfect on my att tilt!

You using stock ROM or custom ROM?
this happens to mine as well. From what I've observed, it seem like a delay of some sort when you press the button to hang up, and then the call has already hung up on the other end, and instead of hanging up the call, the phone will just turn on the voice dialer.
it is almost certainly what fakts13 posted as a cause. I've never seen mine launch the voice recorder when hanging up from a call.
It is exactly what fakts13 said. A single button press on the Jawbone can answer or hang up a phone call, but it will also activate voice dialing if no phone call is active. The only problem that you are experiencing is that your other caller is hanging up before you, so there is no active call whenever you press the button on your Jawbone. Since there is no active call, the button press launches Voice Dial on your TyTN II. You could always disable Voice Dial altogether if you never use it.

Incoming call stops after 3 rings

My wife has a Touch Diamond 2 with original stock ROM from about a year ago. She has a recurring problem with incoming calls stopping ringing after 3 rings - meaning that she misses virtually all of her calls. A quick test reveals that the caller continues to hear the phone ringing after my wife's phone stops ringing.
She has Call Forwarding (in Network service settings) set to divert calls after 30 seconds, although this seems to reset itself to 15 seconds every time she reboots the phone (??).
She's in the Asda Mobile network in the UK (which I believe is based on Vodafone).
Has anyone else had this issue?
I think all of us(married males)face this problem i e ,our voice is gone when our wives appear.
The issue is your forward settings.

The forward settings are to forward to voicemail after 30 seconds.
???
If you take those setting off, it will roll to Vmail in 4 rings or whatever your carrier sets it to.
The 30 secs is interferring and causing it to roll after 3.

You are you saying that the 30 sec setting is effectively meaningless/useless, and that she only has the choice between 3 and 4 rings? (which is usually too short, as she never has the phone near enough to answer it that quickly!)

Basically yes.
You can contact your provided and I think they can configure it from their end to set for more rings. There is no way to control this from the phone.
If you are in the US, you can use Google Voice. If she sets it up to forward to her cell, it will give more time to answer.

[Problem] No incoming sound in calls

For some reason, it started happened a few weeks ago, that when I'm making or receiving a call, they can hear me, but I can't hear anything, and when it happens, I have to restart the phone for it to work. It's like the service making that work was closing itself. Sometimes that even happened while I was in a call, everything was fine, then for a moment I wasn't able to hear anything, and after 10 or 15 seconds I was able to hear again.
What kind of thing can cause that? Is it possible that an app or game or something uses so much ram that it closes such an important service down?

Call in background?

Hi
I've been using tasker for years now, but I still can't find the way to make calls in background mode. Every other task is usually made in background except for calls. I have a task that calls my isp to get a msg with my data usage and balance. Also for my car gps I make calls for it to send me the location.
I want this calls to be made in background, and not to interrupt any other activity that I could be doing on my phone. Is there any chance?
A million internet points to whoever helps me
as i know, smartphone is just a phone in the end ...
and the propose of phone, is to make calls...
so, its not supriseing that andorid os is do not offer any solution to your problem..
what you can do,
is just "press home button, when during a call"
and mute the call volume until the call will end ...
its will simulate the effect you looking for, at the best way ..
if you can, try to make "retrun to last app" for avoid the discomfort it make..

Question Question about call waiting

On all my old Samsung phones the call waiting would ring and then maybe a few seconds later ring again reminding you.
My new 21 Ultra the call waiting is like a constant beeping every second. Is there a way to change that pattern?
Also when switching over a call a box pops up asking how you want to handle the call when you are accepting the new call. 99% of the time I want to end the call and take the new call. Is there any way to bypass that screen as well?

As far as I know, its nothing to do with the phone. Its your phone service provider and I don't think you can change it other than disabling call waiting option.
