Slow starting up - Galaxy Camera Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When i fist put on the camera it takes a long time to start up first showing all samsung icons and everything. Is it possible to be able to make a pictire faster when comig out of completely-off mode?
W

enable fast startup, it should be somewhere in your power settings.
if you used your camera in the last 24 hours it will significantly reduce startup time.

Thx, that was already enabled, but I didn't notice.

Could some1 tell me if it is adviseable to use this app? Does it make a difference to the battery life?
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using XDA App
I tryed it for a week, but couldn't realy se that it made a difference to the battery consumption.
The best thing - and i know it may sound a bit silly - was actually to "paly" with the features and controls.
But was it worth to pay for, i would have to say no.
wrong, if you're using the preset..yes it will make slight difference...
i used the advanced mode, and customized/configured it to my behaviour of using my phone
my phone will goes into super sleep mode at night - flight mode
combined with setCPU on non peak time (12AM-8AM) - 200mhz
my battery can last for 1 week without charging...
if it not doing its job, then you're using it wrong...
its like how you use your computer...does it improve your productivity?if you're using it wrong, then most likely it will not improve your productivity.
its just a tool, its how you used it that matters.
I did use the advanced mode and tryed several settings, but i didn't make much diffrence.
Perhaps my user habits just don't fit to the app ;-)
I guess ill have to try it myself ^_^

I have used JD for over 2 months now and it has definitely helped preserve juice when the phone is idle. As much as 1.7 times in daytime on working days. It basically saves me the headache of closing or killing any data hungry applications/Widgets by shutting down all data after I lock the phone.
However if you are using the phone all the time which I end up doing on weekends, then it will not be of much use. It increases juice by just 1.2 times which is meaningless.

Does anyone know how to make it turn on to refresh widgets?
You can set up a schedule where, for example, it will turn on data for 60 seconds every 15 minutes to allow Widgets etc to sync or update. Also learns where your wifi networks are and turns wifi on/off based on location. Works very well once it learns your networks.
I use the latest beta which also allows you to customize the automatic brightness setting so that it actually does what it's supposed to.
Well worth the money I think.

My experience after one week using it:
Preserves battery by factor 1.4 to 1.7.
So I think it is working and worth the money if you need the extra battery life.
As I'm charging it every night or if I have enough power left the next morning at work I have disabled it as long as my next outdoor trip will start. THEN I will really need the extra power.
BR
Sven
It does cause a lot of slowdown sometimes and often doesn't autorun but it is increasing my battery life a lot.
Factor 2.2 for me. Super app.
so that 2.2 for you how many hours usage on a single charge do you get?
Android Revolution HD dosen't need this app
It works good on motorola bravo. :-D
I didn't notice a huge difference...
Using cm7 I've found I get a great battery life.
I also use llama which can set profiles based on location which saves...like turning data off when at work etc

More juice you save = You limit your phone functionality/experience more
I got a car phone charger to solve my battery life issue
mixed reviews from this app was really wondering if this really works..
I agree that it limits your experience if you use it. Part of the fun of having a smartphone is getting updates. If all you care about is text messages, then you'll be fine with this app. If you are getting push updates you'll most likely encounter problems.

I tried it for 1 month, didn't find it feasible enough, plus it slows down everytime I turn on my phone (when it establishes wifi/3G connection).
I didn't find a huge difference when I used it on ARHD 1.1.1
To each his own I suppose.

battery swap and date lost

Hello
when I'm out all day it could happen I have to put a secondary battery. When I do this (I have to wait a few seconds after powering off and removing the empty one to clear the battery stats otherwise the new one carries the old percentage) and I start the phone the date is reset to Jan 2007 1 AM and changes back to the correct one after a few seconds (because of automatic date feature). The problem is that in the meanwhile some apps/services that start get the fake date and this messes things up. For example if I receive offline Viber messages they go as "received in 2007" or I lose all the stats of Internet usage for the day from 3g watchdog.
Is this a normal behavior? I'm ALMOST sure this wasn't happening months ago. Is the phone supposed to lose the date when you remove a battery?
I think that is normal. When the battery loses a lot of power somehow the phone is unable to keep time and date.

On the contrary it is not normal...maybe the little internal battery that feeds the clock is discharged...it is like the battery of PC motherboards
Accidentally thanked you

are you sure about this? could you try if it happens to you too? just remove the battery for 10seconds and see what happens

It happens exactly the same.
Wrong time and date and after some time it gets corrected.

Its usual if you are replacing it to quick then it will remain otherwise if swapping takes a little time settings will be lost

OK thanks. problem is that if i replace it quickly the charged battery will carry a wrong percentage
Have you tried deleting batterystats.bin when you change the battery?
I have no idea, but you can try if it works..
i tried but it usally makes no difference. the only way to actually get the correct percentage is to lose the date. I wish there was some other way to swap batteries without having these problems

Battery Problem Xperia Z !!

Guys I have the c6603 model running 10.3..a.0.423...i live in india but got the phone from australia and its telstra branded. the phone has been running well until a few weeks back i started noticing the battery level going down faster than usual...i am not a heavy app user...and in the battery settings, i have noticed that "android system" is using up almost 70-80% of d battery...the rest like 'screen', android os etc. only 5-10%...this has resulted in the phone lasting hardly a day even on minimal usage. So, could anyone tell me why is the phone acting like this ? what could be the possible reason for the android system using this much battery.
Any help would be appreciated.
Well. What i can suggest I have the same sort of issue. Disabled facebook app et al problem fixed.
Well if you want dig a bit deaper then instal app so called "wakelock detector "-> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.uzumapps.wakelockdetector&hl=en
Hope it will help!:fingers-crossed:
I'm a quite heavy user. I hadn't ever turned stamina mode off since I got the phone. Been using it for a few days with stamina mode off and the battery seems to be way better. When there's a hour or more wherein I won't use the phone I put stamina mode on.

There is a problem with the latest google services framework so that it eats your battery as long as you have location services enabled. So deal with the battery drain or disable location services

Here is your answer! FB is an piece of **** coded app, that is useless on non-rooted phones (Greenify is an must for even using FB app so you can terminate the app after each session).
I had the same problem with battery. I deleted fb with titanium backup and installed friends caster. With location services on and green power premium. I have two days of juce now. No greenify or other apps just green power set to switch off data and WiFi at night and during the day switch it on for 1min every 30 min. Of course when the screen is on I have the data constantly on. No games just websites, music, Tapatalk, Gmail and phone calls plus occasional Facebook browersing using friends caster.

Alrite...i guess i ll have to disable the FB app and see if it makes any difference.
I have just received my phone back from the Sony Repair Centre and seem to be suffering the same issue only more acute. The battery drain is so fast that I can't even charge it unless it is totally switched off, even with the screen off a no apps running it will only charge 8% overnight and with the screen on that 8% will drain in a few minutes.

Newest stock or not?
I'm not sure, it's a C6603, if that helps. I only got the phone originally in about July and it stopped working, wouldn't switch on or respond to any input. They returned it to me working, albeit with the SIM missing, but it had 44% charge, so I put it on charge. It actually seems to be getting worse, I've now switched it off in an effort to get it to charge faster, but having been on charge for several hours it's only up to 56% from 22%, I would guess that's in 7 hours.
Attention!
Guys I just came across this battery issue with samsung s3 users. They have this file "gsiff_daemon" which is giving them battery problems same as ours. the file comes under the name of Android System. Have a look at it and read about it on google. They have a post about it on xda as well.
So I checked if I could locate it in our Z's and maybe rename it or do something, but I wasn't able to locate it even after using ES File explorer. Maybe it is present under some other name and is probably the reason our "Android System" is using up 70-80% of the battery life.
I request some advanced users here to look into the problem and see if they can help us.
Background process limit
Hi all,
Trying this (Background process limit), i think will work, because now i see a lot of more processes in background than in previous releases ( wasting our batery and internet conection..)
I had the same issue in upgrade in a previous release and i solved activating the limitation of background process .
I am trying this solution now
To limitated, go into developer options
Then the 2 option beggining by the end , Background process limit.
I have put 2 process at most

okey ill give it a try & tell u if it works or not have a gud day
Please don't mess with the background process limit. It will have a negative effect on your phone's multitasking and will not increase battery life at all. In fact, it may decrease battery life because cached processes will be regularly removed from RAM and have to reload themselves.
The option is in the developer options for a reason. You shouldn't be touching anything in there if you don't understand what it is.
It's sad to see uninformed nonsense like that posted here when this is supposed to be a place for people to learn how their phone works. ?

problem solved
its not about the software (as many forums try to imply): I went to a lab to replace the battery and now the phone works like expected. runs a full day. not few hours.

Battery life

My gear is supposed to be delivered today. I downloaded everything i need to root and customize it. I was wondering if there was anyway to use an app lie juice defender to improve battery life. If so, which app is preferred?
Turn off the wrist watch gesture and your fine. A normal use for me drains about 15-20% / 24h..
That's right ! Just turning off the wrist gesture to wake the gear the battery is consuming between 1 5 / 20 % a day / . Merry Christmas.

Thanks for the info. I had one other question but I didn't want to start another thread. Does NFC need to be enable on the note 3 in order to pair with the gear?
Yea at the time of setting up ur gear bt after that u just need bluetooth to usd gear

Yes. I have the motion activated... the trick is to turn the screen brightness all the way down. I get about 30% / 24hrs with the motion activated and the screen brightness down.

Thanks for the tip. I had motion deactivated to conserve battery but didn't like having to press the button each time to wake up the watch. 30% a day is not bad at all. I would even take 50%. Anything is better than the 24 hour time I've been seeing posted by reviewers. That worried me a bit. The good thing too is it charges fairly fast. So that 30% drain will be quick to recover.

in fact, I have 100% a day...but I'm using the iPhone, so I have to keep the bluetooth tethering on all the time.
Thanks for the tips and info. Looking forward to getting it

My battery life with updated US firmware Null_16 and the Freefalling theme. This is 90% standby time I don't have much time to mess with it at work!

Do you find that battery life on your connected phone suffers? I know keeping the BT radio on will have an impact, but I noticed I had to change some settings in JuiceDefender to allow the data connection to remain active so that S-Voice will work on the Gear. This, of course, means my phone's radio (data or wifi) is always on, when before I used to let JD turn it off while sleeping.
Haven't had the Gear long enough to tell whether or not this will have a serious impact but wondering if there are any tips? I tried finding a setting in JuiceDefender to only turn the radio on when the S-Voice is activated. Unfortunately, that doesn't work.
please help me.
after null_16 my battery life is short.
after 6 hour (only in watch mode without notify or other) my gear shut down.
could you give some tips for extend the battery life ?
thanks
If I turn off the motion wake feature my Gear will go three to four days easy but if I use motion it won't last longer than 12-14 hours. This is with moderate usage. I get probably a total of 30-40 emails and texts and other notifications a day and maybe 10 phone calls. (Most calls not answered on gear) maybe 3 a day. I would love to be able to use the watch without pushing the button. Even a tap on the screen to wake would be acceptable to me. The pebble uses a shake motion to wake which also is better than the Gear motion. I drive for a living and every turn of the steering wheel activates the screen. (Although battery life is not improved on days off.) if I side load apps will my battery life be severely shortened? And to the person who asked about the Bluetooth running all the time, it doesn't impact the battery life of my phone hardly at all.

Do you use Power saving mode or Ultra PSM?

I have found that I generally get around 4 - 5 hours SoT, and power saving mode makes absolutely no difference whatsoever.
Has anyone noticed this also? Or is it just me
I understand that the Stamina Mode work when you turn off your screen.
But you can use with Stamina Mode the feature to limit your phone power, I really don't notice any battery improvement.
Definitely i notice the different between Stamina off / Stamina on when the screen is off.
USM is in my opinion for Bear Grylls People's.
